This scene should've been in the final series. Watching bands study their mistakes show more of the technicalities, concentration, and focus that goes into a marching show. Seeing how precise one has to be would've been a good point to show the audience.

what happened to season 2
You take something shitty like reality tv and mix it with something great like DCI you get something just shitty and almost no good
That first color gaurd member has the entire idea of drum corps and marching band wrong, it's not about winning or coming out on top, it's about defeating yourself and being better every time not your final placement.

It's drum corps. You are at the level where you should be thinking about winning.
How strict is drum Corp? Because I’ve heard of some high schools who need to do 10 push-ups per mistake they make, so if it’s worse than that, and it’s like 100 push-ups per mistake, that sounds scary.

EPICLUMA 97 RH I dont think it would be much worse than what you are describing, primarily because the drill in drum corps is so demanding physically and mentally. But I'm still in high school so I really wouldnt know that much.

It varies between different corps but it's generally way harsher and higher standards than high school. My corps' horn line doesn't really require push-ups after mistakes though. They'd rather us be attentively listening to feedback and studying our coordinates. People still do it voluntarily later during down time out of respect for the section though. What's the most different is the standard of what's considered a mistake. In high school it's missing instructions, messing up count structure or missing a horn move. In drum corps, it's small details like being slightly out of a cover down, inconsistent step size on a specific set, being slightly late on a horn move, poor upper body control on a direction change, etc.

When I marched, during brass blocks, we'd run laps for mistakes like someone coming in early or cutting off late. Depends on the corps, but it's all well worth it 😁

Oof im doing drum corps this year. High-school marching band is pie I can do it in my sleep. Its a lot of conditioning and hours spent doing drill. While having no free time but to just sleep.
