Yes they are a classic and one of the folding knives that started it all.

Michale’s Blades & More Yes it is. This knife has broken down a 1500lb moose in the middle of the bush and kept on coming.

Michale’s Blades & More When I was a kid there were lots of slip joint traditional knives but the ultimate was to have a Buck on your hip. I wanted one so badly I drove my parents crazy for months and months until I finally got one. I remember thinking I was going to cut the world in half...lol.

I know exactly what you mean I cut my teeth on cheap slip joints and such but once I got a buck there was no going back

Good review of a classic. I’ve collected too many ‘super steel’ knives over the years and I’ve gone back to ‘ole faithful 110. I have a 2005 but I prefer drop point blades so I got the Copper and Clad aluminum lightweight drop point in BOS 420HC with pocket clip. The reason I got the 420HC is for ease of sharpening on backpacking, hiking and hunting trips. I’ll usually pair it with an Ontario RD6 or RD Tanto in 1/4” 5160 steel because again ease of sharpening. And both are Made in the USA and Buck represents Idaho (along with the Buffalo Bore ammo I carry). Especially good for the very rugged, roadless wildernesses of the River Of No Return, Selway-Bitterroot and Caribou-Targhee where dependability is necessary. I’ll occasionally mix in a Gerber 06 manual or Benchmade Adamas for edc.

Great review ! I have far more respect for a review/reviewer when it's about a knife that's been seriously used and tested, rather than just simply unpackaged and admired. Good work ! I don't have this knife...yet...the 055 in my watch pocketnow, but one day I'll add one to keep my Grohmanns company.

What Grohmann do you have? I’ve been recently thinking about adding some slip joints to my collection and it looks like there is some beautiful looking knives on the site.

@@TheBigCanucker So far none of their folders, though I've handled their largest folder years ago. Bought it for a friend who invited me deer hunting state side several times. I have the #4 and #2 fixed blade. Even with big hands, i find that #2 becomes part of my hand. They make great workhorse knives. If you order any of the factory seconds, an email quote from them mentioned $15 or $20 shipping. Good to buy more than one item or go in on an order with somebody. Merry Xmas from a fellow Canucker !

I would love to try out a G10 buck 110 one of these days it sounds interesting and probably lighter then the regular 110 and with a clip it would probably be more functional then my 110.

@@TheBigCanucker I doesn't have a clip sadly I just toss it in my pocket, it's really good, had to sharpen it only 2 times

KNIFEGUY 1701 I know they hold an edge so well especially the Bos heat treated s30v, but it can be a bear to sharpen. I need to resharpen my 110, but I’ve been putting it off.

No matter what knife I pull out, NOBODY is scared of it where I live. Cause I no longer live in Kommiefornia.
