Thank you so much! Also, I agree 100% that James owns the role and character of "Red", and to think he wasn't among the first casting choices initially. WOW! I can't envision anyone else. His work has been nothing short of master class.

We sometimes forget how much pain that poor man has had to endure. My heart truly bleeds for him. The terror in Red's eyes, in the scene with Josephine on the floor just tore my heart right out of my chest. James is such a Magnificent Actor, and you have a true talent for capturing the themes of your "mini-featurettes". A true Artist.

+TamCatG Likewise, my heart breaks for Red. Beneath the armor comprised of perfectly tailored suits and a cool mask is a man who feels quite deeply - deeper than he receives credit for - which makes his relationships/interactions with Dembe and Mr. Kaplan all the more compelling. I specify those two characters because they're the only people who know him as he truly is. As for James, there are no words to describe his work aside from the following: "master class". I couldn't be happier for him. And thank you so, so much! #hugs

Thank you for this comment. I think the same, I love him so much and he loves Lizzie so much (but in my opinion as father) he would die for her and he would do everything for her, to keep her safe and happy. There are those quotes, I dont remember where I saw it... The loneliest people are the kindest, the saddest peoole smile the brightest and the most damaged people are the wisest, all, because they do not wish to see anyone else suffer the way they do You can break my soul, take my life away, beat me, hurt me, kill me, but for the love of god,...dont touch her He was too quiet, or he was too loud. He was too sensitive, or too cold hearted. He hated with every fieber of his being, or loved with all his heart, it was either all, ...or nothing I just love those quotes, and I love Reddington. He is a broken man with a good heart. He deserves so much better, he deserves to be loved. Spoiler... yes Lizzie loves him as a father, and that was all I wanted from the start, but I want them as a happy family

It seems that Spader's acting has layers to it. In the pauses you can feel what reddington would be feeling and this is just mind-blowing as it adds so much depth to his character. Does that feel crazy?

  • @nikkixsensei

    @nikkixsensei

    8 жыл бұрын

+newgaleinhawk 33 No, that's not crazy at all. It's because of James's performance - his energy and enthusiasm - and understanding of the character that makes Red all the more compelling. You're absolute right about the involvement of multiple dimensions, and it's a pleasure to watch those chapters unfold.

That woman, Josephine. He deeply loves her, so does with Lizzie. And maybe, just maybe if Lizzington didnt make it to the end, please give that man a peaceful place, no war, no sorrow, just happiness around him with the woman he truly loves, a family, a home he's been looking for so long.. I just need my Reddybear to be loved. I can't stand to look him like this... too much pain in his soul.. Liz, don't you see? He loves you with all of his broken heart.. And thank you for making this beautiful heartbroken video, Monique. ♥

+Victoria Cadillac Thank you so, so much! Likewise, I agree that Lizzie needs to open her eyes and see Red for the man he is - a man who feels and loves quite deeply. The man has suffered so much, and my heart just breaks for him - an emotion that's magnified when she levels accusation and harsh remark after another to him. Take last night's broadcast, for example. You mean to tell me that the months you spent exclusively in his company didn't improve your opinion/perception of him? The remark in which she asked how a man of his position could question her judgment in terms of giving her child up for adoption was below the belt. Moreover, and this is with respect to that "dirty money" comment, he financed the operation leading to her exoneration/freedom, so in what capacity is his financial support now dirty? I would've preferred her simply saying "Thank you, but I would like to support my child based on my own income.". Then again, where is said income coming from now? She's no longer an agent, but WHO helped her secure a position as a consultant? Who galvanized the task force among other entities on her behalf? Red. It's a shame that she's certified in any field, especially psychology, as before her is a man of principle and far removed from the traitor that the government has painted him out to be. And seeing how devoted he is to her, one would then conclude the obvious which is this: He didn't abandon his wife and daughter. They were ripped away from him. I realize that this is quite a lengthy comment, but I'm just so frustrated with Lizzie. How we transitioned from her and Red being on the same page to her no longer wanting anything to do with him in addition to her reverting to an s1 pattern of behavior, I just do not understand.

+Monique Martin You're not too long with your explanations : I am agree with you 100%. Liz is thankless : she was happy when Red and his money help her to clear her name! If that did not suit her she would have to go in prison and assume Connoly's murder while her friends looked for proofs for the bomb attack...without Red's ressources (friends, money, jet...)!Thank you for this video : it makes me cry but my love for this character grow each episode. Kiss from France.

+Maxine Hochman Thank you so, so much! Likewise, my heart breaks for Red. The man has suffered so much, and I'd like nothing more than for him to come to a place where he can be happy and truly enjoy life and all that it has to offer. He experiences that through his relationships with Dembe (the most compelling dynamic on the show to me) and Mr. Kaplan as they represent the only people who truly know "Raymond", the man. Full credit to James first and foremost for breathing so much life and investing so much energy into the character. His work has been nothing short of "master class". Fortunately, he's not at all caught up in the commendations and other aspects of the industry and instead prioritizes the work itself. Even if he doesn't receive the recognition which he deserves more than anyone else, we can continue to celebrate for him. #blessed

Monique darlin', you've also invested so much time and energy, love and passion into your clips in the same way that James has invested so much of himself in order to breath life into Red. He has done it beautifully ... and so have you ☺ Actually, I'm pretty sure I've watched all the seasons but for the life of me there are parts in your video I don't remember seeing. For instance, I don't remember the lady in the wheelchair 😨 The last episode (last year) I watched saw Lizzie being caught in the woods by the FBI when she was trying to save Red from his red-neck captors. Dembe also gets caught. Red is the only one who somehow managed to escape. That's how the season here in Australia ended. Was that Season 2 or 3 Monique? Here in Australia the new series has yet to start. What's even worse is that I don't know when it's starting 😢 If you could shed some light on the season that would be soooo wonderful 😀 Looking forward to seeing more of your BRILLIANT work 💓🌹✌☺

+Gaia Di Lorenzo I wouldn't say he loved Katerina. Yes, he knew her, but I don't get the impression that his emotions for her ran that deeply. His love for Josephine, however, that was a thing of beauty to watch. Without question, Lizzie is the only woman in his heart now.

+Gaia Di Lorenzo I don't imagine Josephine interfering with Lizzington should Lizzie finally come to her senses, and I say that because ultimately her concern is whether or not Red is happy. That's how it should be.

I HOPE THAT REDDINGTON SEVERS ALL TIES TO ELIZABETH KEEN AT THE END OF THE FINAL SEASON AND LET HER FLOUNDER IN HER BETRAYAL. I AM AMBIVALENT ABOUT HIS HANDLING OF MR.. KAPLAN, THOUGH. DEMBE'S RETURN IN THE FINAL EPISODE OF SEASON 6 WAS A JOY TO WATCH

+Anne Murdy Likewise, I love Red. I'm not happy with the show's current direction, but I've yet to miss an episode. And no, Red IS NOT Lizzie's father. This has been addressed repeatedly. Jennifer is his daughter. I show her in this video and a discussion he has with his wife Carla about her whereabouts. Neither of them know where she is at present. Jennifer would be the girl Red envisions running through the yard in his former home (blowing bubbles) and the same girl waving to him as he watches old recordings on the projector he painstakingly restored.

+Monique Martin couldn't jen be a daughter he had with carla and lizzie be one he had with her mother? Cuz unless they are blood related. .maybe an uncle? then I don't understand his need to protect or be with lizzie. .but we will just have to keep watching I guess! I do hope he is her father..I think he isn't telling the truth when he says he's not..but who knows! :-)

+Tracy Peerboom Sorry, but no. Red IS NOT Lizzie's father. This issue has been addressed and answered on multiple occasions. Also established is that Red never outright lies to her. Yes, he conceals information but only because he doesn't want her to experience anymore trauma than she has already. Her being on the run with him during the first half of the current season, season 3, was especially painful for him as over the years he sought for her to not wind up like him - framed by the Cabal and forced into a different way of living - and failed to do so. Back to the original point. The season 2 finale further validated their not having a biological connection in revealing that, as a four year old child, Lizzie shot and killed her father. Her parents were in a physical altercation at the time (that is shown in the episode), another point that was expounded on in a recent broadcast. But don't take it from me. Here's a direct quote from Megan Boone to that effect: "It is confirmed that she killed her father and that Raymond Reddington is not her father. Even some of the fandom now wants to believe that she was mistaken, that she killed someone else, that it wasn’t her father, that her father is Red. I think we're going to continue to confirm that their relationship is something else and something more surprising than what you would think." Quotation source: www.etcanada.com/blogs/etc_140139/was-it-the-blacklist-or-maury-povich/tv Several producers from the show have also reaffirmed this. As for why, coming to feel for her as deeply is the one contingency he never prepared for, and the reverse applies. Lizzie cares for Red which is where the intrigue with respect to their relationship stems from. Neither is at the point of actualizing their emotions yet, which is smart as it's too soon for that development to come into fruition. Two people don't have to be related in order to enjoy something as deep or as compelling as what they share.

+Monique Martin As much as they hint it i think the writing over this season and next season is going to talk more about that night. I also think we will see katarina this season so it will be addressed more then. I could be wrong but if the end game for the writers is that he's an uncle i'm gunna be pissed lol.

Who is Red? Well no sex change surgery! Katrina a spy had lovers an unfaithful to her husband. The husband wasn’t Lizzie’s father she couldn’t help him with the rare blood disease. I think that 3 people were involved Katrina’s husband, the real Red, and the ? Spy. Red & Mr.? we’re special ops and somewhere along the line it was beneficial to exchange identities & among themselves made a switched but Red regretted along the way and wanted his identity back & that’s when the imposter killed him, that would be the Red we know. The imposter real daughter is Lizzie and protects her because Katrina was his real love. Jennifer is the real Red’s daughter. Though Lizzie DNA test according to the FBI came out positive is because the Red we know had sample of the real Red.’s blood. If this series end that Red is Katrina the series would end not as a good show but sour grapes. Then it’s because James Spader doesn’t want to renew his contract and for sure no season 7. ❤️

+Jude Choizy The woman shown on the floor and beaten was Josephine. What happened to her is an illustration or look into what motivates Red with respect to the measures he would take to keep either the same or a similar set of events from happening to Lizzie.
