Funny thing is that in Richard Herrings Leicester Square Theatre Podcast interview with Robert Webb. He said "My David" before muttering "fucking hell"

I always love seeing Robert and David together, but the "my David part" was my favorite moment of the series

It's great how when Shappi reveals that Robert calls David "My David", David looks genuinely horrified haha XD

"I had no intention of being cute." --- then cutely bobs his foot up and down :-D

the intro looks like a mitchell and webb sketch, the irony.

I've noticed that ANYTHING that David Mitchell presents or is a regular in, whether it's The Bubble, Was It Something I Said or Would I Lie To You, it is guaranteed that Robert always pops up on at least one episode! You can tell that they love working together by just looking at how they interact with each other and enjoy each other's sense of humour. And you can see that they are genuine friends because they were best man at each other's wedding.

+Supreme Buffalo Exactly. David does more of these panel type shows than Robert and it's not like Robert is getting tons of work these days so it's totally understandable that he'd be a frequent guest on whatever David is hosting.

Robert's defence though: we were talking about the novelist David Mitchell... Shappi: No, we weren't XDDD

rewatching this episode for the line at 6:13 "you are good value" plus the way webb delivers it, is incredible. thats having your comedic timing down .

The premise of this show sounds like something Mitchell and Webb would dream up for one of their sketches.

Exactly! And it would end with one of those beautifully awkward moments as David Mitchell cheerfully reveals the last news item: "Robert Webb's Entire Family Brutally Murdered" or something like that and Webb slowly collapses, sobbing, with Mitchell looking uncomfortably at the camera. It would have made a pretty good sketch, but makes a terrible tv show premise instead. I'm disappointed M and W agreed to be in something this crap.

Before their sketch shows, my US Midwestern mom who homeschooled me used to have me collect implausible news stories and then write a fake one, and the rest of the family would try to guess the fake story. It was a lot of fun for me as an ADHD kid interested in reading and writing, and excellent practice in mimicking the tone and format of a formal news story.

@6:40 Rob's 'badum tish' drum roll for David's joke and all of the Steven Byers bit shows what good friends they are lol You can tell that they both really enjoy each others humour. I suppose I'm stating the obvious really, I just think they work so well together.

That's not right, that if nobody guesses correctly, David keeps all the points. They should be given to charity or humanely destroyed to avoid the appearance of impropriety.

I agree, one can't be too careful. At the very least, I would like some assurances that the proper taxes have been paid on all points, and that the rest of the hard-working UK citizenry aren't subsidizing these points while the fat cats sit back and collect.

I'm really ashamed of this... I foolishly put them next to some of the nega-points I stole from Pointless, and they cancelled each other out. They kind of annihilated each other, like matter and anti-matter. ...Sorry...

It is really irritating that Robert Webb isn't as frequently seen on TV as David. They're both fantastic but i feel Robert just isn't on enough.

I think the problem Webb has is people see him as dumb because of the character he plays in Peep Show so he doesn't get the kind of offers Mitchell does who is seen as intelligent. In actual fact they are both equally intelligent and hilarious, its just one of those things unfortunately. Don't think we have to worry bout him too much hes doing alright for himself lol

thesimpsons17 That's ridiculous! People know Robert and know that unlike David, he is nothing like his character. It could probably be because Robert has i think 2 children and is busy, maybe? And if that were true David would at least would try to have him on "Would I Lie To You?" again lol. It's probably by his choice that he hasn't been TV as frequently as David has. I'm sure that he will come back with something. But yeah, he is doing pretty well as of now :)

He had a baby so just appeared in peep show as a lead and a few other shows as cameos or regulars so he could spend more time at home

I adore these four! Definitely the best episode of a great show.

Roberts face at 2:58 is adorable! You can tell he meant it

I wish there were more as well, although I can see how this show is a lot more high-maintenance than most other panel shows.

Wow Shappi Khorsandi really shone in this episode, couldn't believe how really funny she was...loads of jokes and really quick witted, I was very very nearly crying. Amazing stuff.

I came back to it now to add it to my "Sleep" playlist of videos I know by heart and can listen to to lull my ADHD brain to sleep.

David's laugh at 4:14 love it so much!!

I genuinely thought this was a Mitchell and Webb sketch when it started lol

What I realized watching this is how if it had been made in America, the whole show would have been in the house, full of manufactured conflict and yelling. Here, they turned it into something more thoughtful, funny, and far more entertaining. Pity it didn't last longer!

Probably stupid resistance from stations not allowing their news presenters to do false reports for this show etc.

This show was much better than David's current show. They should bring it back.

The Queen is actually allowed to vote, but chooses not to, which is pretty classy IMO.

The chemistry between the contestants is so good it's not humorous in the same way other panel shows are. Can't say the same for the other episodes, which I haven't seen, but surely there's a good chance that after 4 days they'd loathe each other?

Robert Webb retains the awkwardness of a pimply adolescent.

Poor David. I really enjoy watching him, but he doesn't have much luck getting his shows past the first series. I think sometimes he's just too intelligent for general acceptance.

Problem with this show was the stories were trivial and nobody really cared if they got it right or wrong. Usually when comedians get bored on a panel show, they are funny, but obviously not when they´ve just had a very relaxing week.

This is an amazing concept. They should have kept it going. Though it would have become impossible since Trump entered office. Would have become a show filled with different tweets of his.

Unhappy Shappi? She seemed subdued and didn't smile or laugh as much as the others, especially in the first half.

Knew the vending machine story was the real one. The wii boxing one wasn't so ridiculously unbelievable, but I saw straight through the acting of the woman in the final clip and could tell that, coupled with the ridiculousness of the issue, it wasn't real. The vending machine was the only one that was just normal enough to make sense to me. I'm mostly only proud of this because of how fucking tired I am right now. I'm usually a bonehead when I'm tired. I probably made a bunch of typos in this comment, but I can't even be bothered to check.

Watching the whole Bubble series back now that it's vaguely nostalgic, and after 12 years the only things I remembered being definitely true were David Cameron's wife being pregnant (if only for that terrible 'Wham Bam' headline), a cat getting its head stuck in a tin can, and BBC News refusing to make fake reports for the show.

I've seen two of those guys, but I don't know who that other sheila is...

Too much Robert and David and not nearly enough Shappi.

Difficult for Miranda Hart to really shine to the full extent of her comedic talents here, as there was no opportunity for her to fall over, and they are all sitting down, so her being tall couldn't be effectively hilarious. She did swear in a posh voice though, so two out of three aint bad.
