Reasons, why the CC is a cult: The infallibility of the pope. The institution of bishops and priests. Worship of Mary and the praying to saints. Salvation through sacraments and works. Unbiblical rituals: Mass and Eucharist. Traditions (Catechism) over Biblical teachings.

Papal infallibility is the doctrine that the pope, acting as supreme teacher and under certain conditions, cannot error when he teaches in matters of faith or morals. Some ask how popes can be infallible if some of them lived scandalously. This objection, of course, illustrates the common confusion between infallibility and impeccability. There is no guarantee that popes won’t sin or give bad example. infallibility of the pope is not a doctrine that suddenly appeared in Church teaching; rather, it is a doctrine that was implicit in the early Church. It is only our understanding of infallibility that has developed and been more clearly understood over time. In fact, the doctrine of infallibility is implicit in these Petrine texts: John 21:15-17 (“Feed my sheep . . . ”), Luke 22:32 (“I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail”), and Matthew 16:18 (“You are Peter . . . ”).

Hi brother, I do have to disagree. I do want to say first, thank you for being respectful . I am not attacking but I do believe these girls are right in many areas they have discussed. Rituals are religious ceremonies consisting of a series of actions performed accordingly so for instance, Catholics do the Holy Week Processions for the saints, which in of itself is a public ritual march where people cast promises in the name of the saint during Easter, which is a form of idolatry. As well, in order for sins to be forgiven, it is done during confession with a priest which the Bible indicates that it is only through Jesus our sins are forgiven. We confess to one another (as James states) for accountability reasons but they don't have the power to forgive, only Jesus does.

Most of these are EASILY debunked by ex Protestants - kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZIehy7WmgJnbXdI.htmlsi=dK5oa8W6Osjc5izC and once you understand how the faith was passed down from the apostles you'll realize the rest (apostolic succession). I don't get into KZread beefs/apologetics, but I'm assuring you of my prayers. Yes we have had a HUGE share of failures and faults, but Christ is and always will be the head of the Church and that's why we can rest knowing He will NEVER allow her to fall into error.

If this is a serious question, then you are quite truly ignorant of Catholicism and Catholic spirituality. A member of a Catholic religious Order, such as Pope Francis is, will spend multiple hours (2-6) in prayer, with most of those prayers being over the Holy Scriptures. So, if your question is serious, I'm astonished (indicates a great level of ignorance, not to mention arrogance, among Protestant Christians about Catholic devotion to the Sacred Page). So recall that it was the Catholic Church that created the Bible: the Bible is a Catholic Book. Peace.

@krykrys9 Indeed... the human tendency to break free from even legitimate authority, aka., human pride, is very strong. And, so, even/especially under pious pretexts, the human heart will devise human doctrines to justify disobedience to lawful authority. As St. Augustine says, "Pride infects even good works in order to destroy them. " Sola Scriptura is one such man-made doctrine that men have developed to justify disobedience to the authority that Christ Himself has established in His Holy Church, all under the pious pretext of (supposed) devotion to the Written Word of God (but, it's not authentic devotion to the Word of God if one uses that Sacred Word to justify heresy and disobedience to Church authority, as Protestantism has done). God bless you.

@krykrys9 Great to hear! The Eucharist is EVERYTHING, because the Eucharist is JESUS! When I was still learning the Faith in high school, I was in a Catholic chapel at a monastery of monks, praying in front of the tabernacle (where the Holy Eucharist is reserved), but I wasn't aware that the Eucharist was reserved there. BUT, I had this VERY REAL sense that JESUS was TRULY THERE. Though I knew Jesus is God and so He's everywhere, I just KNEW there was SOMETHING *very* special about "that box" (the tabernacle), that Jesus was truly there in a VERY special way, as if He was there in His very Body, and it filled me with joy to the point of many tears! I didn't want to leave that monastery (whereas, before, being a typical high school boy, I didn't want to even go there, but I was forced to by my school). We'll, after that experience, I learned later that the *Holy Eucharist* is kept in the tabernacle and that the Eucharist REALLY IS Jesus! That Jesus is JUST AS present to us, in the Eucharist, as He was to those whom He ministered on earth before ascending to heaven! I then learned about Our Lord's words in the Gospels, St. Paul's first epistle to the Corinthians, and all the many Church Fathers, all of whom very clearly teach that Jesus is truly present-- Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity, really, truly, and SUBSTANTIALLY-- in the Holy Eucharist, and I realized then that the Eucharist is EVERYTHING because the Eucharist is Jesus! And, thus, there ain't NO way I'd EVER leave the Catholic Church because to leave her would be to leave JESUS in the Eucharist! And that would be hell for me...I love the Lord, present as He is in the Holy Eucharist, the Son of God and Son of Mary, Amen!
