A rare and perhaps the only 10/10 I sincerely believe that you couldn’t do a better adaptation. I don’t think no film or series beat the extended editions.

When the cold of winter comes Starless night will cover day In the veiling of the sun We will walk in bitter rain But in dreams I can hear your name And in dreams We will meet again When the seas and mountains fall And we come, to end of days In the dark I hear a call Calling me there, I will go there And back again

Indeed, this melody is my favorite. What a beautiful and touching piece of music!
I'm still amazed to this day how Peter Jackson and crew managed to do it. They litteraly made a perfect trilogy. Not just a perfect interpretation of a book series, but quite litteraly a perfect trilogy all together. The love and passion for Tolkien's work shows through the screen im every piece of dialoge, score and performance.

I think that a large part of that comes from the inspiration of the magnificent source material and the respect that is owed to it as a cultural tradition(?). I find it fascinating how people are drawn to literature from a writer whose religious philosophical view of life inspired so much about the books. So many great works of art in the past were divinely inspired and somehow touch us in a way that is life-affirming and fulfilling, whilst modern works of art seem to affirm a pointless and empty existence.

Peter Jackson is absolutely clueless when it comes to the intricacies of making music. In one of the 'making of' videos, when they are scoring the music, and he wanted something to sound different, they had someone there who could 'translate' what Peter wanted so that the conductor understood what he meant. It was very funny to see.

I know a lot of people say Tolkein probably wouldn't like the films, I'd still love for him to have been able to see them, but I'd love to be able to have him listen to the music. They just captured everything perfectly in the soundtrack ... it's just so beautiful.
I always thought The Fellowship of the Ring was the best volume of the three. They were all superb beyond belief, but the first one was a clinic on how to write and film the perfect narrative. It will never be surpassed.

It was gloomy December of 2001. I remember getting the Fellowship of the Ring soundtrack on a cassette. I had no knowledge about the movie but I've read the books a few times already. I don't think I will ever experience that magic ever again.
I would just be bawling my eyes out if I was in the crowd. It’s achingly beautiful.

Crying here. For two reasons, one, the song and all it represents is wonderful beyond words, two, I still miss my time playing cello in a orchestra... Luckily I'm at home and only my husband can see my red eyes and nose.

this the heaven , what a lovely music en voice
This is beautiful in every note, you can hear the story
This music never gets old; it is eternal; truly timeless.
I adore the little touches, like the decor on the music stands, the principal violinist who wears a One Ring replica, the choir members with elf-looking ear cuffs and Hobbit-like hair accessories. Even to the soloist with the very Eowyn blonde braid and ethereal gown. *chef's kiss
This music is so melancholic and so powerful at the same time. Heartbreaking.

The breaking of the fellowship was sad.. But it had to happen that way. Frodo and Sam had to take the ring away from the others or it would corrupt them slowly over time. The immortal elves, the brave men, the dwarves and their vast underground marvels... None of them could resist the ring. Of all the great races all capable of great deeds, the only ones who could resist were a couple of Hobbits.. Hairy footed halfings that live in hobbit holes. And the others all had their parts to play elsewhere... Aragorn had to see boromirs sacrifice, it made him take his first step toward becoming king and embracing his heritage. Merry playing with the palantir confused sauron and he thought he had the ring, causing him to attack before he was completely ready since he thought he had the ring in gondor. Nome of these things would have happened if the entire fellowship survived and tried to get into mordor, it would have never worked. Such a great story.
i want to like this 9999 times
This song is one that just makes me feel like everything is okay every time I hear it. This is an absolute beautiful version! Goosebumps multiple times! Well done!

From the singing started I squeezed out a whole dang lot of tears.
Magnifique, et Christine Nonbo toujours divine!!!!!!!!
What a privilege to hear this LOTR theme from a live orchestra that is absolutely amazing and true to the original theme from the movies. Thank you so much Danish Symphony Orchestra!
I am listening to this and I have tears in my eyes and goosebumps, 'cause it is remembering me of a good time, when I saw this movies in the theater, I was 15 years old, life was so much simpler and better. To this day, I never experienced something like LoTR again and I'm afraid, I never will again in our lifetime.

Man, it's just crazy how much emotion LotR soundtrack and movies get out of me every single time. Tears again.
It doesn’t happen often to me but sometimes a certain song or a piece causes me to almost have an out of body experience. Her beautiful voice coupled with this gem of a piece just transports me mentally out of my office and into the rolling grassy hills of the Shire. 😊

This is one of the best and most moving pieces from the soundtrack. Shore did a tremendous job on the soundtracks of all three movies.

That gives me goose bumps
I love the interpretations of this orchestra & choir & soloists = they are magical !!!! ❤
This music always just feels right. The flutes are always a delight to hear. As masterful the movies are on their own, they wouldn’t be the same without all the great music Howard Shore worked on. Let us also pay credit to Enya.
