Welcome to our the Breakers in Newport, Rhode Island. The breakers, located on Ochre Point Avenue, is a grand mansion that was built in 1895 for the Vanderbilt family.

    Can you imagine what those that enjoyed this lifestyle would speak about the hurried and almost antiseptic in design lifestyle we have today? Thank you for the tour. I would truly enjoy visiting it myself someday. 😊

    Vanderbilts still live in the top floor. In the 1980s, a friend of my parents, who knew the Vanderbilts, invited me to accompany him on his annual visit to the Breakers. I foolishly said no and I live to regret they decision.

    @@fd9987 No...I communicated with America's Castles creator Joe Van Riper while assembling my library of America's Castles. He interviewed the Countess for AC...she was a lovely person. ❤️🙏

    I think of all the people who built these houses and how they kept builders and architects, and artist working, not to mention all the staff it took to keep these places looking their best. Giving people work is some of the best things you can do for people to earn a living and build homes of their own even if they are not as grand as this.

    Yes, you have a wonderful speaking voice, just perfect for this type of narration, but going a little slower would really use it to it's maximum potential.
