Interesting fact with Mark Stone is the Senators didn't draft him with their own pick. The Senators traded backup goaltender Alex Auld to the Dallas Stars for a 6th round pick which the Sens used to draft Mark Stone. So what initially seemed like a nothing trade turned out to be one of the best trades in Senators history. And ironically Stone and the Golden Knights just defeated the Dallas Stars!

I agree it's way too early to tell on those most recent draft but one has to monitor the development of Jordan Dumais, 2nd to last 3rd pick in 2022. He does not even play first line, is not always on the PP either, in a very competitive QMJHL team (2nd best after the Remparts actually) yet was the only other kid with a points production similar to Connor Bedard's in this underrated CHL branch. He finished the regular season with 54 goals and 86 assists, got much less time on ice than most of his more experienced teammates in the playoffs and still racked up 21 points in 15 PO games. Kid has a lot to improve upon to even make it into the NHL one day, on defense & physicality mostly, but will most likely have to play first line next year as several of his most talented teammates won't be returning due to the age limit which could help him work a lot on those aspects, will be very interesting to see.

I would've had Bratt over Fox for 2016. Now, Fox is definitely better and in a vacuum is the logical choice for steal of the draft. However, Bratt is a 6th round pick which is a lot more impressive than a 3rd. So we are looking at a 6th for a top line winger vs a 3rd for a top 5 offensive defender; slight edge to Fox. HOWEVER, the second fact here is that, a big part of why Fox dropped, beyond is size, is that he only wanted to play for one team. This essentially means, Fox would be a steal for only 1 team while being a wasted pick for the others in the draft. So with those two things in mind, I think Jesper Bratt is the biggest steal from that year.

What about juuso pärssinen drafted in the 7th round in 2019 by the preds and he got 25 points in 45 games this season as a rookie. I feel like he deserves an honorable mention at least

In my opinion the 2015 draft was the best with the number one overall was Connor mcdavid and second overall was jack eikle and kirill kaprzov and a lot of other players that are really good Sorry for the spelling on some of the words

My only objection to this is if it’s a goalie they should have to be 5th round or later. I feel like goalies are such an unknown coming into the league. But other than that, love the content.

Hate to see Fox here, he wasn’t exactly a diamond in the rough just openly said he wouldn’t play for anyone so there’s no point in drafting him
