    Neither version is in my budget at the moment, I made a rough version of the Budget Mom one in a spreadsheet. I really love putting a good pen to paper though so once I prove to myself I will stick to it I will likely get a hard copy.

    I have used the BBP planner for 2020 and was really disappointed. It was definitely overwhelming for the first several months, but what made it super hard was it is set up to be cash spending and I struggled to figure out how to use it for my credit cards. We use our credit cards like cash and pay them off in full every month but we have multiple cards that we use and there wasn’t a good way to use the planner for my circumstances. I haven’t purchased Jordan Page’s planner, but I did watch her budget boot camp. As I’m not new to budgeting and being aware of my money the first half of the camp was redundant for me but the last half offered some really great information and it definitely suits credit card users much more than Miko’s BBP planner. Still love both girls though! Final thoughts: BBP planner is great for those of you who get to the end of month and say “Where did all my money go? How did my account get so low, I never bought anything big.” It will help you realize when your spending, where your spending, and how all those little transactions really add up at the end of the month. Jordan’s method is better for those who have a partner they are doing this with, as well as those who use credit cards for daily purchasing. Jordan’s method is a more hands off approach so that it doesn’t take you so much time to figure out how much money you have. So if your a compulsive spender use Miko’s BBP planner to help you get a handle on your spending. If you can practice self control and just need a better way to organize your finances and figure out how to save up for the unexpected things and your future then go with Jordan’s.

    I use the BBP as a cashless spender and also use a credit card to pay for things and then pay it off. I use the tracking spenders to separate my credit card and checking acct. Have you tried setting up different pages for different credit cards?

  • @brianandalyssagilliam1013

    @brianandalyssagilliam1013

    3 жыл бұрын

    Amanda Jensen Yes I separate the pages for different cards but we have 4 different cards we use for different things. I also have my husband who spends on those cards as well, and coming up with a process for me to track exactly what transactions went to what category was quite a challenge ( he isn’t on board with the whole budgeting thing in general) I made it work but didn’t find the whole process as helpful as I was hoping. I stuck with it this whole year, and I am very excited to see my year end totals that I’ve spent in each category though!

    Love both of their channels and work! I have TBM BBP workbook for 2021. I haven’t looked into JP’s planner and this was a great walkthrough of both. It seems like JP’s has a more emotional (and family) aspect to it (vision board, meetings, even the numerous events and holiday pages) while Miko’s is more about the numbers (net worth calculators, month to month comparisons). They definitely both have their strengths. TBM workbook is definitely the right one for me.

    I bought the printable version of the BBP and use Happy Planner style rings to put together (recycled from an old planner). I printed the front and back cover on cardstock then laminated for additional support. This way I can add or change things around to fit my needs, print extra pages as needed (like savings trackers and extra spending pages). I think this planner is the most eye opening evaluation of spending habits. I started using BBP 7/2020 and managed to pay off 23,000.00 in debt over the entire year, and prepare for upcoming events. It has worked so well, I even got my 23 year old daughter started. She has money saved for the first time in her life!

    As a college student, I feel like TBM is gonna be more helpful for me to understand my money on a deeper level considering that I’m still trying to understand budgeting and get paid on a biweekly basis. I also feel like the Jordan Page (which I’ve never heard of until now) is a bit too much for me and I also aesthetically dislike the planner guts. So I think I’ll go with the TBM! Thanks so much.

    This is a great video! I just finished budget bootcamp, so I have Jordan’s planner. I like that her philosophy is to set your budget and forget it. It gets too overwhelming for me to track so many sinking funds. I end up just borrowing across them when something comes up that I didn’t expect. I just use my weekly budget to purchase what we need and keep a savings for larger purchases that aren’t needed every month that I can pull from when needed. I do wish there were some aspects of of BBP planner in JPs planner, like the bigger calendar and a place to list out each expected bill to be paid and how much it is. I set my monthly budget and then divide it amongst my paychecks for the month, so I sort of combine both of their strategies to work for me!

    Newbie just found your channel. I did purchase the printable version of TBM. The positive is purchased it once and use it year after year. I printed it in draft mode black and white to save ink. I then developed carpal tunnel in my hands and writing became harder over time. I now have developed an excel spreadsheet sheet following the TBM method. It is so much faster to imput and calculate. Especially once you know what paycheck pays for what. I print a hard copy and place in a binder so my spouse has access to it or if I am on vacation or get sick. Much kinder to my hands and saves me a ton of time. No matter what system you use have a financial manual that will help your spouse or partner should they need to take over the family financial responsibilities. Love both gals just pick one and stick to it. It's hard in the beginning, but over time it gets easier.

    I used TBM BBP workbook for the first time in 2020 and it was great. I never really used the last few pages except the debt and savings where did my money go section. I am not a cash budgeter. I use my debit card for all transaction, so I just track my expenses/spending. I don't think the Jordan Page planner would work for me since I'm paid bi-weekly and it's just me doing all the budgeting. I ordered the printable version of TBM workbook so that I can only print the pages I actually need; which I will be placing on the BIG Happy Planner discs. Great review! Thanks for sharing :-)

    My life completely changed thanks to The Budget Mom's system!!! Kumiko's system made me realize what goals I want to achieve in my life and to push forward to achieve them. I've been following her Budget By Paycheck system for 3 years now and have paid down our debts by 78%. Kumiko also has a Life Rich Planner, if you need to plan out every detail of your life. Jordan Page's productivity program is so incredibly useful, as well as her shelfcooking information and frugal tips. She teaches you how to save money. I did both of her programs since they were free during Covid lockdowns. I am grateful to have found them both. I've become a more rounded person thanks to both of them. 💙💜💙

I'd be real curious as to how well any of these sell, now with that said, I still love to write things down and doodle and take notes with old fashioned pen and paper.... but most people I talk to you don't, they like an app, esp. since they do all calculations for them.

    I really love the BBP planner because it clicks with my thinking, to me it also has fewer “useless” pages since Jordan’s is mainly designed for a joint household. When I get married I will likely bring in some of that joint planning but for now BBP is for me. Love Jordan’s videos though. What might work is getting the digital version of both and printing your own hybrid if there are parts of both you want to use, little bit more overhead but if you use it every year more cost effective.
