i used to have a ukulele like the baby one when i was like 4, 5, and 6. i played the living crap out of that thing. my mom tuned the strings a little tighter, so i thought i was so good. the thing lasted 3 years. when i was 6 and i was "playing" for my mom and dad, i strummed to hard (which is how you'd strum on a regular ukulele) and the strings broke. i cried for hours. and im not exaggerating. i cried myself to sleep that night

the 20 dollar kse was my first uke. it came with the same bag and it was from the same company. it lasted 2 month before the strings cracked. i now own a 70 dollar uke 😂 edit: a year later and I still own the same ukulele! It’s been through a lot and I still play

I ordered a pretty good one on amazon, it was around $36 and I’m no Ukelele expert but It sounds pretty good to me. It also came with picks(idk why) a,chord chart, a digital tuner, a strap, and some stickers to put on the ukelele kind of as a guide. I feel like it was a pretty good deal plus I rarely ever have to tune the uke because it stays in tune so well

If you want to buy a good quality uke for a cheap price I recommend octopus ukuleles, Its got really professional strings and its only £23.99!! It's AMAZING for beginners!!!! (Btw I live in England and if your somewhere else you might want to check shipping)

I got a ukulele for £19.99 (In British pounds) and it's perfect. Its made of wood , took a while to tune at first but now its fine. You definitely inspired me to start playing. Love ya. x

Soo glad to be one of the early commenters to this video. I guess the universe smiled on me today. I did buy a $67 violin outfit on Amazon. It has four stings just like a ukulele. And also a chinrest carved with an edge sharp enough to cut paper.

For the $20 ukulele - would u suggest it for a 22 year old who's never played uke and wants to learn? 😅😅😅 I've never played before but i want to learn, and I dont want to spend like $50 on an instrument I've never played before

If $20 is your budget, then I would say go for it! A low quality uke is better than nothing at all. However, if you could manage to spend $30 more, you will see the quality improve drastically. Here's a $50 one that I recommend amzn.to/2th7Gm4 I personally think the $20 ukes aren't a good investment because they don't last long and don't produce as nice of a sound. However, it is up to you and how much your willing to spend!

The best way to find out if you like an instrument without investment is to borrow one, or find a used one of higher quality. I would think that you would become quite frustrated with using something so low quality and give up. If you have a friend or relative that has a uke, borrowing is best! :)

Cheyenne Rush If you can, you should go to a Guitar Center or some other store with ukes to try out one. Maybe if you like it you can get one to your budget. (Guitar Center is quite expensive)

@elise Those uke’s strings are usually what ppl call “all stretch” string which means that unlike a good quality uke over time these strings will just keep on stretching and not get stiffer and stay in place longer

Caramel ukuleles are really good quality and they are super cheap, so if you are looking for something cheap but actually decent, look at those
