So US 10%, EU 10%, China 25% and India 15%. This was very informative. Capitalism offers the best Hope for humanity. Two generations have been indoctrinated into socialism. How do we educate the Y & Z's so My Alpha child doesn't end up living in '1984'.

Problem is not how to educate the young generation, problem is to look at yourself and ask yourself, why are you buying this bullshit. Chinese model is working far superior than the US model and it has became obvious over the last 5 years that we need to change, not China. Pretty words doesn't change that and what happened also when China was extremely poor is irrelevant.

Norberg is a hero of rationality.

He's confused between Capitalism and a Free Market. - A Free Market fuels competition, which is usually price competition, which is good provided you don't sacrifice standards or delivery. - Capitalism is an enabler, whatever it enables, good or bad.

economic growth has gone hand in hand with population growth for 200 years. capitalism requires constant growth, infinite growth.... which is not only impossible, it would be apocalyptic. when you claim capitalism has lifted millions out of poverty, you don't count the millions that have died prematurely DUE to poverty ! comparing capitalism to feudalism is meaningless because capitalism wouldn't exist without the leg up from feudalism.

Poverty is the state of nature. What lifts people out of poverty is good jobs and good entrepreneurial options. Free markets provide those better than centrally organized economies do.

@@freesk8 vastly incorrect. capitalism can't function without unemployment, it always insures the existence of a class of desperate servants. communism works perfectly when not sabotaged with economic sanctions, political assassinations (see thomas sankara) and war.

@@Fuji_62 Free markets have existed under times of tight employment. But communism has never worked "perfectly" nor even mildly acceptably anywhere it has been tried. Go ahead, name a nation and a decade where communism has worked even a little bit? USSR? Cuba? China under Mao? N. Korea? Venezuela? All nearly total disasters, especially for the poor.
