    That's what I love best about Bourne: everything is so calm and calculated. Every move is deliberate and he knows how much time he has to get out of there. He's not in a mad panic stuffing files into the bag and running out. Even like in the first one when he escapes from the embassy, he calmly walks up to the rooftop level as there are soldiers with assault rifles hunting him down.

    These were the type of scenes that made the first 3 Bourne Movies so great. It wasn't just that Bourne could beat people up, it was that he was smarter and sneakier than the people chasing him. The truly scary part of having Bourne after you wasn't that he could punch his way through your minions, it was that he could get to you before you even knew he was coming. Everything after Ultimatum pretty much forgot that.

    Treadstone Assassins was definitely the best scene in my opinion. It made me want to go out and try to hunt Bourne even though I know he isn't even real - and if he was real - I'd undoubtedly get my asskicked (with a newspaper? or a book of crossword puzzles? or with a rubber ducky? or whatever he'd find to use on me). Anyway, this scene is definitely up there in the top 3 best scenes of the franchise though.

    Bond ain't got nothin' on Bourne. Bond can barely accomplish his mission with seconds to spare while the entirety of MI6 and all their gadget wizardry is behind him. Bourne's on the run from EVERYONE, improvises almost everything, and STILL accomplishes his mission without breaking stride.

  • @benitofranco372

    @benitofranco372

    7 жыл бұрын

    RtDK That may be true, but a lot of the things that happen to Bourne and a lot of the things he accomplishes are just because the plot demands it. A lot of the action scenes he shouldn't survive but he does. Here he could've (and should've) gotten caught but didn't because Noah Vosen chose to tell everyone to abort instead of calling the guy to check his office first. If he had done so he would've at least seen Bourne and locked down the building. The chase scene in this movie with the asset and Bourne in a police cruiser is also bullshit because there are several times during it where Bourne should've been gravely injured if not killed. Same thing with the other chase with the taxi. Not to mention in Tangier when he's followig Desh in a motorbike. For a highly trained amnesiac assassin he was ONE car lenght behind Desh so no wonder Desh saw him through his mirror. Not to mention objects in mirrors are closer than they appear. Also at the beginning of Supremacy the assassin that killed Marie said he got a headshot so he knows for a fact Bourne is dead. If so, then how did he not recognize the head of the person he was aiming for was the head of a WOMAN? Bourne should've also drowned in that scene. I do agree however. Bourne is better than Bond because as you said Bond has the whole MI6 (sometimes) with him and even then he can barely achieve his goal while Bourne here is a wanted man with not nearly as many resources.

    @@benitofranco372 Most of what you've said is why he is infact superior to Bond if we're following with the OP's claim especially with his Tenacity. In the first film he used a corpse as a cushion and in truth it wouldn't do much yet still, with a bleeding head and close fractured ribs he walks out of the room going to his next target. Bourne is a man of focus, even with his amnesia, his instinct lets him survive all this and in someway may be classified as superhuman. This may be his biggest plot armor, being super powered and to boot some sort of high IQ. With regards to Vosen avoiding building lockdown is because of Pam. Ever since the 2nd film, bourne is gaining media popularity and sympathy from the people that Pam, being one of them, wants to provide him safe confinement and even witness protection. Vosen wants to avoid that and sends out his most loyal people to him or atleast went with the same people like bourne who simply carry out orders no question asked. He also doubts anyone in the building can match Bourne's combat prowess. If enough chaos will happen inside, he won't be able to get Bourne.

    Yeah...sometimes the writers come up with some really great interactions...and this is probably the best from the entire series. I also love when Jason calls the office in Germany and tells them to bring the girl from Paris (Nicky)...and Nicky is standing right there shaking her head saying to herself "you guys just got me into this mess".

I asked where he was, and he did just what I wanted. He said he was at his base, and I will never forget this, I replied the same sort of way Bourne replied "If you were here we'd be shooting at each other."
