I think this speaks to how weird the job of video game voice actors is. Like imagine being Laura Bailey, queen of the nerds, but also voicing a random nurse, reporter, person on the street all in the same game. It's such a tight knit community so they have like 50 people play literally everyone in every single game.

Even knowing its his voice,Taliesin can VOICE ACT. Damn.

Super weird coming from Critical Role, none of his characters have really had much of a voice to them beyond his own and a light accent. Surprising. But I guess he doesn't use the show to pimp his career the way someone like Liam does.

The Last of Us might as well just have "featuring the cast of Critical Role" at this point with how many background voices they all do.

Taliesin was the biggest surprise for me. But that's probably because for the 100s of hours I've listened to him he's been doing a monotone british accent first, irishish second, and an american accent with a completely different inflection third. Hence why hearing him speak very seriously and intensely in his normal american accent was very hard to place.

😂 Same! I didn't recognize Sam, Travis, Matt, Marisha, or Taliesin during my playthrough. I wasn't paying attention to the voice actors to be fair; in my second playthrough (or half of it cuz I never finished 2nd playthrough) I recognized the voices but couldn't place them... They are amazing actors. I can't wait to see what's in store for them in the future.

You know, I don't think I've ever heard Taliesin as a VA before...... I would never be able to tell him from another character and I hope that's a compliment. With Marisha and Sam I can tell it's them clear as day, but listening to Taliesin's voice lines over and over again I can't tell that it's him at all. Even the other VA's when listening in I can tell "Oh hey, it's this person" but not Taliesin... damn pyramid.

Taliesin and Travis have their regular voices and their acting voices. They seem to use the acting voices rarely outside the booth. Travis's is mostly recognizable as it's just Roy Mustang. Tal does so little actual mainstream voice work that he's got fewer examples so his is less recognizable, though you can hear it in the BackBlaze ads on Critical Role when he's involved. Still noticably him if you squint your ears. I find this fascinating!

According to an interview Marisha was also recast as that Nurse, the one in the Surgery room, for a flashback in TLOU2 after Laura became Abby. It seems like every background character in this game is from Critical Role

Nice! I knew some of the CR info but previously missed some info, thanks for sharing this, I love these games and the Voice and mo-cap actors did phenomenally.

Honest the whole cast is super talented but it never ceases to amaze me how much range Laura Bailey has. Of all the cast she is the one that I often can't even tell it's her voice, even when I KNOW it is. Travis is probably second in that realm. Their baby is inheriting some insane genes :)

Travis Williamham also played a hunter in the online version of tlou remastered,also another voice actor was Yuri Lowenthal.he played a hunter in the story and the online,and he also played one of the fireflies in the story

Sometimes I forget how absolutely wonderful these people are at what they do. A lot of these don’t even sound like the person talking, and I honestly wouldn’t know it was them without the context 💀 like especially Liam, Travis, and Tal, like huh???

Having both played last of us 1 & 2 and watched all of the currently available campaign 2 of critical role, I’m amazed I didn’t get this

Damn, I never recognizeded anyone else besides Ashley and Laura. But their voices I usually can recognize pretty easily, whereas I could listen to characters voiced by Travis, Liam and Talisien (and sometimes Sam when he changes his voice up more) for an hour without the slightest hint of recognition. :D
