Fun Fact: The Boulder is a parody of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and they tried to get The Rock to do the voice, but there was some sort of scheduling conflict, so they got Rock's friend, Mick Foley, another wrestling legend, to do his impression of The Rock, and it turned out amazing! One might even say it was a Rock-solid performance by Mr. Foley..... I'll see myself out now..... 😅

Aang, as a nomad raised without traditional parents, is just like, " you're not happy here, move on," without really understanding what that would mean to Toph's relationship with her mom and dad.

The Boulder was voiced by WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley, that's why he is so authentic.

Yes, I've been waiting for this! You guys accidentally picked a great spot to pause the show. After Toph is introduced, the show just keeps getting better.

I hope you guys continue soon-ish. I've always felt that after The Blind Bandit episode Book 2 really kicks off into high gear.

The Boulder is 100% supposed to be based off of The Rock XD Oh and the "Fire Nation" guy was not actually "Fire Nation". He was playing a character for the ring, much like WWE has it's "bad guys", so did this.

I'm partial to "Sherlokka", myself. The Boulder is voiced by legendary wrestler Mick Foley, aka Mankind and Cactus Jack.

Yeah, until they watch The Expanse, or Stranger Things comes back, I'm mainly here for Avatar.

Toph is where the show levels up from great to greater! Toph is 12 in the show like Aang and very short. Absolute favorite character of mine!

If you take into consideration that Toph's family is ultra rich high society crowd, it's easier to think of reasons why they are so "protective" and not just of their daughter...

Toph's father is likely more worried about reputation than anything else. First he hides his daughter from people because she's blind, a disabled child might harm their reputation. And then when he sees and understands what she does in her secret life he's even more worried about what she could do to the family reputation in an underground fighting ring.

This is one of my favorite episodes. They spend the whole time on trial like “Avatar Kyoshi would never do that” then she comes out like “oh yeah I did that ish” WHAT?!??😂😂😂😂

Toph is my 2nd fave character. Love her so much; she's a badass. Another fun react & looking forward to more episodes of this. So many good ones coming.

It's a nice detail that the villagers dehumanize Aang so much, that one of them literally says " *It's* going to kill us with *it's* awesome Avatar powers!"

Tbh I understand the parents. They just scared of their (12 y old blind) daughter. They care about her unlike other rich families who let the Nanny do the parenting and are not there for her. And to be fair Toph hid this from her parents for awhile because of asuming how they would react. Oc they were shocked after they found out what Toph is doing. Maybe things would be different if she would have been truthful from the start. But she is a child so I dont blame her for that. Over protective? Yes. Was the father over reacting after they found out the truth? Maybe but thats their little child, who are we to judge? Nothing against Toph I love her and I know she is capable but I do understand the parents.

I'm not really into Wrestling and born in the 90s, but I'm always surprised how many reactors don't pick up on the fact that Fire Nation man is a classic parody on Cold War Era Heels that would pretend to be Russian (or some other kind of foreigner).

@@oq1106 Yeah, most of those guys, along with most the so-called "Middle-Eastern" wrestlers were born and bred in the U.S. or Canada, a few of them had been in North America for many generations. The actual number of "Russian"/"Soviet" and "Middle-Eastern" wrestlers was really tiny, compared to how many just pretended to be from "some country we don't like at the moment". 😄 Nowadays, there a quite a few more wrestlers who are actually Russian or Middle-Eastern, or have bloodlines to those areas, and they're only portrayed as "heels" (bad guys) sometimes, if that's what is needed for story-line purposes.

If you guys haven't seen Lisa Frankenstein yet, I promise you, you will love it ! I thought of you guys as soon as I finished it lol. Don't know if you know but it's film writer,Zelda Williams, first big film ( I think it is her first film period, might have to fact check that)! She is the daughter of beloved Robin Williams! The movie is absolutely stunning and It's already criminally underrated in my opinion!

4:45 I think that's why they had that one guy openly accept the water tribe money. Aang would assume since the one guy was good with it everyone would be. Also could just be that they didn't want to let him post bail and looked for any excuse not to accept payment.

Also Fire Nation Man isn't actually a fire bender. In WWE they will have "villians" be part of it for the audience to cheer against and get easily beaten, and that's who Fire Nation Man is in this. Also he's heavily based off of one in particular who would sing the Soviet Union National anthem before matches, hence the Russian accent.

Finally! Now things get even better and just keep picking up. Not that the first season is bad - it’s just crazy how great things get as we go

It's not that shocking Aang suggests Toph running away. Air benders are nomads, it's normal in his culture to leave and travel around the world. 😅

People were making TONS of blind jokes when toph got added to fortnite

They didn't kidnap Toph - they just assisted her in running away. 🐒Now, I believe that Toph is 12, like Aang, and it seems that by 16 you are viewed as an adult [which kind of fits the "time period" this seems to fit into - 1800s] so maybe at 12 - running away from home is not even seen as an issue for the law - it's just "family business"

Chin the Conqueror was NOT short. Kyoshi was 7 ft TALL. You can verify this in the episode itself as Kyoshi is seen TOWERING over the magistrate.

The best part about Toph, who is already the best character in the show, is that the writers never forget that she's supposed to blind.
