The Blaxland Backshops - How I made Blaxland #1 "Alex" [PILOT]
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Welcome to the Blaxland Backshops, where I'll be discussing and going through the build process for custom model trains I create.
"Alex" is the Blaxland Ridge's #1. here's how I made him.
I have wanted to gear my channel towards my models forever now, but haven't had the motivation to make videos. I don't plan on making videos frequently, but when I do, here's what to expect.
Enjoy!

If the fictional railroad and model is a love letter to 1800’s railroading then this video is a love letter to custom work and model railroading. Unbelievable production value. This video raises the bar in so many ways. Loved loved loved the photos of him at the show. That was amazing. Also shoutout to the Richard voice cameo during the tender in bathroom cup scene. And also shoutout to that Arbour kit lmao.

Alex, this was an amazing video. It was relaxing, but it constantly kept me engaged. I can't wait to see the next installment in this series.
This video is excellent, I will probably be doing something similar to this in the future with my bachmann 4-4-0 as well. Though I will model it as a locomotive from the early 1860's.

This is late but I recommend using Super Clean to strip plastic. It is faster than alcohol if you are striping acrylic paint and other kinds (but you probably will still need to use alcohol for enamel paints), but Super Clean will not harm plastic at all! It comes in purple bottles including a gallon jug.

Texas has gone through some changes since then. Dispatch too. Both have received some decal and paint touch ups, and Dispatch has a whole new headlamp bracket that came from Precision Scale Models. Mind you, they are just two locomotives out of a fleet of 18. Right now, my priority is redoing a few parts on my General.

Nice to see some modernized Americans. If you come across another's one it could be interesting to modernize it into a 'fallen flag' turned logging locomotive with a stepbored pilot and heavily weathered, I did this on my LE American for awhile (now in the shop for a rebuild into an inspection locomotive) it was quite intriguing and boy it was easy to keep looking grubby burning wood lol!
Definitely one of the best custom model train build videos I've seen on KZread, watching this makes me want to get my current steam locomotive project done faster. what do you use for airbrushing?
So happy to see that you had fun in my home state. Wish I could have gone to ten Amherst train show but by the time I discovered it it was too late.
