@@BoneDaddyNJ I think Finneas said in a Jimmy Fallon interview that he is 4 years older than Billie. I read it in another article that he wrote and produced it originally for his band, but when he produced it for Billie he was 17. I didn't wanna get into the nitty-gritty of when he actually did it, be it 16 or 17. I love the song and either way it's impressive for a person of his age, and that was my point.

@@ManiMandal2k Billie was born at the end of 2001 so practically 2002 so for most of the year she is 5 years younger than Finneas. I read an interview where he said he had written it for his band originally but then gave it to Billie when she needed a song to choreograph a dance to. But regardless he was an experienced musician at a young age. It's not talked about as much as what Billie did at her age because there are lots of young, successful producers and singers who are 16/17/18 but rarely any successful artists at 13.

That part almost made me cry. It's so utterly sad. If I could I'd go back in time and hug that girl, like damn. No one should have to feel like that, especially at such a young age. That song ended up being my most listened to song of 2019, for various reasons. As heavy as it is, it really does feel like a weight being lifted somehow. But being dropped at the same time. And it was so beautifully done. The ending, reminding listeners of the aftermath, too...it's such an important thing to talk about.

I loved how candid the whole thing was-- no setup interview moments, everything real and vulnerable and off the cuff. It's easy to forget while she's slaying the game how young she actually was when she was blowing up, and was suddenly held to these crazy standards. Much love for her parents and her brother because that life is insanity and they seem to really ground her.

So this is from personal experience but I love the dynamics and how this documentary does really show time passing. I say this because in the beginning of the movie you can see Billie writing in her notebook and drawing everything she could while around 2:00hr she is looking back through the journal reflecting on her past and how much she has grown. it is quiet warming to see somebody that actually got out of the deep depression spiral that is being a teenager. Edit: I forgot I wrote this shi but damn was that inspiring

i SOBBED during this doc. a few months before quarantine i injured my foot the same way she injured hers on stage (teared two ligaments from my ankle). it was the biggest pain i’ve ever felt in my life. i went through the same treatment and physical therapy as her, but i couldn’t complete it because everything shut down, so i still feel a lot of pain. seeing her being *her* and being so honest about her struggles brought me so much hope for both my mental and physical health. she’s younger than me but i want to be her when i grow up.

Honestly this documentary might be my favorite so far because of how raw and honest everything is. She is such a strong and incredible woman and I am so proud to be a fan of hers. (Lol I know she says that she doesn’t consider fans her fans but I feel kind of awkward saying that I’m a part of her.)
