The Can Tho Floating Market Journey Starts Here
We go on the famous Can Tho Floating Market tour, and this journey starts here at a gift and food shop on the side of the Hau River, Cần Thơ, Vietnam. The name of the floating market is called the Chợ nổi Cái Răng.
This video is a prequel to a second part video in which I will show you the actual floating market tour on the Hou River. Tune in to the next video to see the entire journey.
The sign on the gift shop says:
Hu Tieu Nha Be
Be So 1, Ky Yen Thuong, P. Le Binh, Q. Cai Rang, T.P. Can Tho
There are seemingly multiple locations from which people departed to start their Cai Rang Floating Market tour. You can find lots of blogs on Google that show you spots to depart from, and various boat tour packages, and go with the tour that suits you best.
Cần Thơ, Vietnam is famous for it’s floating market. It is a major tourist draw and a very popular activity for travelers visiting this Mekong Delta region of Viet Nam.
First, you pay the boat ride fee (150,000 vnd per person) and then the boat driver takes you on a short ferry across the river to a gift shop.
After you visit this gift shop for a short while, the boat driver invites you back on the boat and takes you along the river to interact with some merchants, eat some fresh food, and take some pictures. I’ll show this part of the tour in the next video.
This gift shop sells various souvenirs and foods. Some of the food items include dried fish and hu tieu (Vietnamese noodles).
The name of the floating market is called the Chợ nổi Cái Răng. It is best to arrive at about 5-5:30am, so that you can see the sunrise and be on the river during the peak market hours. The vendors usually stop selling at 6:45am.

I am 100% sure that your gf was not 100% raised in VN because her English is so good and her way of talking and dressing is so different from the one of a girl being 100% raised in VN and having never left the country. She is on another level . Actually her lack of knowledge on many Vietnamese stuffs like Com Dep (young rice grain) that she thought it 's oatmeal , tells it all . She doesn't need to hide the truth . In VN being a Viet Kieu or having studied abroad is not a shame , It's even a pride .

Haha 😂 anyone got a polygraph machine I can borrow? Contemporary Vietnamese people in general are learning more English ✅ She’s extremely sharp and good at learning languages ✅ She’s young, doesn’t have ‘traditional Vietnamese housewife’ level cooking experience or food knowledge…which is normal especially in modern times ✅ She dresses fashionably as lots of young women like to do ✅ She was born and raised in Ninh Thuan and her passport has no stamps or visas in it (yet) ✅ She was absolutely born and raised in Vietnam. You can choose to believe whatever you’d like, but I would encourage you to be more open minded about the idea that people won’t always fit into your predetermined stereotypes. The world is full of wonder and awe. Approach it with curiosity and “you’ll learn things you never knew you never knew” (Pocahontas, Colors of the Wind).

@@BigTimeBentley If she is really 100% raised in VN , so you are a very lucky man . Most of the other foreign youtubers ' Vietnamese gf/wives don't reach her level . She must be a professional or a well scholarized person to speak such a good English . She speaks this language as fluently as my niece and nephew who are raised in Canada . BTW which foreign language center did she attend in Saigon ? Or is she having a native English speaker for teacher ? ( you for example ) .

@@hungcuongnguyen293 she’s spoken a lot with me lately but one of the major factors I dated her was her English ability which I noticed as soon as I interacted with her. She was fluent before I met her, she’s not only fluent now in English; she’s eloquent.
Love the Banksy reference. Maybe a good idea for a vlog, there's some pretty good graffiti around Saigon

I wasn't aware of the Banksy reference where did that happen? This comment reminded me of an old friend of mine from high school who purchased an original piece of Banksy artwork in the mid 2000s that he wisely held on to.

3:29 it's hard to find a trash can in Vietnam.....that's why the rivers, beaches, and streets are littered with trash 😭

Even with trash can, some Vietnamese still rather litter instead. The people need to be educated . Vietnam still has a long way to go regarding waste management.

The floating market is not what’s used to be anymore. Due to bridges built to connect the cities together, merchants/sellers in the Mekong delta now can ship products via land instead, and the floating market is just a fraction of what’s used to be.

@@ric44n good tip. I think we've both got strong stomachs because neither of us got sick but maybe people traveling to Vietnam for the first time should keep that in consideration
