Thank you for talking about this with so much compassion and nuance. I especially appreciate the language around generational trauma. People have justifiable reasons to cut off their parents, but I loved how you highlighted that opening up to the full perspective is the key to healing. Maybe not the relationship with the parents themselves, but at least within. I was deeply wounded by how I was raised, but as I've been able to have more open and frank discussions with them as adults, the more tools I have to self heal. Regardless, if people choose to forgive or not forgive their parents, it's deeply personal and nobody should be pressured one way or the other. I'm waiting for deepfake Ai child stars. One nugget of positivity, the show Malcolm in The Middle seems to have been free of on set mistreatment, and all the then kids who came out of it seemed to be well looked after on set. We can't say the same thing about the Schneiderscape, where Nickelodeon had their studios in FL specifically to scoot around child labor laws in CA. The way the network allowed him to be a tyrant over those then kids so he could be a reliable cash cow is repulsive and I dearly hope it changes in the future. Your thorough breakdown of the issues in the 1k likes comment was fantastic.

If the option was taken away forever, 10 yo me would be super mad. I want to know what george Washington and Michael Jackson have to say about this.
