The Centre for Experimental Military Archaeology
We recently had the pleasure to visit the Kent Showground to see the work being carried out by CEMA.
The Centre for Experimental Military Archaeology (CEMA) is the home of pan-historical experimentation concerning methods of military attack and defence, and of soldiers’ day-to-day lives, from the Roman period to the Second World War.
Sam Fieldhouse the Community Engagement Manager from Wessex Archaeology joined Andrew Robertshaw the Lead Historian on the project to explore the front line trenches they have built to discuss the archaeology that was found on the Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, from The Great War.
To find out more about CEMA visit their website:

With thanks to Alex Shepherd for providing the UAV footage of the trenches.
