Lived in Chicago when this came out, Larry Lujack (WLS) was the big DJ in town. The first time he played this song he said he liked it so much he was going to play it again - and he did. The next day he told his listeners he got in trouble for playing it twice in a row - so he did it again. Great memories. I still love this song.

The human brain is amazing, I would have to guess that I haven't listened to this song for at least 35 years until tonight and I remember every word, every note , every drum beat like it was 1970, how the hell does that work?

Science says: Songs with vocals actually register in different section of brain than instrumentals land. Also retention related to your age when you learned / heard. First 20 years are imprinted. Early years even more - & songs imprint differently than plain talking. Why I recall the science songs from 4th grade, but not the lectures.:) 4/22

The E Club, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, 1969. My best buddy heading to the Navy, me to the Marine Corps--both Vietnam and this was one of the songs we played over and over since he was engaged to my wife's sister. We both made it back. Brings back memories for sure! Thanks for putting this out there!

Correct me if I'm wrong. This is the intro music from the concert scene at the end of The Blues Brothers when Jake and Elwood take the stage... I know it sounds a bit different.

Yep! Brian Keenan. He was a studio drummer. Joined them in 65 when they were transitioning from folk/gospel to psychedelic rock.
