I'm so so glad i clicked on this video. I want to support more female youtubers, since the algorithm seems to be biased againat them, but most of them wear makeup😭 I'm 100% against the beauty industry (non makeup, non shaving kind of gal) so I love seeing someone here like me. Thank you and good luck with the channel ❤

Love the vibe and angry feminist booktubers that read weird books are very much my thing, not that I'd call my self an expert on feminism at this point. Also hooray for dinosaur encyclopedias!

thanks for sharing! there’s a lot here that resonates with me. I discovered your channel earlier this year not long after trying to teach myself how to read again; I have late disseminated Lyme disease and my brain is pretty much crawling through molasses. it was encouraging to find your videos because it isn’t very often that I come across people online (let alone irl) whose values align with mine, and I’ve also been enjoying the interesting recommendations! (though admittedly I’m not capable of reading 90% of them at the moment- definitely not reading anything of the sublime right now either, lol. someday!) … now that I’ve probably shared entirely too much information about myself, I’d be really interested to know what languages you’ve learned and what methods you used to learn them (etc.) if you ever feel like talking about it or making a video on the subject :^)

The zoo books are so real. Probably my favorite author (walter moers) writes fantasy books that are set on a continent without humans and he illustrates his books and draws pictures of all the fun fantasy creatures. The way i love some of these books is unreal and i love how they are real novels but also picture books

aw yay so glad to finally hear from you!! i can add it to the list but i'll have to work up to it because it'll require a ton of thought. also i have trouble conceptualizing what a list like that would look like because there are tons of books i Saw God In when i read them but that I don't feel the same about anymore since I've grown and changed...and what am i gonna do, just make a list of Donna Tartt novels? and then i'd probably break down sobbing trying to express why I love them so much and it'd be embarassing. every day i fear she'll never write something else. she's the greatest writer of our lifetimes and i don't know what to do with myself over it because she'll never know i existed. tldr we'll see. i'll need to take a long time to think about how i'd do a vid like that...I will say that I only review something positively for this channel if I feel that it's truly exceptional. if i'm mentioning it positively in a video there's a good chance it's very, very good. ty for the suggestion :^)))))

@@fictionesque1992I read the secret history last year, it was truly life changing! I’m actually planning on finishing the book I’m reading right now, and then I’m probably gonna start reading the little friend, I’m super excited! As for the suggestion, honestly don’t worry about it haha, I know it would be quite the undertaking, as I would struggle to narrow down the books that I really truly love as well! Regardless, I look forward to whatever you put out next ❤

pardon me for butting in lol, but I read it recently and thought it was great even if the ending was a bit sloppy. it has major The Magician’s Nephew vibes and since you mentioned reading The Chronicles of Narnia growing up you might enjoy that

@@fictionesque1992 oof I'm awful at convincing people lol let me try. Do you want to read something with an unique setting you'll never find again? Does the concept of an infinite House filled with statues, with occasional birds and tides, but some darker secrets, intrigue you? What if I tell you the House is akin to a caring god who watches after you? Then Piranesi is for you :D oh, the intrigue! Does the House ever end? Is someone else here? How did I get in? Can someone get out? I... I did my best

I really love almost all of this - but I was a little saddened by the anti make up stance. As a very unapologetic feminist I am pro choice in everything, including expression through clothes and makeup, for all gender identities. Excited to see what you come out with though, I similarly have to read any problematic book that people hate 😂

"choice feminism" is just individualism, not feminism. it sounds like you're a radical individualist, not a feminist, which is totally okay!

While I agree on the premise of letting people make choices, it's good to be critical of why we are making those choices. Is 50% of the population shaving because they really want to, or because they have been conditioned to think they are undesirable or unhygienic if they don't? Is 50% of the population predisposed to liking makeup, or have they grown up seeing women being called ugly if they don't? Do they do it because they find it artistic, or because they have to perform and be perfect and they are scared of being seen bare faced?
