Which is your favorite; LOG 1, 2 or Buu's Fury?

Buu's Fury is just perfectly designed as RPG, there is so many dungeon sections and each characters have different abilities, they are still too easy though, probably was meant to be played without stats modifier. And lacking in post game contents too they should just drop a feature for boss rush with increased strength/level lol.

I love how Broly and Janemba were imserted smoothly into the story of the game despite being non-canon movie villains.

Well, back then no one was really arguing whether or not the movie villains were noncanon. Especially since we thought Gt was the end of Dragon Ball, so we used to talk alot about AF.

@@aweirdredtoad3637GT I mean is still a valid ending. I’ll take everything as a fused timeline just cause I love the designs at the very least of most every new and old design. Even the ones not by Toriyama. I’ve even enjoyed things in the Dub of GT, and hell man I can get enjoyment out of the worst movies in the series. I just wish the games didn’t avoid GT content. Like even if you hate the series. Hell fighter 17 as an alternate skill set from regular 17, Legic, Oceanus Shenron, hell gimme all the shadow dragons. Lemme have that mole fight Gokden Frieza.

I’m guessing the reason they dropped “the legacy of Goku” name is because Goku didn’t do THAT much in any saga after Frieza. the second game shouldn’t really be named after him either. he’s literally dead for a part of the last 3 seasons of the show

Yeah I agree, that’s likely part of it. This was actually my point in my LOG2 review why it should not carry the LOG name lol. But this game does have significantly more goku than that one so, none of it really makes sense lol

Fun Fact: If you eat the senzu beat that was supposed to be given to Videl early in the game, you'll get 255 senzu beans.

While Legacy of Goku II is "the game that can do no wrong" to me, I have to concede how cool the enhancements and just overall passion are in Buu's Fury. Can't help but imagine what remakes of the first two LoG games would look like if they were done in the style of Buu's Fury but with much less grinding and with II's balance. Funnily enough, making Vegeta your tank fits his Ultra Ego form like a glove. Speaking of which, LoG games for Super or even GT would be absolutely sick.

Couldn’t agree with you more! Honestly, the lack of difficulty/grinding is the ONLY area where this game has flaws, in my opinion. But, a game being too easy/characters being too OP does really kill it for me, that’s why LOG2 has that slight advantage. If they were to buff the enemies a bit, Buus Fury would be a 10/10 in my books That would be cool, since GT Transformation certainly doesn’t count lol

Buus fury definitely the best i feel bad for them when they were rushed to make log1 i hope one day we can get a remake collection of all of them

Back when I was in like elementary school my friend got me this game as a birthday gift & it was my first introduction to dbz in general, so it’ll always be one of my all time favorite dbz games, I still play it from time to time

Buu's Fury is the game that makes the GBA worth buying, that and Advanced Guardian Heroes.... and Astro Boy: Omega Factor. (Edit: Also Gunstar Super Heroes and Klonoa Heroes: The Legendary Star Medal)

My three favorite gba games ever. Lol your absolutely right,also the tmnt games,Kirby games and sonic games as well derserve honorable mentions.

While I hated the level walls in buys fury, it’s one of my favorite DragonBall games. I even went for super gogeta and maxed out everyone’s levels. I think that LOG 2 is a small bit better

I grew up with only LOG 1 + 2 and always wanted this game. Always heard ppl shit on it but playing it as an adult- it blew me away! Thank you for making a proper video on this masterpiece, it’s about time someone did it right for this game!!!

@@mysteriousthirteen It still makes me sad that Webfoot (The LOG series developers) wanted to make a fourth game with Battle Of Gods and Revenge Of F content. Maybe a possible U7 Vs. U6 tournament as well. But they weren't able to...it makes me proud though because like Funimation itself, Webfoot was another Texas based company. I'm from Texas too.

I loved all the legacy of Goku games. They stuck to canon and filler with the dub funamation soundtrack. That game was amazing.

Recently mastered this game on RetroAchievements! It's still one of my favorite games of all time! LoG2 was good too! But LoG1... needs a mod community to remake it. Also should make Dragon Ball game in this style as well!

My favorite dbz games from childhood are between Buu's Fury and Tenkaichi 3. Shoutout to dumping all of your level ups into one stat and BREAKING the game. Str = you become Saitama. Pow= ohko with energy attacks. End= 1 damage from most attacks. One of the very first games that I "broke".

This is for me top 10 BEST GBA game. Is peak RPG Dragon Ball Z, everyone knows about legacy of Goku 2 and Buu's Fury for a reason, have content and a LOVE of charm.

Agreed! I really miss games like these

As a kid I found the high level Gohan gate near his house early game and tried grinding to that level for days straight on the low level enemies near his house. I also got this game 5 separate times. Either losing it, or getting stuck. I was really stuck on the part with the bandana because I read it as banana and for years I couldn't figure out how to get that dragon ball. Then one random playthrough I equipped it and got in, I was hyped to finally play the rest of the game xD still own this and the other legacy of gokus

That is too funny 😂 it was a pain on my OG playthrough also because they don’t really explain where to get the bandanas, so I searched through every shop before randomly coming across one on the airship lol. But that must have felt incredible to finally get passed that part

@@mysteriousthirteen it was. Another thing I really loved was this games glitches. Actually on my first playthrough I got ko'd as Gohan near the edge of the ring when he fights spopovitch, the revive crystal will have you move over slightly when you get up, you end up on the grass and you can walk back into the building. It basically replays the tournament and leaves your super Saiyan yellow bar on you in base. You can also get 99 senzu beans this way, but it's easier to just eat the one you get from korrin. Also flying out of kamis look out as a super Saiyan glitches the map and makes it so Goku goes super Saiyan 3 instead of super Saiyan in the buu cut scene.

I don’t think I ever had any of those happen to me, unfortunately lol. Wish I had this knowledge prior to my most recent playthrough, would’ve been cool to experiment with these. I’ll have to look up some vids on the subject

@@mysteriousthirteen those are just the ones I know about, it doesn't affect gameplay too much, I know of one other one that makes an extra goten/trunks appear when they fuse to fight buu, but other than that it's mostly small visual glitches.

@@mysteriousthirteen oh and also there's a reference to legacy of Goku 2 in Gohan's class. I forget what it was about but an NPC in legacy of Goku 2 tries putting a capsule inside of a capsule. And something bad happened to him. In one of Gohan's classss a professor will say "And that's why we don't put capsules inside of capsules"

I love Legacy of Goku 2 and while i prefer its difficulty way more than Buu's furys, Buu's furys collecting and post game stuff is just fantastic. Legacy of Goku 2 was kind of mediocre in this regard, since stat capsules were limited and unlocking Hercule was pointless, if it had some type of boss rush mode just for Hercule that wouldve unlocked an alternative ending where he beats up all those bad guys, that wouldve been 10/10. Also Buus fury can be harder if you stop using stat points and only use items and equipment, its essentially the hard mode of the game. Man we need a 16bit Legacy of Goku 4 that covers either all 4 arcs of Z, GT or all arcs of Super. (That or a sequel to attack of the saiyans)

Omg I remember beating this as a little kid and not really understanding how the leveling worked. I remember I just put everything into one stat lol it was so much fun to play on the game boy advance sp. this and Metroid fusion were my absolute favorites.

I enjoyed both games but liked buus fury more. I can agree that buus fury was easier tho. However, i made my own in game system that made the game much more difficult by basically using 1 stat per level up and assigning better equipment to earlier unlocked characters or something else similar. (The game assumes you use all the stats so later characters seem stronger accordingly)

I just finished playing through this game for the first time since childhood recently. Its all about the old guy in west city who sells lazarus crystals, they revive you on death. Also theres an exploit earlier in the story that can get result in 255 senzu beans haha. 😂

My apologies on a super late reply I've been using my TV for KZread and didn't see this until now when I was on my phone haha. But yeah when Yajirobe gives you the one for Videl during the tournament, just eat it so you none in the inventory and then go do the cut scene. After it you'll have 255 in the inventory it's crazy, I found it on an old gba cheat website if I ever find it again I'll link it.

When i found all the items to unlock gogeta, i lost my shit. Best game ever

One of the BEST feelings

The first Legacy of Goku game was one of the only games that I actively disliked and was upset with. I had gotten the two in one Legacy of Goku gba cartridge and was excited to try the games out as I was/am a huge dbz fanboy and was loving my new Gameboy Advance SP. As a kid, I had no standard for what really made games "good" and pretty much based everything on my own personal enjoyment (which is something I still strive to do today because I'd hate to become some uptight cynical critic). After loading up that first game and experiencing the poor movement coupled with a horrible flight mechanic, I was still content to see what the game had to offer. But after encountering that first dog and having the worst fight of my life against that thing, I was turned off from the game and its janky hitboxes. Yet, for some reason, I gave Legacy of Goku 2 a try. Backed to the main screen and selected that second game. What then proceeded to follow the worst dbz game I had ever played, was quite possibly one of the best dbz games I had ever played. They were two entirely different games to me and I didn't believe they were made by the same people. Not long after one of the most defining video game playthroughs of my childhood, I had managed to pick up Buu's Fury. I had no idea it was a direct sequel to the first two LOG's and was just looking for another dbz game to try. So imagine my surprise and delight upon starting the game and realizing my precious Legacy of Goku was back and better than ever covering the Buu saga. As an adult today with much more experience in video games in general, I can see and acknowledge the faults of say Buu's Fury compared its predecessor as you have mentioned and I definitely agree. However, as I'm sure many of you can relate, none of that stuff detracts from the wonderful experiences and childhood memories of playing these fantastic games. I didn't expect to type out a comment this long, sorry lol.

Just read this whole comment haha. I had a very similar experience although I never got the 2 in one LOG bundle, I always thought it was a terrible idea because of how different the first two are. @@mysteriousthirteen which is a shame too as while theres nothing wrong with that at the time. i dunno, this day and age with the brand being more faithful in the music and translations to the japanese version of the anime (look. as much as i like faulkoners tracks i *vastly* prefer the tracks they replaced when i finally got to hear the majority of zs japanese score) that the legacy of goku trilogy kind of ages like milk in that regard. honestly i think there should be rom hacks of log 2 and 3 that makes the music score and script more like what you'd see if you were a newcomer to the series today.

I actually prefer Buus fury myself Sure, it was easier than legacy but the other gameplay addtions were just so much better. I didn't care Also, I'm one of the weirdos who likes the boo arc more than cell

The game is so easy I got late game before using stat points because I was a dumb kid who didn't realize how stat points worked I was use to legacy of Goku 2 giving me stats automatically

Wow been a huge fan of this trilogy but never heard that 2 is more popular than 3. 2 has always felt like nothing more than an intermediate version of 3. Slightly worse game play physics and sprites. Idk man might not be as much of a consensus as you think

I tried to play his emulator called DBZ buus fury the hard way n it's fine. They literally start u off with almost 0 pts in the stats for each character so u'll have to grind which is ok with me. I didn't continue to play because I wanted to do it my own head cannon, like if there's 7pts in Strength, 8pts in Power, 6pts in Endurance. In my world Power should equal all 3 combined. So before I started leveling up I would have to get 21 pts into power before I would start the rest of the characters chapter. It was the equipment. I couldn't see some of these characters warring alot of the items so I just canceled.

favorite gba game ever. always hated finding the dragon balls when you play as goten & trunks. everything else was great
