I trained at the Gracie Academy in L.A. (Torrance) about ten years ago and was in the same classes as Brian Ortega. He was a scrawny teenager back then but he was getting a rep in class for his triangles. I think he just got his blue belt around then, can't remember. But he couldn't have been more than 130lbs then. Rener and Ryron (and sometimes Ralek) Gracie were our instructors. I saw that Rener corners Brian now. I just came across that Brian is doing MMA so this is quite the surprise. Good for him.

Amazing story. The best part is that Ortega is passing along this gift to others. What the mind can "conceive and believe" it can achieve, but at the early stage of his career his mind could not conceive and believe, his two coach passed in his mind these two gifts and thus the result is his life being elevated. I saw this mindset in McGregor, but money took over McGregor's mind and he lost his way. Money is important, but don't let it rot your mind... Stay humble.

Saw a fight with Brian where I believe he was losing the whole fight, but managed to pull a wicked submission toward the end of the 3rd round. Watching that fight and his interview afterward - really appreciated that. Not everybody's got the toughness to stay in there and figure out a way to pull it out. This story just amplifies that respect even higher - for Brian, but also Rener and Danny.

This needs to be longer
Love this ☺️, now who's cutting onions in my room. 😢
One of my favorite fighters to watch. His destruction of Guida was art!
Fav fighter
Saw a fight with Brian where I believe he was losing the whole fight, but managed to pull a wicked submission toward the end of the 3rd round. Watching that fight and his interview afterward - really appreciated that. Not everybody's got the toughness to stay in there and figure out a way to pull it out. This story just amplifies that respect even higher - for Brian, but also Rener and Danny.
One of my favorite fighters!!!!!
This kids a class act! Proud of him. Way to represent, Brian...in character, perserverance, respect and in Raza!!!!!
Dude has a good heart I respect that hope to see him fight for the belt soon
2:03 i envy that moment, inspired by how Mr. Ortega responded. He is legend in living. And Mr. Luhrsen is also legend in living, a brilliant man .! I wish all good luck, the whole family.
Where can i watch this story now?
Beautiful!
I love you Rener for changing lives everyday! #jiujitsuforlife
This kid is a great fighter with an attitude to match...future champ for sure

Brian is a great fighter, I was so shocked at him beating Cub Swanson, Cub is one of the best in the game so it shows you how good Brain is. Hope he has a great career.

Im So Glad To See More Raza Coming Up In The UFC!!! We Are Hard Workers And Hard Fighters Tell The End!!! I use To Be A Fighter Me And My Brother. And Seriously I Truly Believe We Would Have Been Great! But When My Carnal Past Away.. I Gave Up! I Lost That Will To Fight To Live... He was older Then me By 11 Months He Was My Best Friend! I just Remember Putting Him On The Ground. And Telling Myself "I Am No Warrior, And I'll Never Fight Again" Why Did You Go Brother? Why Did You Leave Me Here By Myself? Now Mylife Is Empty! I'll Never Get That Chance To Tell...... How Much I Love You Big Brother..
Breath Taking
Good video, but what was the point? I can see if he was a huge superstar or fighting for the title. The timing just seems odd for a "life story" mini-Documentary. I did enjoy it though
Need this
Best jitsu I've ever seen

dude will be champ one day. Just watch!!
That's an amazing piece ! Great to see all your success inside the cage and more importantly outside of it. Congrats on beating Cub Swanson,, a legend.
