A racing bakkie? With a 12,000rpm redline? And a sequential gearbox? Yes, those are a bunch of words which aren't often seen together, but this is a truly special build which on paper doesn't make much sense, but in real life, is more than the sum of its parts.
Stephan Fouche at Mad Dog Racing had a dream to put a bike engine into a little Nissan 1400, and when the chassis and engine became available, he set to work. It took nearly 700 hours of work but here it is, a superbly built racecar unlike anything we've ever seen.
The naturally aspirated motor screams to the 12,000rpm redline in every gear. Getting used to a sequential gearbox took a lap or two for our video guy, Ciro De Siena, but once he got the hang of it, the bakkie absolutely blew him away.

Glad YOU enjoyed it. Would have loved to see more of the Technical side of the build.
I'm tall. 6' something, and had to take one of those 1400's to a customer once. Let's just say, I won't easily forget the struggle to get in, never mind driving with my knees next to my ears!

a datto club member is 6 feet 8 inches 120kg of muscle and drove one daily, no one could believe when that giant of a man uncoiled himself out of his sardine can with wheels and then casually goes on his way. I guess his time in the fetus position while in the uterus.

I saw this in the flesh Idle Fest. The workmanship and attention to detail is really excellent. Really love the ingenuity of the rear suspension.

Got my old 57 Volvo PV444, and now I'm thinking about the same, the original 1100 motor gave out in 1987 at 350,00 miles, and I been tape measuring different engines for a couple decades, this really looks like fun

No speed man... I recon a normal 1400 will kick its ass on a quarter mile... All looks sadly no driving experience.. My 900t will kick his ass

150 wheel hp You loose some through the propshaft and diff Yes its not alot but its like 3 times a 1400 makes and more than some turbo builds
How about converting the Bajaj to a 250cc or 500cc

IT MAKES A 150 HP AT 10000,IT ONLY LIMITS AT 12000 SO MAKES AROUND 165HP AT 12K

It does yes. The owner made a special adaptation to get reverse to work.

Got to get decent MPG motorcycles are great on fuel consumption. Give us a #.
Very well built but an odd combination. That motor would have been better in an Ariel Atom or a Lotus 7 type car.

It was build that way the owner drives v8 sprint cars where the steering is against you. Its actually very comfortable if its set up to you

Yeah its really quick But the back was cut before we put the cbr in as there was a twin turbo v8 inside so we wanted to run drag tyres Thats why it was cut originally

@@jakebrakeafrica9791 extremely difficult to say. you will need a clean bakkie, seats, engine around R25k then you hope its good. you have to manufacture engine mounts, propshaft, shifter, sprayjob ect. then you have to get management. all that is just to get it running, then comes all the small parts project like this with all the carbonfiber and labour you looking at R250+
The whole video is just you driving the car no info
I feel you could have done a better job showing us the car.
