Please do a break through of All king Jesus the live version by Bethany wohlre. Thanks in advance.
That's great brother, what chain do you use in the box to get that tone?
@thedavidfunk_

Great question! Could probably do a little vid on that too … But it’s SSL Channel for some EQ; LA-2A for 3-5db of compression, some RBass, and then I think some Pro-Q for clean up and Decapitator for a little extra edge.
❤🔥🚒🧑🚒
du bist ne coole Socke David!
sounds sick man! are you running the gain toggles on the kilt both up or down? couldn't tell in the video but the kilt sounded HUGE

@@thedavidfunk_ dude! That’s KILLER. Using it for an event tomorrow and gonna give both toggles up a go. Sounds like a tamed version of the micro synth 😂
Hey David, any reason why you have the Neve DI on the board instead of just using the Tonehammer's DI? thanks
@thedavidfunk_
4 күн бұрын
It's something some of the guys here at Bethel have been trying some more -- I used the Tone Hammer DI out for years and it's totally great! Something about the Neve feels like one more layer of "glue" that just kinda holds everything together in a really nice way. Feels like it smooths out the top end just a little -- could totally be just subjective though! It's definitely not a requirement to have for great tone!
Are these the stock pickups in this bass? I know you guys all use the neck pickup exclusively. I started doing that recently myself because of you guys and I’m using Adam’s Tone Factor HX stomp preset.

When you doing a tutorial for Praise The Lord - Peter Mattis's new track?

that’s the plan!
considering the geddy lee has a 70s style pickup spacing, do you think it affects the sound of the neck pickup? comparing to a standard jazz bass with a standard pickup spacing
@thedavidfunk_
4 күн бұрын
I don't know - that's a great question! To be honest I don't think I've ever noticed the different spacing!
Do you leave both pickups open full time?
@thedavidfunk_
14 күн бұрын
just the neck pickup !
Do you feel any difference between the old vs new microsynth?
@thedavidfunk_
14 күн бұрын
Yeah - it’s subtle but i feel like it sounds a little less digital and a little more aggressive in the midrange! I feel like the low end on the new one is a touch more consistent as well
Surprised to see J bass instead of P or even PJ. Assuming you're rocking the typical "Bethel pedalboard"? It would be cool to see a rig rundown at some point.

👀 ooh ….
Will bass players get excommunicated from bethel if they don't use a tone hammer and microsynth? 😅 I haven't seen anyone use anything different, sounds great though!
@thedavidfunk_
13 күн бұрын
hahaa! not excommunicated - but yes that’s what we use here! Not everyone has a microsynth, but everyone has a tone hammer. That’s just the sound we go for for now. It’s addictive!
is the geddy lee jazz bass the japanese or mexican model?

Looks like a 70s jazz bass, do you know for sure? I just did a cover of this song and my tone compared to this is 🫣
Why do you choose a J Bass over a P Bass or PJ? Just curious.
@thedavidfunk_
13 күн бұрын
Honestly I’ve been wanting to get a P Bass; but for what we do, the J Bass just sits in a mix so so well! I personally love how warm / round I can get it, without sacrificing aggression. But there’s nothing like that P Bass sound for sure!

@@thedavidfunk_nice! I appreciate the answer! After doing a lot of research, I decided to invest in a J-style bass! It's a 00's style Jaguar with J pickups! In love with it and sat well in the mix like you explained! I had an Ibanez that sounded great for other types of music, but could not get on-board in the worship setting. I appreciate your help!!
I hope you don't wait another 9 months to drop your next video 🥲
