Mysterium: Secrets & Lies consists of six new characters, six new locations, six new items, and 18 story cards. This latter group of cards can replace the object cards in the game, with each card representing one way in which the ghost died. Now instead of trying to get each investigator to identify an object - a singular item that wouldn't have much nuance to it - the ghost must instead use the dream cards to convey the story of their demise, something far more challenging.
More of the same is always good, but how do the new story cards change up the game? Are they a waste of time or an auto-include from this day forth?

Tempted to make a replacement clock to give a few extra turns and then have both the story and the weapon.
Just bought Mysterium and both expansions as well. Have watched a few tutorials on setup and rules and feal fairly compentent as to how the games is played. Going to play it with my family this christmas for the first time. Would you recommend playing with ALL the cards (characters, locations and so on) in total on the first go?

Not sure what you mean by "all". You always use locations and characters and weapons or story cards regardless. I do however believe the story cards replace the weapons, but feel free to maybe start off with weapons and then move on to story cards and make your own judgement. I do recommend that unless you have very young people in the family that you start on Medium difficulty. The Easy mode is literally a cakewalk because of all the crows you get and at most should only be done as maybe your first ever game to get used to the mechanics.

Thanks for the input! I will for sure play on medium then. What I was wondering about was if I should play with all location cards, suspect cards, ghost cards etc. from all the games (both expansions and the original and shuffle them together), or if I should play with only the cards from the original and then add the other cards in once we experience getting the same ghost cards played for the same persons or locations. Regardsless of that, I think I will try with the story cards instead of the weapons, like you suggested :)

Ahhh I see. Yes by all means shuffle them together. They don't add complexity or difficulty, just more variety.

Don't know but I feel they would still support the game.
