As a proud Valkyrie Interstate owner, I would suggest getting the Touring model, & stripping it down to a naked Valkyrie. That way you still get the bigger gas tank. The smaller tank leaves you with only about 150 mile range.

I bought a new R18B at the end of 22 and have racked up right around 13k miles on it. I love it for many of the same reasons mentioned. Especially for just how completely different it is from everything else. I never have to worry about walking out and not spotting my bike in the sea of whatever glides. Mine has the option 719 galaxy dust metallic which is so cool and freaking beautiful! It's not without some tragic shortcomings in the engineering and design though. That fun rumble they designed to leave in the engine turns into an annoyingly numbing buzz at 3k rpm, which is 80mph in 6th. Highway cruising speed buzzes like an old 70s inline 4. Plus the fairing disrupts and misguides the air so poorly. Terrible buffeting from above and below the fairing. Blasting down the highway my helmet gets rattled so much, reading road signs can be difficult. Forget about hearing that powerful Marshall sound system at anything above 30mph. I do still like the bike. Its great fun to rip around on and gets a lot of compliments/interest, but for me it doesn't make up for how bad it is for touring. Which is what it is supposed to have been built for doing.

I have a 99 Valkyrie interstate, they are absolutely rowdy. The 6 into 6 cobra is still available, I just bought one a few months ago. The difference from the goldwing other than the 6 carbs is as you thought, a different cam and the interstate has different timing than the standard or tourer models. What’s crazy is it actually has more power with the stock exhaust but doesn’t sound anywhere near as good.

I have Aprilia 1200 and Harley Street Glide currently. On a long trip, the harley Vtwin configuration is so conducive to long travel by having so much foot space to change the position and make long trips so much easier. I have had many bikes, V twin configuration is my favorite. I don't like those two cylinders sticking where my feet are. Last year I made a trip from Seattle to La in one shot. Breeze on the Harley. I never thought I would like Harleys this much.

About 10 years ago I got invited on a Harley ride with my valk my buddy on a stratoliner. Off the bat the valk made the Harley's look small. It got a lot of attention..specially the 6 shooter exhaust. We hit the road and I continually smoked even the built Harley's. The stratoliner was the only bike that could remotely hang. The disadvantage the Harley guys snickering every time we needed fuel. The strat drank like a fish too.

I've seen other KZreadrs owning one, or riding on or a long term loan and it had the that effect on the people. I also appreciated them more around that time.

Pretty rare bike and buying it in the middle of swedish winter was a good move. It just passed inspection (mandatory here in the people's republic of Swedistan) with flying colors so it's good for two years. My first ever ride on it was on my 40th birthday on 4/16, glad i like bike! A BMW boxer with less than 37.000 miles should last me a lifetime.

Josh I love your videos and have been watching you for 6 years, your content has helped me to remember the darkness of chaotic good/neutral is where all of us in the shade tree army find the courage to tell you that the fucking bike that costs 1,600 dollars and is 90% of what you want should be made in to your ultimate demon steed to spread the gospel of the swamp wizard and bearded bastereds of the netherworld should be bought and made in to the steed of the apocalypse so that all may bow to the truth, THERE IS NO DOUBT, "YOU DO TRULY MEET THE WORST PEOPLE ON A HONDA." Thank you for all the years of laughter and truth, I truly appreciate you and all the people that you have surrounded yourself with to make this world just a little bit better.

I'd like to be able to afford an R18 at some point... I really love the design and the boxer twin.

Indian was trying to look like, well, an Indian. The BMW looks like it's trying to be a Harley or early Indian look alike. The old Motto Guzzi had the ride, sound, handling, comfort, feel that can't be beat. Try a 70's Guzzi Eldorado. You'll think it's a small block chevy with a 4 barrel when you nail it. What a sound.

I am an original owner of a 1997 Valk with 108,000 miles. It’s a great bike.

You would be absolutely correct on the rowdy. I am the one who bought that bike. It is a beast. Riding 2 up and it will cruise at 90 and not even be breathing hard.

one thing I have always liked about BMW, they never cared about being like Harley, they won't sacrifice their perfection just to fit in
