Society has told women not to climb mountains? What about Elizabeth Hawkins-Whitshed, who has climbed the Bishorn first? Apparently it was, even back then, possible for women to climb mountains, if wanted. Furthermore, what about Tamara Lunger or Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner. They are in the mountains since ages... Therefore it is incorrect to claim, that society has told women not to climb mountains. ... I think, even in 50 years there will be more men than women in the mountains, due to the obviously different nature of men and women. ... Adidas, you lost me as a customer.

Starke Worte, lieber Frederik. Anstatt Dich mit dem Sachinhalt meiner Aussage auseinandersetzen, interpretierst Du meine Kritik vermutlich als Kritik an der sportlichen Leistung des Teams, die ich aber gar nicht geäußert habe. Hier musst Du besser werden.

"sorry not sorry": Strong words, again. But this time from an international multibillion dollar company. As I stated, I do not diminish the tour, nor the climbers, nor their experiences, nor their told stories. It is just untrue, that society has told women not to climb mountains. There is, not very difficult to find, a Wikipedia article about female mountaineers, which mentioned the ascent of Marie Paradies at Mont Blanc in 1808. Thus, women have been climbing mountains ambitionously since over 200 years. @ Adidas: Do not encounter historical facts with feelings or false accusations. You have to improve arguing.

The few women who climbed in the early days were inspirational for sure. But exactly that: few. And definitely not smiled on by society in those days. Freda du Faur, the first woman to summit Aoraki Mt Cook, needed to take not one guide but a second one as a chaperone. She would change out of her cumbersome skirt the second she was out of sight of civilisation 😊 I am glad things have changed. Raphaela was answering a question about the strength of the rope team, we are not out to tell the history of female mountaineering but celebrate the fact it’s possible to have six strong women together on some exciting summits today. And to cement our friendship on the way. None of us are anti-men, either. Just girls having fun.
