Fair comments and an open-minded review. I got my Guild Marley in March and absolutely love it. I'm no professional, just wanted a nice-sounding, easy-playing guitar to pick at home which didn't break the bank. And this is it. Such a smooth instrument and sweet to the ear, too. Sure, I guess I could find a superior studio-quality instrument but not at this price.

Good to see the quality on the Marley A-20 is up. I purchased a Guild 8 string Baritone last year and have had to sent it back for replacement, twice. They still have the second one, waiting to see what to do with it. American built Guild Guitars are great but the imports have been very tough and go to me. If you buy one online, be sure to have a good return policy , f needed.

First and foremost, thank you guys. You make my day no matter how the hell the rest of it was. I like the sound of that Guild and I'm not a Guild fan. I think to me it has a deep rich tone some of the brilliance isn't there but, it's not a Martin, nor was it intended to compete with. I agree, the price is absolutely right and it sounds great. Keep on smiling.

It sounds better than some of the Martin special x models. Go play one at GC then play a Martin. I had trouble deciding which to get. It has solid back and sides. There's a lot of confusion about that but it does. Mine is open pore on the back and sides. It's mid range is great for the price. Much better than some other guitars at the same price.

The sustain sounds very good.

I'm coming around to guild....might have to aquire one.....not the A-20 though, I dont need another begginer guitar.

What’s the action like? What strings are on this? Material of the saddle, nut etc. tuners? Pickup?

These come with a bone nut & compensated bone saddle, the tuners are Guild's Vintage 16 Open Gear, and it does not have a pickup. This guitar also should have EJ16's or the coated equivalent of lights on it. Never got a bad Guild from you or others. Grandson likes the Guild 240 DS Memoir burst. Also didn't think you guys were sufficiently old to know Bob Marley.
