Architects shouldn't design cars that go 120 mph. Not with one-wheel rear steering. Esp since the thing can pretty much steer all the way to perpendicular.

I had a dog that I regularly took to the beach here in Highland Park Illinois. Small talk with locals would be the norm and at the time I was fixing up a 2004 Mustang GT my son had. I started chatting with a guy about cars and was discussing my project. The gentleman later introduced himself as Joe Bortz. I'll admit, I didn't recognize the name but later realized the scope of his passion after checking out his website. Very nice fellow for sure!

In the 20th century all the cars industries made prototypes to see the designs come true , they didn't have computers yet , they were called dream cars , some were crazy and some were beautiful. And it was the space and rockets era and that was the reason for the fins in many models.

Ernesto Claudia... The 1950's & 1960's was the time of great optimism; the United States have came out of World War II victoriously as the" leader of the so-called free world" the economy was exploding with massive job growth , and wonderful changes shape the middle class as it Rose significantly. Suburbia sprung out as far as the white middle class was concerned there was a tremendous amount of optimism about the future the jet age arrive with airliners converting from propeller driven planes to jet liners the space race was just beginning against the Soviet Union symbolize that optimism automobile design also design spacecraft and science fiction looks help to bring about that optimism for new designs bold new looks for cars. And buying public absolutely loved it they were thinking about optimism they were thinking about the future a future with endless possibilities and unlimited visions of greatness. That's why cars of this era are so special they're not only just transportation devices they are works of art , time capsules simulating an era of optimism and greatness.

Those LaSalles looked a lot like Cadillacs, the roadster was crossed with a Corvette. They both look huge until someone stands next to them, probably because they look like Caddys. I sure don't recognize the engine as anything I have seen before.

LaSalle was a 'junior Cadillac' brand launched in 1927 with Harley Earl as design chief. The brand helped GM survive the depression, built WW2 war materiel, then was dropped leaving Cadillac untarnished. Packard released the 120 series in 1935 as a lower priced 'junior Packard' which, wearing the 'Packard' badge, helped them survive the depression. After their own wartime production, however, those who did well in the booming postwar economy saw the Packard name as diminished with so many prewar La Salle level Packard 120s running about. Add to that Harley Earl's aircraft inspired postwar styling for Cadillac and _"Ask the Man Who Owns One"_ gave way to _"The Standard of the World."_

This show car went into production the next year as the second-series Chevrolet Corvette in the C1 generation. It was built through 1962. Quad headlights and rounded-corner rectangular "teeth" grille appeared for 1958, a reworked version of the La Salle tail from the XP-715 prototype in 1961 and a toothless, horizontal-bar grille with discreet vertical partitions that suggested "teeth" in 1962. After that the C2 Corvette "Sting Ray" generation took over.

The LaSalle roadster was waaay ahead of its time. Detroit spent decades after them pushing uselessly huge heavy chunks of sheet metal with giant power plants trying to make them go faster with bigger engines. Imagine an Olds 442 engine and transmission in something (almost) as small as something like that!

Regardless of its "operation". Usually, from a marketing standpoint anyway, it usually isn't good to have certain sounding words within the name of the car: Dymaxium - Dy or Die, and Max. Die to the Max - ium automobile. Doubt if it would have sold well with a name like that. lol.

Just the thought of a rest of mod on something like this to complete his vision with our current technology adding drones, hybrid technology, or better turbines. I completely agree with his vision, we’re all happier out in the woods, our children thrive when they can play in the woods, but living so far out brings income disparity. I don’t see any reason for this since everything is online these days but there are many caveats to working online and many considerably reputable companies still cannot trust their employees to work from home just because of a few bad apples. Otherwise we really could have An utopian US
