This movie is more about the atmosphere, the mythos and nostalgic feeling for an era long gone. It's a slice of life type of a movie, where journey is more important than the end destination. It's more about capturing a feeling. I dig this kind of stuff. Thank you for the review.

Re: The ending. Jeff Nichols is basically making a modern 'drive-in' style biker movie. In the same way Psycho is Hitchcocks 'drive-in' movie. Decades ago, the US had moral codes required by film makers. At the time, one could show all the (reasonable) sex and violence on screen, but the characters involved in said sex and violence always had to get their comeuppance in the end. To get their stories told, different directors, producers, writers, worked around this limitation. Often garnering sympathy for their protagonists by placing poor, but good people in situations requiring absurd heroism. Much of this cinematic nihilism made it's way to post-war Europe and helped to fuel the French New Wave of cinema. Which then influenced a whole hew set of US film students and they made their own 'drive-in' movies. (see: Easy Rider, Taxi Driver, Deliverance, et al.) So, like, the bummer ending of this film has been a culturally cyclical phenomenon in media for almost a century now.

Does look interesting. But I think I'll wait for it to be on Netflix.

Didn't Hunter S Thomson follow the Hells Angels for a while before realising they were a pack of deprived animals? Is that the reporter he was on about?

@@phantom213 You're a born follower. I'm not an actor. if I was jealous why wouldn't I have disparaged Tom Hardy as well? I didn't because he has actual talent. Austin Butler just ate the King of Hollywood's load now he's set for life. And you want to eat his.

Disappointing. Disjointed, thin, weak plot. Based on a photo book, and I think it shows. Wish it had been better.

The movie was kinda a snore and it went nowhere. It also was an unentertaining Goodfellas with motorcycles.

I lived this era. It is a real history. The return of the macho man. Give me Toxic masculinity any day. This is before the Ken and Barbie Bull. . You feel the freedom of a not so politically correct time and it's pretty enthralling. I agree it's a lost era, but a time when you could do your thing whether people liked it or not. Good Job. Mary
