Yeah sure, they put some Hollywood propaganda but they portrayed Hitler as a very charasmatic, cultured, and intriguing speaker. 04:10 is an interesting shot. On one side of the audience are all the NSDAP members in their khaki=brown uniforms, on the other half is the rest of the Reichstag in dark-grey business suits. It would indicate that the split is an even fifty-fifty. I'm not sure it was.
@deathtrooper7760

The Kroll Oper was not big enough to house all of them so the NSDAP manged to get a 50/50 split the rest of the gray business suit where mostly when not even all Conservative from the center party, who partly don't like the nsdap but did make some sort of coalition (in the hope to slow them down and limit his power until the voter change there mind and vote for other party's) because there were still enough who liked his ideas. Probably even if the full parliament would be there, they would reach enough support for his law but it wouldn't sound as good as that his law was unanimously decided if in the news would stand majority of the Parliament in favor for the law with heavy resistance from the opposition.

I started reading WW2 at 12 years old. Now I'm 62. I must admit, this may not be 100%, but it does come pretty close to the life of Hitler. Was originally meant to be a 4-part miniseries. I actually enjoyed it. Love docu-dramas and biographies. Especially after reading about a topic, and seeing on screen. I liked the way they actually used real people into the movie. Like at the Beer-hall putsch, the mentioned Gustav Von Karh, Seissor, and Losso, who had the power in Munich in 1923. Good movie.

The thing that irritates about every Hitler movie is they always use an actor who is small by comparison to the actors around him. Robert Carlyle here, Bruno Ganz in Downfall, and Noah Taylor in Max. And all these actors use higher pitched voices, be they natural or acted. Hitler was 5'9". By 1920s, 30s, and 40s standards he was a large man, taller than almost everyone. He spoke in a baritone, and was charismatic as hell. It seems the film industry insists on portraying him as a weenie because audiences can't handle the truth - that he was just like our politicians today.

@@KonstruktiveKritik No. This was a three=hour miniseries that came out in 2003, not 2008. While I initially thought this was a British production, because of all the British acting talent, I was wrong. It was simultaneously released by Canadian and US TV. But it would fit British sensibilities because, as we all know, the Brits are simply obsessed with the history of Nazi Germany, and that is really the one and only reason this movie was made. Nothing to do with any kind of US president, certainly not with any one that was not even in office at any time before 2003.

@@shelbynamels973 I think you might have misunderstood our conversation. The video‘s description asked the following: "Do you see any similarities to recent history?". Thus the first comment was not about the intention/purpose of the movie, but rather about the intention of the uploader when uploading the video and asking said question. Since the person uploaded the video in 2008 and mentioned "recent history", it is likely that they referred to events around the same time.

This movie is horrible. I remember that a Hitler historian the film had hired(Trevor Roper,I believe)actually walked off the movie because they ignored historical fact and just made Hitler into an evil cartoon character.
Good movie.

what is the name of this movie
The thing that irritates about every Hitler movie is they always use an actor who is small by comparison to the actors around him. Robert Carlyle here, Bruno Ganz in Downfall, and Noah Taylor in Max. And all these actors use higher pitched voices, be they natural or acted. Hitler was 5'9". By 1920s, 30s, and 40s standards he was a large man, taller than almost everyone. He spoke in a baritone, and was charismatic as hell. It seems the film industry insists on portraying him as a weenie because audiences can't handle the truth - that he was just like our politicians today.

Officially, his party was called the NSDAP = National Socialistic German Workers Party. The German Socialist parties were entirely different, but were consolidated into the SED + the Socialistic Unityparty of Germany after the war and were the ones in charge in the DDR until the reunification in 1989.

@@rlm2933 Are you kidding me? He provoked wars against the UK and then the USSR two massive super powers with more resources than Germany. Then declaring war on the USA no less which again had way more resources than Germany. Tens of millions of Europeans died from Hitler's racist antisemitic Imperialism. Germany was left in utter ruins with a disgraced reputation thanks to Hitler's failed war.

@@rlm2933 What do you think of Operation Barbarossa being a logistical failure with over over 400,000 German dead in little over 6 months? What do you think of the Einsatzgruppen which shot en mass whole villages of Jews? What do you think of treatment of Soviet prisoners by the Wehrmacht? What do you think of Generalplan Ost? Read an actual well sourced history book and not bullshit online or from fringe far-right groups.

Logica Redux I think I was wrong though. It probably is about the Financial crisis and the election of Obama, because both happened in 2008 when the video was uploaded and it kind of fits the historical context (bad economy + election of a new president).
