The Buckman crabapple

This grafted crabapple tree has a late drop time which is ideal for deer hunters. Buckman Crab originates from Central Minnesota, and was a Dolgo chance seedling grown by whitetail enthusiast Mr. Art Reuck. The Buckman Crab is a very productive tree that produces a very large 2” crabapple that tastes very close to a Dolgo crabapple. This crab apple will be dropping free from the tree from October through winter, and will even keep a few apples on into March. The Buckman crabapple remains palatable to a deer through the hard freezes of winter. This tree is cold hardy down to Zone 3 only when purchased on standard rootstock. Hardiness Zones 3-8

They are sour. Great for making jam because of the abundance of pectin. Just add sugar to taste.
