Am I the only one who finds this short film strangely uplifting? Like, in the end, after confirming that the other woman was indeed planning to kill her, instead of being scared like before, the shy woman actually squared her shoulders, her facial expression changed, she seemed to have become calm and confident, and she made the decision to fight for her life. She spent her life being scared, but now that she actually has a reason to be scared, she finds courage. She finally stopped being a sheep.

Not really, as she is already famous.

The first time watching this, I thought Mattie was a sheep. But a sheep wouldn’t be as cautious as Mattie. A sheep would walk into the house carelessly and not notice anything until it’s too late. Dogs are vigilant and always on guard. Mattie was actually searching her house and instinctively got within arm’s reach of the kitchen knives. The very first shot shows Mattie off to the side, by herself, stalking her prey. She knew from the beginning she would have to kill Olivia after the threat was made and she didn’t want to. That’s why I think she asked for a new partner. She wanted to wait to kill like Olivia claimed to have wanted. The actress who played Mattie was amazing in the final scene. That smirk told it all.

@@CarbonGlassMan yes, but no....remember, she and the shy woman were bridge partners. this implies a commonality. she RECOGNIZES her own. and this fits because at the end she indeed squares are shoulders and is prepared to fight. fight for what? fight for the sheep. before the sheep can be fed upon, the wolves must fight each other for the rights.

I don't see it quite that way. Wolf in sheep's clothing implies that she was always a wolf. I see it as she has always been pushed around, and disregarded. By her husband, by the other ladies in town, etc. She's never been backed into a corner like this, though. At the end, when she straightens up her back, and her expression begins to change, she's realizing that she CAN. for the first time in her life, SHE CAN!.

At 11:50 I expected the lady to throw the knife at the housewife, but then she barked. That scared the living hell out of me. And then the camera panned to the knife in the fruit cake, and it really demonstrated "The wolf in a sheeps clothing" metaphor.

I’ve been hooked on OMELETO for days now. Netflix is sending me emails. Tubi is texting me..hhahhahahhahahhah

The bark, freaked me out!! Love the look at the ending, looks like this sheep fights back. Loved it.

What I gather from this film. Is that Maddie although shown as timid and unsure is then classified as the sheep by her bridge partner Olivia. Olivia thinks of herself as the hunter, A dog. After the second watch, I noticed that Maddie is indeed a dog as well one who hasn't had a good fight in years and has grown complaisant. And like most she loses her edge over time until she is absolutely sure the threat is real and that a worthy adversary is with her midst. And as she realizes that the threat she thought she was a misunderstanding was actually, a real challenge you see the fight within her reemerge. Because let's face it who doesn't want a challenge for a worthy adversary. I can only imagine what Olivia's face will look like when she learns this fight is actually dog vs dog. Well, that's my take away. Great performances kudos to all involved

The psycho woman thought she found the perfect sheep, but the shy womans small actions (back straight, shoulders squared, smirk) & the view of her knife in the fruitcake indicate that she's the real threat, she wins & most likely kills the psycho first. She's the wolf. 😉

For those who already watched it all, go back to 1:58 and check Olivia's expression carefully. It's very subtle, but noticeable: she is already getting internally triggered by Mattie's personality at this point. Superb acting by Sharon Lawrence in this as well by all the cast. Loved this short.

and this is how Maddie turned into the Joker

when Olivia says "I like to wait" and Mattie arches her eyebrow and looks at the knife, I was actually expecting her to stab Olivia and say, "Well I don't"

Nice turn of events. After confirming the threat was real... premeditated and likely, this “sheep” faced it head on and pulled out her “only when necessary” primal instincts like the radio commentator was talking about as she was sleeping. Suppressed it but pulled it out at the right time instead of glorying in it in evilly in the light of day like the self absorbed condescending woman. I LOVED seeing that eyebrow raised. Great acting.

I like Maddie’s look of, “so this is how’s its gonna be” at the end. Also, I can’t stop thinking of her as Mrs. Popowski in Sabrina the Teenage Witch. The woman who manages the Slicery.

The first lady they showed...she is a wonderful character actor I’ve seen in countless films.

The last second the sheep saw the blade I felt a glimmer of hope...

She’s not a sheep she’s a wolf. The dog is a goner😂

Maddie’s not a sheep OR a wolf… She’s the hunter!

Something about the music and the look of assuredness on Mattie's face at the end gives me a sort of John Wick-esque vibe to her character. I don't imagine her as a former hitwoman, but I can imagine she's had to drop bodies in her younger days. It doesn't feel like it's just an awakening, but a re-awakening. Maybe her seeming shyness and timidness is a result of her having tried to put that life behind her, continuing to struggle to feel like she belongs in the normal, bland world, and the sudden appearance of a psycho who would seemingly disrupt everything. Mattie is a wolf that's been in sheep's clothing so long she's forgotten how to be a wolf. Once it's fully sinks in that Olivia is what she thinks she is, she realizes it's time to roll, and wolf awakens.

1st rate actors. It was nice to see Beth Grant(Mattie)as a sympathetic character instead of the prim fundamentalist prude. Sharon Lawrence is always a delight. Excellent movie.

I was about to watch asmr and then watch this instead. I forgot that im watching a horror film so i got my volume to max, forgetting im not watching asmr. But the european ladys accent is splendid

Not sure how I feel about that one but when she starting barking my heart skipped a bit. 🤭

Till the end the movie made me think she wants to kill her because she's a bad playing partner but in the end I realized, it has nothing to do with the game at all. She's just somehow insane and likes to kill people, but apparently enjoy to let them know upfront and maybe enjoy their fear, and she has chosen her playing partner to be her next victim. So when she talks to her, she actually means what she's saying. When she says she enjoyed the game and didn't mind losing that's actually the truth and totally unrelated to her killing desire.

A dog eats dog world....in time, we learn....to survive....

they are both wolves in sheeps clothing. olivia recognizes her own, which is implied by them being bridge partners. the rest of the women are the true sheep. they must duel it out to have rights over the other women. it's metaphoric. there's really not killing or blood-shed per se. these are hard core bridge competitors who want bragging rights. the murderous theme is used as a lens for bridge bragging rights. olivia and the shy woman are the best two bridge competitors. the shy woman, was playing sigma female, olivia alpha. olivia threatens the shy woman to make her a worthy advesary. this film can be viewed as a horror, but also as a film featuring competitive, and otherwise bored housewives absolutely intent on winning. this film is in 5th place for me. it was perfect. the acting was extremely good. ridiculously good too. no faults. like timing and subtlties, show offs. amazing. bravo! someone below said give olivia the oscar just for the barking at the end. that's it in a nutshell. but this film is beyond oscar. i'm gunna watch it again.

This great little short made me jump twice; the first film to do that in along time.....that is the production team's great achievement.
