Disney misleads Harrison Ford fans. Half the movie is about an African sled master who delivers mail. I'm no history buff but I don't believe Africans delivered mail back in the 1890s in the Yukon.

Except the CGI, too fake looking. Good movie though

Read the book as a kid. My daughter read it last year. Taking her to see it as soon as I get home from this job.

Read this book many times as a kid and thought it was one of the best. back in October of 2011 I had just finished re-reading this book when I had heard my neighbor's labrador had puppies and wanted to give them to his friends. So like any young child i nagged and nagged and begged my dad to get one of them. Finally he gave in and we went over they talked and then they told me to pick one. I had my eye on this jet black puppy that was the goofiest of all of them. My dad said "what do you want to name him?" but i already knew what to call him. Buck! Now almost 10 years later he's an Inseparable member of our family and I couldn't imagine life without him. Thank you Buck for always being there to cheer me up, all the time we played together like goofy weirdos, and thank you for being my best friend.

When the drugs wear off and you realize you haven't been flying around the Galaxy with a wookie.

Watching this won't be a time wasted. It's gonna be interesting!

I read this book, who knows how many times as a kid and now I am 23 and honestly a little excited to see this. I also know they won’t do the book justice with the PG rating. There is a lot of violence in the novel, so there will probably be no dog fights, various human /dog deaths, Buck going berserk, and other various items Buck experiences in the book. It all builds towards Buck learning to adapt and eventually survive in this wild world, he was thrown into while being enticed by the call of the wild.

Have to remember this is a Disney family movie. It was a good movie but I don't think the Yukon had Africans delivering mail by sled dogs back in the 1890s. I went to see this movie because I'm a Harrison Ford fan. Harrison Ford is only in half the movie.

My favorite novel from one of my favorite writers; May you always be like Buck!

Saw the movie last night. Definitely worth seeing

Because they both have the same amount of chromosomes and are members of the genetic family CANIS. That's why it would be impossible to cross an ape which has 48 chromosomes with a human who has 46. That's also why the idea of people evolving from apes or cross species chimera such as a Minotaur is so ridicules to anyone who understands genetics and DNA.

Dogs are descendents of wolves they have very similar DNA so it is VERY possible there are wolf-dogs part wolf part dog just because Dogs look can look so different doesn't mean that they aren't the same it's like how we can have different hair eyes skin height etc

Yesterday I watched an action movie. That dog is so huge that can be hired as a rescue dog. I saw that dog pulling a young lady drowning from a frozen lake. That dog did a good job and can be very useful helping other guys with some jobs.

The Call of the Wild was my favorite book growing up. I read it MANY times. Too many times to count. I’ve always wanted someone to make the storyline into a good movie. However, by watching the trailer, the storyline looks nothing like the novels. With Harrison Ford Ik this is probably an amazing movie, I just wish someone would finally do a movie that doesn’t butcher the novels storyline.

wikipedia shows a few different adaptations including a silent movie. there was a similar movie based on a true story in antartica a few years ago and it was enjoyable even if it did not portray tiger sharks in a good light.

Well, this version is TRULY A BEAUTIFUL movie and an uplifting must see, especially if people have kids, and want a semi "Happy Ending" for their kids to see. At least, the kids will love it! For me, and IMHO, for anyone whom never seen, nor read "The Call of the Wild"...I recommend my favorite version, the 70's one with "Charlton Heston"😍. Well, the book is definitely too gut-wrenching, and you'll need plenty of tissues, but do read it! In the meantime! Go see this movie, "Unwind, Smile, Cheer and Most of All....Enjoy😊! Just don't forget the tasty buttery🍿😋😆😄! Plus, with the storyline and type of dogs they created, its obvious that this movie was mainly intended to be an uplifting version for very young children to enjoy bc they definitely made sure this movie wouldn't frighten little ones.

Excuse me,but I'm 62 yrs old & this isn't only for children. Just watched the invisible Man & am totally disgusted by the way I hey destroy the classic & all the great reviews. People are so separated from God you call a decent film for CHILDREN. It's for people that love or are looking for life out here amongst wolves. This was great movie. Refreshing.

Apparently, you've seen this movie so doesn't the "VERY human-like facial expressions" on all the CGI dogs, and the type of breed of dogs pulling the sled in "The Yukon", along with the PG Rating immediately indicates this movie by "Disney" was mainly changed and made to be a kid-friendly movie, and wasn't made 1st solely intended for the mind of adults? The clue is..."its not an R Rated movie" to cover this great piece of literature's severe harshness and violence! SO! Why bash this good movie for it! But Didn't I state its a "BEAUTIFUL MUST SEE MOVIE" to enjoy, therefore, my comments were for the adults on here bashing this movie, also bashing its CGI. Which is also why I merely recommended people see the 70's movies - most haven't! If your comment was in reference to my "At least, kids will love it"... my meaning is... if the adults watching with or without kids don't or didn't like this movie, then kids or their kids will love it! Most Kids do love "Adventure Movies"😊! As an adult, I still do, plus some cartoons 😄! So I've never stated Adults shouldn't see this beautiful movie! Plus IMHO, I think this type of CGI was very well-done 😊!

Jack London was the real thing. So was The Klondike Gold Rush. The Buck of this movie, and its sets, are not. Too bad! Most of that country is still wild and essentially empty; someone should produce an authentic rendition of the classic novel shot on site.

I don't care about CGI or not. This movie is worth watching. 10 out of 10 for me.

I've always watched the movie and afterwards read the book. The movie leaves you wanting more, and the books gives you the rest. :)

This was amazing but why were the wolves so small?

I hadn't read the book in about 20 years until recently and it's pretty brutal. Great book, great story, but a movie can't do it justice without at least an R rating. That said, this might be a decent family movie loosely based on the story that I'll take my nephews to see.
