I was there in 66/67, and most of these young soldiers like myself were drafted, never complained and fought like hell when they had to.As a combat infantry medicI\, I will never forget their blood, sweat and sacrifice. God Bless each and everyone that served.

Me as well...corpsman. USAF. C130 3 Marines in my arms closed their brave young eyes. Two ROK White Panther Marines as well...on their way home to Korea. Changed everything in my young life. Our Lord became very close, amigos. These dying fellow boys looked me straight in the eyes: it all makes sence...don't fear...it's good.

Nixons visit to Communist Red China , put an end to the Vietnam War by Jan. 1973! It wasn't easy getting out of that quagmire , SouthVietnam, but Nixon did get the USA out of there where we shouldn't of been there in the 1st place. 58 sum thousand troops, which my uncle included in that, lost their lives. But , all was not for nothing. Soviet Union defunct , Communist Cuba defunct , West , and East Germany united with the Berlin wall demolished , Eastern Block nations cease to exist , and are into a free market system , China , Vietnam Communist by name only , looking for tourist money , and into capitalist free market trade , because they know that MONEY TALKS AND BULLSHIT WALKS.

They were so young, my pop's was drafted right after high school, the army gave him some basic training and it was off to Vietnam. He did two tours but hardly talked about it, he passed away last year of cancer, we love you dad, God bless you and all our servicemen and women🕊

I was in country June 67 to June 68, 2nd Corps, Qui-Nhon, I hear you Loud and clear, be well and stay safe.

I don't know you personally, but I know you. You are my Brother in Christ, and......my Brother in Arms. I was in 2/1 1 MarDiv. up north 68' & 69. There are multiple hundreds Charlies Co.' with stories from all over Nam and I met so many "back to back" solid men!I am totally aware I was not alone, nor ever will be. My God brought most of me back. The rest took years to come home. But he saw to that as well. My loving Father God healed my memories that could no longer enjoy Christmas until 2012, when Jesus came and shared His birthday with me. He never failed me nor forsook me. I have been preaching His Good News since 1974. There were so many near misses, that can only be said, It was God's great grace and it wasn't my time to go, for He had great plans for me. It's not over until my Lord Jesus comes for me, here, there or in the air. God bless all of you my Nam Vet Bros! You are all hero's! Semper Fi! Do or Die!

Look at the faces, they all tell such a story. Those eyes, searching, longing, lonely for home and family, & scared, love all you guys. Such brave Men. To the ones who didn't make it home. And to Tom, whose suffering from cancer because of Agent Orange , May you rest safely in the loving arms of God .May they all rest in peace For God you are so Faithful ! And to all the ones who did make it home like Tom the maimed, physically and mentally, may we. Find peace in the reassurance that we have a God who cares. about us all.! God had a purpose, although we dont understand it, He does ! We replaced the 25th in Iraq. They had been there for 15 or 18 months already and were true professionals. They wanted to get home but made a huge effort to make sure we were ready to replace them. From that day forward I'll buy a beer for any guy that served in the 25th. Tell your uncle I owe him a beer and welcome home.

My papa was also a "river rat" he served 3 tours in Nam. From 65 - 78 after that he had shore duty here in the states and rose the ranks to Chief Petty Officer and then retired with 23 years service in 84.

Served in Cu Chi 1966-67. A battery 13th. Artillery 25th. Infantry. Made ammo runs almost every day. Have cancer and PE from agent orange but feel very fortunate- at 74 I’m still kicking and I made it home. To all those who did- welcome home. For those who didn’t - let us never forget.

To these great American's who served and died in Vietnam! No amount of money could buy their loyalty and sacrifice for our nation! With little support from the home front they fought on under impossible odds! God and His Christ will never forget your love for America! Brilliant, thank you for taking the time to make and upload this video "Lest we forget"

My inspiration for using the song "Never Once" came during Church services at "Real Life Church" in the City of Santa Clarita (north of Los Angeles) earlier this year when it was performed by their band. This was the first time I attended Church in a very long time and when this song was performed, all I could think about was my ole Charley Company buddies... especilly those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam fighting for freedom. Agent Orange has taken many since Vietnam.

I found you 4/47 guys thru your website last year, then hooked up with Bill Reynolds a time or two via the website link.. then, by serendipity or luck or magic, saw the documentary on NatGeo TV last week ( Sept, '14 )and was just blown away. Immediately associated Bill with the greyhaired character on the tube.. :-) and cannot break away from this powerful film. What fine young Americans one and all you are! Always wondered what it was like down in the big muddy before I arrived Dec. '68 with the 4/39... still looked like the confluence of heaven and hell... you guys are awesome... GOD BLESS! I just lost my oldest Nam Brother, Sgt Jerry Frazier out in Iowa. We flew into Dong Tam, home of 9th Infantry, on the same Caribou C7 just in time for Christmas, 1968. Served in 4th Bn, 39th Rgt, he in B Co. and I in C.. INFANTRY! RIP OLD FRIEND & BROTHER

I read this book. An avid reader of war books, I took a month to read it because I cried so much. When the documentary came out and had home videos these guys had taken, I burst into tears knowing those guys were going to die. This book is as real as it gets. Written by a history professor, it includes many stories told by the guys themselves and was guided by a vet the professor met when he took his class to a PTSD group meeting. The vet had a flashback and completely freaked out upon watching the documentary that was being shown. He "came to" in a hospital ER, but he soldiered on, contributing so much to this amazing book of brotherhood.

Thanks for the upload of the song and history. I just ordered a copy of the boys of 67. Touches my heart deep. God bless vietnam vets.. all gave some, and some gave all.

I read the book The Boys of '67. I came across it at the library. Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. It's well written and the author did such a great, great job of making the reader feeling like you got to know each of soldiers of Charlie Co. When one would be killed in battle it really affects you, or it did me. This book really was a great read.

I was given this book to read by one of your brothers, Jayce Johnston. He lives in Scottsdale, Az where we spend a few months. I was in Dong Tam in February 1968 to February 69. I was fortunate to spend most of that time in the 1097th Medium Boat Co attached to the 9th Inf Div. I know from the book and speaking with Jayce what you all went through. I’m a very proud Vietnam vet and I’m even more proud of what you guys did in that crap hole place. Hold your head high, you’ve earned it! God bless you all.

Very well done Bill. I was there in '68-'69 with the 9th Avn, "Jayhawks" as a gunner on Huey. I still feel the pain of flying so many of you out n leaving u out in the field. We would return to resupply or bring out mail, ammo, food n the ever present wounded. This brings back so many memories n it helps knowing that so many made it back.

My Dad was with 1/11th Arty at Bearcat in '67. He was a medic wounded and flown back to the states during fighting at the base of the Black Virgin Mountain.

Dear Mike Boone, actually the soldier shown at the 5 Min - 28 Sec mark is my fellow 2nd Platoon medic Bill Geier... he was killed right next to me as he administered aid to Bob French and Ronnie Bryan. Bill Geier received the Silver Star posthumously for his heroics that fateful day - June 19, 1967.

it’s the same troops as in the photos from reading the Book the Boys o.f 67’s they were hit in a company scale ambush’s, the VC hit them from inside bunker complex’s, Company C were advancing though Rice Paddy’s, there Med Vac Huey got blow out of the Air by a RPG. The Books available to buy as is the audible book, it’s called The Boys of 67 It covers I think every bit of contact the Company were engaged in including all deaths & wounded the other men saw or the wounded could still talk about during 1 tour. Company C saw some heavy fighting in its Tour, lost a lot of men killed & wounded.

A btry 1st.of the 27th artillery.155 howitzers s.p..feb.68 to feb.69.dau tieng,fired many fire missions for infantry,mainly the 25th.we were authorized to wear the red braid,artillery units very seldom get mentioned.there also was a175 unit in dau tieng.we would get mortared an r.p.g,ed. All the time. It was called rocket city.

I was in VN '66-67 but I was up in II CORPS Pleiku, AnKhe, I went to HS with Cameron Rice who was in this outfit. He was killed and they never recovered his body. This parents refused to accept he was dead. I remember him as a little kid who I really liked. Soft spoken and quiet. I understand that he took a rocket in the chest and was just gone. Ir's in the book, those kids never stood a chance. What a fuck up, boats got out ahead came around a bend and 200 VC were 35 yards away and killed everyone instantly.

Does anyone remember Forrest Hoeme 3/39 9th infantry. He was killed in a undisclosed mission west of Rac Kien on 3/1167?
