👆 Jeff Loomis and Keith Merrow recently came to visit Andertons Music to talk about their signature guitars from Schecter and their latest project Conquering Dystopia. We grabbed a few hours with them at Empire Studios in Guildford and were blown away be their amazing playing and how lightly they travelled on this current tour.
Check out the links below for some of the gear that they used in this video.

Love Keih and Jeff! Had the pleasure of witnessing Jeff play live with blood gushing from his forehead around 10 years ago @ a Sydney Nevermore concert. It was in a little pub, so the guys jumped off the stage and moshed with us, Jeff's head came in contact with someone elses. But he just kept on shredding without missing a beat!!!!

I still think its so cool that Jeff is on board with Keith! I looked up to Jeff a lot during my first years of playing heavy metal guitar, even owned his signature schecter 7 string once for a week ( had to return it because it had a production error I couldnt live with ) , killer guitar nontheless

Keith Merrow, man. Jeff Loomis is an amazing shredder and very knowledgeable, but I feel like Keith is the gem in the band. When they stand side by side everyone just glues to Jeff and I feel bad. I've been following Keith for years on KZread and to this day he is my absolute favorite Guitarist/Composer out there. I'm so glad he's getting his own signature Schecter Guitars because that, in a sense was an award for his vast amounts of effort and hard work. KEITH. FUCKING. ROCKS.

I am torn. To be honest, I am a classic metal guy. Think Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Primal Fear, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Dio, and that vein of metal, where the song structure is 4/4 tempo, a slow intro, verse, chorus, solo, bridge, outro...you know what I mean. This is a whole new type of metal that I am having to get used to. I can't even tell you what the time signature is. Very melodic and very unorthodox rhythm patterns...I like it, and I love these two guitarist, but it's taking me a while to get with this style of metal. What I need to do is download it, burn it to a disk and put it in my car stereo so I can just let it sink into my fabric. Cause I want to be there!

Keith Merrow solo album called Merrow, also Jeff Loomis solo album and Nevermore is on Spotify. Solo albums are great, has aVai style in some ways but more metal. . I heard of Nevermore havent got into them but when I heard some of it spotify, pretty good stuff.

I saw a Schecter 5-string left-handed bass in a Manhattan store, and bought it just because it was so rare to see a good left-handed anything. It's way better than all of my other instruments, and it was only $800. No bolt-on neck, keeps tune, heavy and solid, lots of harmonics and sustain. I had never heard of Schecter at the time, and thought it was something that had been built by a custom luthier for somebody else.

shmimbadad The 6 String Stilettos are well worth the money! I own a Stiletto Custom-6 bass and I don't think I want any other bass!
