The Braves Are Trying to Build a Dynasty (And It Might Work)

Спорт

Hey everyone!
Not every World Series winning team can transition into becoming a dynasty. Only a select few can do it and I think the Atlanta Braves can do it. With their mixture of contracts, player development, and savviness they are one of the very few current teams with dynasty potential. However, at the same time, so many unforeseen things can go wrong.

    As a Braves fan, going through the dark ages of the mid 2010s was worth it. This allowed the front office to have a better chance of acquiring high end talent and build a team that can win in the future and they did just that! I am so blessed that the Braves franchise built a proven commodity that carries a winning team, culture and spirit. I look forward to the future optimistically as I see the Home of the Braves gunning for more rings.

    @@joshwhitley8969 I think it's easier if your team is complete trash though rather than "Let me dangle this carrot in front of your face for a quarter of a century only to snap it back when you get close to winning it all" It's much harder to stick with a team like the Braves after all those early post season exits. I'd argue being a Reds or Pirates fan is a walk in the park. You know exactly what to expect. Neverending futility. Anything else is gravy.

    I agree with everything said here, except one part: the Braves’ minor league system. I don’t think it’s depleted. People said it was depleted going into this year, and now we have 3 rookies making an impact at the major league level. I think these minor league system ratings get way too caught up in how many hyped prospects they have, without taking into consideration the track record of player development. We still have players we could call up right now if we needed to. They’re just not known to many people outside of hardcore Braves fans.

    The rebuild was really only 2015-2017. They won 96 games in 2013 and, while they only won 79 games in 2014, they brought back a team that was very similar to the 2013 team (Hudson and McCann were notable subtractions) and they were in contention before a September collapse. They started trading everyone after the 2014 season...Heyward, both Upton brothers, Kimbrel, Gattis, etc. Simmons was traded after the 2015 season.

A good chunk of the players on the team seem actively invested in the city beyond their job description of playing for the team, and the core has impeccable chemistry, they're all best friends or close to it. Add onto this the fact that especially after last year this org has a winning reputation...why would you ever want to leave?

    Something to add that’s important for the Braves moving forward that wasn’t mentioned in the video or in the comments I have read it the problem with money they could run into with the ownership group. Liberty Media is notably stingy but going forward they have promised some more financial support for the team, but this is only after the success of a World Series. As a Braves fan, I’m concerned the budget may not grow if the team were to take a step back in the playoffs in the coming years. Either way, the team does have a phenomenal young core that has me excited for the future. The only concern I have is the ownership group’s willingness to provide cash to make some large free agent splashes to supplement the core.

    Dynasty ...right..just loaded bases 1 out and Travis swings at 2 balls way out of zone out 2 ...Rosario up loaded bases one swing at dirt pitch and watches one go by 3 outs..this is your dynasty...Braves avg 15 runners LOB per game and the starting pitchers barely make it to 5 th inning where all hell breaks loose 6 th inning to ninth inning the pen blows games to often...snitker leaves pitchers in way to long worried about the pitchers feelings more than a win for the TEAM.

    I might be a Yankee fan, but I know when I see a potentially decade-dominating team. The Atlanta Braves look like they are that team. I still think the Dodgers, Astros & Mets win Championships this decade as well. They're all good teams. But the Braves have a very good young core and great player development that I haven't seen in a long, long time.

    This Braves team is absolutely insane you would think it couldn't get better after a title in 2021 and after they lost Freeman you would think that's the peak of the Braves but it probably won't be with their absolutely crazy young core

  • @tp3480
    @tp3480 Жыл бұрын

    It is interesting the extensions to the young players have all been for position players to this point. Maybe it is lower risk? Maybe it is just a timing thing. But they seem to be willing to pay for the hot hard, the veteran bullpen arms, and develop pitching constantly while seeking to create a stable and dependable starting 9 for the long term. This team should be good a long time. It's a well run organization, and they are literally printing money at Truist Park while putting a high quality product on the field. Oh, and do not discount the premium the organization puts on homegrown talent. They have a lot of guys from the Southeast who want to play in Atl, and their family and friends flock to the park to see them play. It is a solid organization up and down.

    This is one of the smartest front offices in the league, they are looking to be the east coast version of the LA Dodgers. 1. Recruit top notch talent who also grew up near Atlanta, were Atlanta fans as kids, have interest in being a brave. 2. Cultivate talent within their farm system. 3. Sign them to long term contracts. This is very the similar to the LA Dodgers approach.

    I think people underestimate the value of consistency in a man's life. The freedom of knowing where you're gonna live and that your teammates that you love will also be there and that you can all continue to help each other and keep each other accountable is worth a lot of money. When you've already got millions? It's priceless. So these Braves have freedom to just focus on having fun playing baseball and taking care of themselves as humans. The Braves are building a community, not just a baseball team, and potentially it's a new recipe for an all-time dynasty. Time will tell! 1 game out of first right now!
