    I love these small builds, this is one of the most chill channels and the videos give a relaxed bob ross feel while creating lovely little art pieces. I don't care for the overproduced, loud in your face content. You have something wonderful here.

    Thank you! I'm trying to channel the old masters! I want to try oil washes but for now I need to keep the hobby on the cheaper side. I did get a couple of Vallejo washes and acrylic ink. The acrylic ink was from Michaels and totally worth the cost. One drop of ink mixed with water is enough for a small build. I have the Michaels app and use my 50% coupon to get sets of paint or a single model for kitbashing. They will harass you to death with emails though!

  • @ravenstead

    @ravenstead

    Жыл бұрын

    Thanks! I feel like I can get a better wood grain effect to scale with the fine brass brush on foam. Balsa, bass, and poplar are great materials too. They have way more strength than the foam. Western red cedar would be my wood of choice for actual wood builds. It's light and has a natural soft tan color, not red like eastern red cedar. When milled into scale planks with a bandsaw it even looks like it was sawn with a pitsaw type mill as opposed to a 19th century type circular sawmill. I appreciate the great question!

    The cheapest place to get XPS and EPS foam is dumpster diving, roadside trash, construction sites, etc. Be careful and don't get run over by a truck, contract tetanus, or trespass! Aside from that I usually get it from the big box stores like Home Depot or Lowes. I prefer XPS, it's more dense but you use what you can find right? If you are from outside the USA I don't have a clue, sorry.
