I don't think his results proved doubters wrong, no one is necessarily saying he isn't good or skilled, I certainly can admit that MegD is a much more talented player than myself; What people are saying about him is that his play style is boring to watch, infuriating to play against, and the exact opposite of why nearly everyone else plays the game. Yes, other players can be passive, like the example you mentioned with Sandstorm. However, to compare the levels of passiveness between him and MegD is like comparing a sports car to a moped; they're so wildly different that it's silly to even compare them to one another. Props to MegD, but that doesn't mean that I will enjoy watching him play live in a tournament, or even watch his games on VODHALLA.

How did I miss this? This is awesome! MegD is probably the player that has most radically changed how I play. Before first watching him, I was a new Jaeyun player swapping from Lucien. Lucien works very well for an aggressive playstyle, but as fun as greatsword is, it needs a slower pace to let it shine. Not only that, but I was beginning to realize that I do best when formulating a plan, and tend to lose in scrambles. When I first saw MegD, I didn't see a passive player, I saw a way to get me the time and space to formulate a plan for each opponent. I could rely on letting my opponents make mistakes early on to keep me in the match while I downladed how they moved, setting up for my greatsword in the endgame. And most importantly, I learned that a guaranteed punish, no matter how small, is better than an optimal punish. It doesn't matter how much more damage I could have gotten from a sword dlight combo, because the nlight that I KNEW would hit still gave me damage and stage positioning. I do get hate from people calling me passive, but I don't mind as long as they keep charging headfirst into a greatsword slight. So thank you, MegD, for showing me a way to play to my strengths. Also the slowdown edits every time the MegD tech was used is peak editing.

and, there's a chance, like hbox, that he'll become more aggressive as well. This is a super good point! A lot of the doubters or haters didn't particularly dislike his skill or deny it. It's the presentation that it was delivered. On top of that sword on a defensive character also is not too exciting either. Which would further propel the image of him being boring. So the part about people not liking him/watching him is true it's not that deep. Disliking a person only takes a fraction of a first impression But to truly gain respect in your unique approach to the game takes a lot of skill and hard work. s a huge fan of both music and grilled cheese sandwiches, I have to say that the Grilled Cheese Obama Sandwich song is easily one of my favorite songs of all time. From the first time I heard it, I knew that it was something special that I would want to listen to again and again. The opening guitar chords immediately drew me in, and I found myself tapping my feet along with the beat as the lyrics began. The playful and lighthearted tone of the song instantly put a smile on my face, and I couldn't help but sing along to the catchy chorus. But what really impressed me about this song was the clever way that it paid tribute to one of America's most beloved former presidents. The lyrics were full of witty references to Barack Obama's love of grilled cheese sandwiches, and I found myself laughing out loud at some of the clever wordplay. As I listened to the song, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia for the simple pleasures of childhood. The idea of a perfectly toasted grilled cheese sandwich evoked memories of lazy afternoons spent with friends, enjoying a snack and talking about our favorite things. But even as I reveled in this sense of nostalgia, I couldn't help but feel a sense of hope for the future. Barack Obama was a president who inspired millions of people with his vision of a more inclusive and equitable America, and the Grilled Cheese Obama Sandwich song captured that spirit of hope and optimism perfectly.

In person sitting next to someone all the effects you feel online become so much realer and intense. From the thrill of winning to the worst feelings of being hallow after throwing a match. Timing out your opponent in long mental periods would definitely do a mental toll. As for online and offline the game pretty much plays the same. Faster string weapons do a bit better offline tho.

It Is Just BH tbh In Other games usually players have a certain set of characters Who are divided in classes BH Is really Just play however you want with whatever you want. It Is a good thing? Yes, in that way everyone can adapt to the Legend they like more It's not the best thing when you have 8 minutes for One single match where you can wait for the timeout doing nothing Other than dodging and/or waiting for punishes (with also being able to do every Other thing every Other Legend can do). I also don't think adopting the same playstyle would be beneficial to the game, unless players suddenly start to enjoy it

its most likely the helpnesses someone feels when they believe they are putting their all into something and not getting the disred outcome immediately. Fighting games are p good at giving the match results away very fast and people like to know if they are better or not immediately (some do mainly the impatient ones) SO when they are not immediately guaranteed the win they get upset and resign

Yeah but that doesn't mean that his playstyle and him as a player isn't deserving of hate and scrutiny. If you're style of gameplay is to not play the game to the point of making some of the most experienced players in the game stop playing against youm you cannot expect an absolute ounce of excitement. In general the video seemed to act like most of his haters said he didn't have results. Few people thought that, it's more they just think he's terrible to watch, showcases the problems with the game, and entire gameplan is to not play the game until the other person does and messes up because of it.

Do you guys not understand how funding for tournaments work? Yes, he’s playing to win, but at the same time, if isn’t entertaining the people watching it, that will lead to LESS viewership which leads to LESS sponsorships, which ultimately leads to less money and the game’s esports scenes dying out. That’s why you often see tactics like these try to get snubbed out. A great example was the guy in Jeopardy a while back who strategically played in a way that got him wins but made the game less fun for the viewers and participants, and was considered a blight on the series.

I dont play Brawlhalla at all, didnt even know it had Esport. But i highly respect Megd bc he does the one thing people hate and uses it to his advatage. And thats patiance and the waiting game, i have a set amout of time in a match imma use all of it. Its just gonna make your opponent impatiante, frustrated, salty wich in turn will make them misplay, wich can be exploited and can win you a game. Even in League this shit works (in lower ranks ofc), just make your opponemt angry amd frustrated youll see how easely they fall apart and can even leave making you fight a 5v4 and in turn win a game. Sometimes playing the player can be just as beneficial as understanding the game mechanics combos and.moves to an incredible lvl.

Totally fine if you don't play Brawlhalla (I hardly have time to play it myself so I mainly watch when I'm not streaming it). Playing the player is just as beneficial and we see this in tournament play quite a bit especially with fighting games where it is very one on one. Bad news for league unfortunately on using all the time given. They may make it so only 4 votes are needed to forfeit at 15 mins.
