Not his decision, or he will join the many who the funny idea that they don't need to dance to the fiddle of D.C. when told to do so. Where did the monies go? Most didn't end up in Ukraine, we didn't send money. We sent military equipment that had already been payed for; by tax payer of course. The monies ended up in the pocket of the Industrial Military Complex to manufacture weapons, either to replenish expendables, like ammunition, or build the next generations weaponry based on what we have learned. Elections are on the horizon. Unless there is a political gain to end this war right now, the executive has no interest to end it. Who remembers the delay of ending the Vietnam war for just such reason? Across the board, politicians need monies for the re-election campaign, and who provides this? The corporations with the biggest lobby. Hasn't the Industrial Military Complex been the top dog in this department? => This isn't my opinion, and at first didn't even make this connection. People like Scott Ritter have talked about this for a while now. Worst of it all is this: Several American politicians in D.C. have said, differ only in words used: Ukraine has been the best investment made, and best is that not a single drop of American blood was shed. Aways follow the monies. The longer this war goes on the more monies are to be made.

⁠Having visited Kharkiv three times from Australia as a classical musician and still in regular contact with friends there, believe me most people there are dying for Russia to remove what has wrecked the city the last 8 years, with all infrastructure neglected and falling apart, half of the state institutions completely disfunctional (one friend waited 4 years just to update their passport), schools defunded to the point of not being able to exist (my friend had to give piano lessons without a piano at the school, whilst at home her house was close to collapsing), and massive fear campaigns preventing anyone from reporting what is happening. They are not looking forward to the transition as NATO is removed, but they want it to happen terribly, and start being rebuilt as Donetsk is being.

@@karimblix4378Technically yes that is correct because their is different between capturing a place that can influence a strategic-level victory and one that can influence a tactical-level victory. The 2022 Kherson Counteroffensive was the last strategic victory in this War until now. Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Chasiv Yar just like Robotyne will be merely tactical victories. Sure, territory changes hands but the strategic situation does not change, there is no breakthrough that will come that will majorly influence the war beyond the strategic level stalemate it’s been in for 2 years. The person who commented about Kyiv, Kharkiv and Odessa are delusional. Neither side has enough manpower or equipment to break through fields with rather poor defences, neither side can even take a village without flattening it first. There is no chance that Russia takes Kharkiv with its current force, just like there’s no chance of Ukraine taking Tokmak or Donetsk back. The War is strategically a stalemate and it’s likely to remain that way. Again, Russia has made tactical gains but no strategic ones, fields and a couple of villages means nothing in the grander picture and the war is completely unsustainable for both sides in terms of losses for the tactical level gains they are barely scraping out.

It is very simple. There is no Surovikin Line in Kharkov. Funds have been stolen and there is less manpower available. A stronghold is useless if you can not mann it. And Ukraine basically has no air force left.

However for a large county compared to the west it's smaller. For a country at threat from a lot of enemies it's not enough. Any country would suffer from being in a wartime state. Russia living being is good but not like in the West. The defense gdp for Russia is a strain and Russia also has to work on its economic development and livelihood of Russians who have waited a long time for that and other improvements and changes in the country. It`s easy: some parts of the info are from geolocated footage, some are from official reports and some are form unofficial on-the-ground reports... The geolocated part of info is added to the RED russian territory (it's confirmed info), the other ones usually are unpermanently marked in grey (not yet confirmed).

Do some study on the two major changes in the Russian ministry. Shoigu was promoted to a higher position where he will be able to utilize his engineering skills to advance the Military Industry. His replacement is an Economist and was Deputy Prime Minister, not some nobody out of left field. Being an economist and no military service does not mean he is there because of any Western rumored corruption issues. Yes, there was a minister who was removed for that reason, but one and only one. The new MOD is there to streamline the operations and supply in co ordination with the output that Secretary Shoigu will bring into the production line. It is a strategic move on the part of the President if observed in the entire oversight and not in a narrow blinkered view such as the West has.
