I've been doing my dark goth makeup similarly to this, and it really is the best way. I personally do the taupe/ mauve shades for blending before the black, to really make things smoky when the black comes in. I'll have to try a black base though, I've been using cream liner as the base and it works great!

the panda thing was "the look" for us 80's girls back in the day! thanks for this vid, now I can finally do the black right. x
It’s such a small step but watching you rehydrate after using the makeup wipe was so important to me. I’d say your skin is the closest texture to my own and seeing that you also need to rehydrate after wiping I was like omg it’s not just me! A lot of youtubers either don’t need to or don’t show the reapplication. I learn so much from you because we have similar texture/face structure and preferences in makeup. Love your videos
My tip is if you don’t have a black base for your eyeshadow… use your mascara in a thin layer with a concealer brush… 👍
The difference that final bit of blending with the contour shade made is incredible. What a fantastic tip! I'm honestly obsessed with this eye look.
Being human is so lame sometimes. Hearing you talk about the darkness around your eyes negatively, meanwhile I literally put on eyeshadow to mimic it. You look so chic, so delicately alive, absolutely gorgeous without a touch of makeup on. I want to appreciate my natural puffiness and redness more, emphasize my aegyo sal or irritated flush. I'm plump and proud.

Oh My Goth! I' ve been using MAC Haux and Quarry to enhance my dark circles, blending it out with yellow down to the angular arteria and pure green following my dorso-nasal arteria (I' m exactly Anelochka' s skin shade). For the rest of my face, I go for the other side of the coin, deep greyish hollows to mimic the skull and highlighter wherever a bone is pointy (TMJ, gonial angle...) but playing with puffiness sounds cute. Maybe this will be my "Halloween Look" 😉 You need to see the last model of Painted by Spencer😮. 🧛🏻♀️🖤

Pro? Maybe not. Expert? Absolutely. Anyone who gets paid is a professional but it takes talent and practice to be a master.
I misuse Sephora's black matte liquid lipstick as an eyeshadow base, consider buying one just to use as base in case the dedicated eyeshadow base products don't work for you. It works the exact same way as described in this video. Take it from someone who has been to hundreds of goth/metal/scene/punk etc parties and festivals and did a lot of makeup. Obviously don't do it if you already used the lipstick on your lips, to avoid infections. Edit: and when you have next to no money, just get an Essence black kohl pencil, and use that as base or something, it's not as great, but still pretty awesome.
God this is gorgeous 🥵 I did a full black Smokey eye with deep red to blend out for my witch costume, and I was living!!! I felt so confident
"I don't consider myself a pro" got me shooketh
This is actual magic. The blending is CRAZY! 😍
I used this at the Halloween Stevie Nicks concert. Thanks for helping me not look too ridiculous!
IMO, you have the perfect eye color & shape/size for this look. It really makes your irises pop. The entire look, plus new hair lift, bring out the safety pin earrings. 🖤

As a Goth girl with hooded eyelids, this was super helpful! I feel like a lot of the mistakes I've been making were clarified so that I can avoid them. I did want to ask what about a liner? Can liner be applied along the top lash line with this look, or is it just too much?
I have about 20 black eyeshadows in my collections of pallets, but always shy away from them because I think it would be unforgiving and scary, but this looks okay. Just gotta find the black cream base
Recently for my base I used maybelline super stay matte liquid lipstick in Black. My makeup stayed in place even after several hours of go-go dancing
I have very deep set eyes like you do and have hereditary dark circles too. I have never been able to wear a black smokey eye or any smokey eye for that matter without looking like I received two black eyes lol I’m going to give this a try. I don’t dress up for Halloween but might do it this day in case it looks bad I’ll just say it’s part of my costume 😂
THIS. This is my look. This is my vibe. Absolutely love it! And when you talked about the under eye darkness, it made me laugh so hard! My whole life’s work is correcting my under eye darkness! 🖤
when you said contour, it just blew my mind, even before you demonstrated I was like "amazing! genius! absolutely!" absolutely genius idea
I love how you have the kind of face where all black just looks casual, i know two people irl like it too.

I can't emphasise enough how beautiful your skin is 💖
I love how you do your inner corner more towards your nose where the darkness is, instead of right on that inner tear duct like a lot of people do. That's EXACTLY what I like to do and it didn't spoil the black smoky look imo

I'm going to have to try both of those as an eyeliner. I'm much older (53) and have begun to use black eyeshadow as eyeliner. (spritzed with a setting spray.) Trust me, once you're my age a black shadow just works better!😁🥴

I'm in my 30s and I do that trick too. Half line of black eyeshadow on my upper lash line blended at the edges and just a gentle wisp of the nearly empty brush on the outside corner on the lower lid. It can be defining but subtle for natural looking everyday makeup. Or I do the same thing but with a brown shadow if I really want to do the "no make-up" makeup look aka the "I just rolled out of bed looking this perfect" illusion.

@@Draggonny What do you use? I've been just using a standard black or brown eyeshadow. I spray my angled eye brush with setting spray then dip it in the shadow. My shadows are starting to get a bit gunked up, though. I'm wondering if a better quality shadow would help and stop the shadow from gunking up like that. I've also seen actual cake eyeliners but I have never tried any yet. I just can't use the shadows dry. Not as a liner. They end up smearing and moving around unless I've gotten them wet before putting on.

@@GreenEyedGumby You know what, I almost got Ingots Duraline. I watch Jaime French and she used to use it often. I ended up getting the Elf version of it. It didn't do so well. The Elf drops works great for a dried up gel liner and things like that but I tried mixing it with a powdered shadow and it just didn't work that well. (I only used the TEENIEST, TINIEST dop of it but it sheered it out too much.) The drops do work great for sheering out cream/liquid blush, though. So it wasn't a waste. I may end up trying the Inglot Duraline anyway. Elf is pretty good with their dupes but maybe they just missed with the drops. 🤷🏻 Thanks!
