I really wished that was true... BTW does this idea make her more threatening? If she steals someone's kung fu. it'll weaken the person but in an unexpected twist, the person who's kung fu is taken away from her will die in 5 minutes. But it's not like he/she'll be sent to the spirit realm after death. The person will literally disintegrate into nothingness. No after life...

Idc what anyone else says, every villain in the KFP film series has been badass. Tai Lung's ferocity, Lord Shen's insidiousness, General Kai's ambition, and Empress Chameleon's domination. Sure it wasn't a perfect movie but the Chameleon was one of the things that had my attention.

Its that i think were expecting more in this movie but i seen that peoples Expectations where much much higher and pooped on the movie for the writers trying something different. I enjoyed the movie and The Chameleon sounded like a spoiled villain which its hard too make a spoiled villain

Now this does her justice! Happy to see she got at least 1 awesome tribute like this since she’s my favorite designed villain of the four.

@Creator-gk5rv I wish she had a clearer backstory, they have a good concept here and if they had just had an opening scene where they have a 2D explanation like they did for Shen and Kai, I think the film would have been a lot better. Maybe another scene of her being evil, but I don't know...

@@sparkydablaze Po was initially rejected for being big, fat and clumsy, despite there being elephants, oxes and rhinos as Kung Fu Masters. The schools she visited didn't want her, so they came up with the first excuse that came to mind, which was her size and social status. It was a bad excuse, but they didn't need a good one, as long as it did the job at sending her out.

The chameleon with cat like eyes is really scary but at the same time terrifyingly awesome.

THIS IS A LEGENDARY EDIT, it makes the chameleon seem like the best villain in the franchise, sadly its not😥

She has potential, a lot of potential in fact. She can haunted Po by turning into his dead mom or turn into master shifu to confuse Po. So many heinous and unapologetically evil act that she can do with such power. She can possibly shock the audience the same way lord shen​ ​did with genocide scene. But no, she ended up being disappointment.

Also, there’s a theory on TV-Tropes that explains the Chameleon’s character a little: The Chameleon wasn't telling the whole truth about her backstory about how she got rejected by kung fu masters for allegedly being too small or weak for kung fu. When you think about it, her Freudian Excuse seems sympathetic at first glance but with a deeper analysis, it completely falls apart. For one, there were kung fu masters out there like Oogway or Shifu who would take on smaller animals like Mantis as kung fu students. Second, the Chameleon practically ruled a city as an extremely wealthy crime boss/sorceress and lived as royalty for a long time, given how we see her take in Zhen as a child after Zhen tried to rob her jewels so she clearly wasn't economically disadvantaged and had the funds to hire/bribe kung fu masters to teach her in all that time but chose not to for some reason. What may have been more likely is that in the past, maybe just one kung fu instructor turned her down on account of her size and species while the other kung fu masters turned her down because they saw the darkness in the Chameleon's heart like Oogway saw Tai Lung's darkness and knew a walking red flag when they saw it but the Chameleon's self-serving memory remembered the slight of being turned down for her appearance more and used that as a sob story to give legitimacy to her actions.

Such potential to be an amazing villain.

Now that's how you introduce a villain

Wish they made the chameleon something like Death but different but she was ok...

I would give her this backstory: came from a wealthy and prosperous family and wanted her to learn Kung Fu as part of family tradition. She was never good at it, so she turned to sorcery, which she used to bring the local crime lords to heal, but because it wasn't traditional, she was looked down on by her father. When she came to rule Juniper City, unsatisfied with her accomplishments due to unreseolved parabtel issues she decided to steal the Masters Kung Fu to fufill her parents wishes of becoming a master.

I was shocked when the credits showed that Viola Davis was the one doing the Chameleon's voice. She did an amazing job.

Wow - now THIS is an edit. I'm currently working on an analysis of Kung Fu Panda 4 and this has really got me excited to talk about The Chameleon. Not a fan of her but, man, this edit? You could change my opinion just from this. Good job man.

W, this is a sick Chameleon edit.

Come to think of it…She’s the combination of 3 previous villains of Kung Fu Panda -She’s ambitious about power like Tai Lung and doesn’t care if someone gets hurt in the way -She lives in a palace and a tyrannical ruler like Lord Shen, she also takes from her people in the Juniper City like Shen did in Gongmen City. -She steals powers from others just like Kai and she has a special technique to do it just like Kai did in KFP 3.

I think I'm just biased since I own chameleons, but she captured my attention since the movie was announced!

Great edit! When I watched the movie, it was good, but not great! It could’ve been so much more. Chameleon was fine but the reason for her turning evil made zero sense and Kai and Lord Shen were hugely underutilized and I hate the way they changed their models. Tai Lung was fantastic as always but he wasn’t given enough. Lastly, to me the audio sounded weirdly recorded and I had to check the credits to make sure Po’s panda dad was voiced by Bryan Cranston and Mr. Peng was still voiced by his usual voice actor.

Yeah blame the director for this, he was basically what some would call as a yes man type of guy, as he rejected the co-directors vision for the film and how it could've been made but she was labelled as a nobody and I learned this from people who made posts about when the film first came out.

Chameleon had a huge potential if only they made her backstory clear and better other than just being small.

During the first three movies Po´s journey was about finding out who he is and becoming who he´s meant to be. The Chamelon is the exact opposite because by using sorcery she changes but only becomes others so she never truly becomes her true self as she just mimics others. That´s why I also find the final battle cool because even so the Chameleon didn´t steal Po´s abilites, she transforms into him to seemingly mocking him and showing that she became someone better than him but in the end she still couldn´t win.

They didn’t play much on her chameleon background. It would be funny if the whole time Zhen isn’t a real person but is the chameleon disguised but later the chameleon adopts the beliefs of its impersonation of Zhen, it later returns to its normal self but changed its ways

No depth to the stories, the story feels so rushed. Why zhen must be the dragon warrior? She didnt have Oogway knowledge or Po’s dedication. The betrayal she made also didnt give any impact and also dont make so much sense. Kai and shen apparently are dumb? Why do they bowed to Po? They literally got skadoosh by him to death

I definitely enjoyed the movie, the fights where cool the comedy was great and the storytelling well there’s room for improvement the movie could have been so much better and I wish it was, but I still enjoyed it 5 or 6.5/10
