You are gonna struggle if you don't upgrade blues on your main team. What people don't seem to understand is that you don't need to minmax these disc and only use them as temporary stat sticks and you can eventually use them later on as exp fodder.

Please do NOT BUY A-rank characters from shop. Buy Master Tapes (gatcha tickets) instead. You gonna pull a LOT for limited S-rank characters. That's mean a lot of A-rank stuff including chars. I have already Anton on C5 as F2P.

Addint to this, in this game getting the banner 4* is easier compered to GI or HSR because they only put two of them on one banner so buying 4*-s from the shop have lower value here.

Yes! But the it can still be someone’s favorite similar to Genshin for Kaeya example, I think it’s worth to get his copies if you love him!

Note on Drive Discs: it can be worth getting a few very basic discs, cause contrary to GI and HSR, ZZZ doesn't give you a load of them through exploration - I personally improved my time on one of the Challenge commissions from 5 minutes to less than 4 minutes just by giving lv6 B-rank sets with a good 4-piece bonus to each of the characters in the team. That being said, there's indeed absolutely no point farming a lot them before you can reliably get S-ranks - I spent exactly 180 charge on 2 quick sets (plus a free Shockstar Disco set) and now I'm waiting.

But you get enough of that currency you need to print the disc at the shop and you can choose what kind of disc you want, that's enough for the set bonus which is enough at low levels.

Sound advice. While the stats are almost useless on B-A tier, the set bonuses are still pretty good to pass on. You get materials from progressing anyway, so giving your team a few basic sets is very easy and stamina-free.

Really appreciate the video, I'm getting to that point where resource grinding is about to hamstring me if I manage it poorly. At Level 22 and starting to team build, this helps a lot, cheers and best of luck! Also I hope family issues get settled in a copacetic manner, sending good vibes

I agree with your points overall but I think some exception can and should be made. For example individual drive disks are obviously only worth to farm at higher lvls BUT getting the 4 piece set bonus is really worth it and those 60 energy will not be wasted. Same with lvling characters. yes its not worth getting all characters up to your current max BUT getting the first "ascension" for everyone is totally worth it. 3 gray materials in exchange for a single pull on standard banner? Hell yea The only thing I want to add to your last point is to honestly go for billy, nicole and anby dupes. If they treat them as they did in genshin those three will never be on rate up and that makes them so much rarer and harder to get on c6. so whenever they are available in the shop they should be the main target with exception of new units you just weren't lucky enough to get yet.

there's domain just like genshin if you've played that before, you get them at a certain internot level

Tbh, for end game content you need two teams, but for sure, start with one solid one, I for example use Nekomata, Anri and Suokaku, it's not the best team but it has enough synergy to carry me for lvl 30 content for now with some amount of comfort and it's fun to play.

i didnt do any of these mistakes because i learned from hsr and wuwa. my ellen will always be ready for the next lvl breakpoint. the only thing that i did and im not sure if it was correct: i was running ellen, soukaku and grace but ended up replacing grace with anby because it was getting kinda hard stunning bosses at lvl 30 content. and anby can be also used for more parry occassions.

Definitely was gonna try and focus on leveling 6 characters at the same time lol. I was skeptical about wasting a lot of the resources you mentioned and I’m glad I didn’t. I’ll have a team for endgame and I’ll progress others slowly when I want a little variety by playing easier missions.

For the engines, there are some cases in hsr where standard lightcones still perform. Like Clara's lightcone or Himeko's lightcone

yes but we dont know the true power of these standard w-engines as of yet, we should know in a week or two how strong they can actually be for endgame

I fell into that trap of farming artifacts early in the game when there’s no real need to yet until things get harder. You can get through pretty much all the content without having discs at all. Just focus on upgrading characters and your skills. Because if you played any hoyo game a lot of your damage comes from skills and upgrading your character. Artifacts are just the icing on it. Solid Points because I fell into this trap when I first played Genshin and thought I needed to build every character and farm artifacts incredibly early. This is just good advice for gachas in general

Not at all you’re gonna eventually need a team for every element, just build them one at a time. Get one team to level 40 then you can work on another

As someone who plays zzz and path to nowhere, your point about stocking up resources is so true and valid because even though path to nowhere is a tower defense game, i am DYING everyday now spending most my energy on coins and level up materials. Though thankfully I’m mostly at endgame for path to nowhere so for me personally it’s not really a waste as I have plenty of characters that are max level that I can use as my main team for future stories and event.

Astronomical. My first time actually playing and investing time into a game like this and I've done zero mistakes so far. Tbf I have played hsr but I got a bit bored with having to increase your level to progress the storyline and I lost interest in the storyline. But ZZZ is honestly the best game I have played to date. I believe that’s more of a personal thing! I would look at how many characters you really plan on leveling up in the future and you should be able to determine eventually how much stock you should keep!

It’s not a waste if you use them for guaranteed upgrades like leveling up characters and w-engines but I personally would save them in case a character came out you love so you have a lot of resources to use for them!

Is it worth it to even grind for regular Master Tapes? Encrypted Master Tapes are more valuable for getting a new S rank character that you want. I’m just not sure if that character will show up again once the limited time has passed. Had a thought that the previous S-Rank character would show up in the Stable Channel

It all comes down to shuyi defense though, if you will need some decent DDs to clear more of it before it resets, then you should farm them, instead of uslesss stu that you wont even be ableto use until ater the current shuyi defense expires and you lose the rewards forever.

You have to just keep playing, are you new to gacha games? If you are then you have to play thru the story, play all the combat commissions, play the exploration in the game, get all the achievements, and play the events in the gsme

Once you get to a certain point in Shiyu defense, you do need two teams! Which is number 7 on the first frontier. I don't know when you should start building, but you do need 2 teams at some point.

Yeah...wish I had seen this a couple of days ago when I first started the game. This is my first true endeavor into a gatcha game (normally hate the genre because of money bleeding tactics, but this one is actually different), so I don't know the dos and don'ts. Fortunately, out of the five mistakes here, I've only made two: saving resources and team focusing. I'm at Inter-Knot level 28, and I've already come across lack of resources for character leveling because I treated this like a typical video game and leveled many characters. First I focused on my favorites and built an all out Electric type team (Rina, Anby, Anton). But then I learned how to synergize based on faction and attribution, and I get intimidated by Commissions if I can't meet their attribute recommendations (as a LONG time Pokemon player, bringing super effective damage is like a drug I need). So I began leveling characters beyond my core team, at least one in every attribute. Yes, two-thirds of my roster sit maxed at my current level cap, but now I have NOTHING. So I'm just gonna farm Commissions for my Investigator logs, leave my Drive Discs alone (started experimenting with it, gonna stop now), and continue to use my Polychrome solely on the limited time pulls (STILL have not got Ellen, the one I want anyway and wasted a bunch of Poly on the first two days looking for Nekomata, never got her). I'll keep these tips in mind and try to rectify the mistakes I already made. Thank you! I'm new at this, but maybe there's hope for me if I reach endgame!

So uh...I have the whole cunning hares trio (billy anby and Nicole) at level 30...they are the strongest characters I have in my small roster right now...does that mean I have to stick with those characters for the rest of the game even after finding characters that I like more?- (Don't get me wrong I love the cunning hares, that's why I leveled them up so much to begin with, but there are also a few characters that I'm interested in and would love to play with. Note: I still don't have an S-Rank character, I'm level 24 and I've been playing since its release, been piling up all my polychrome and master tapes by doing missions. And of course, combining that with the initial rewards I had from pre-ordering the game and the ones from the mail I got for free...I've stacked up quite a bit for pulls.

Another tip to add, keep an eye on the daily coffee you can get at the coffee shop, each day there will be coffee that will buff the drop rate for materials, so not only you get 60 extra energy daily, you also get some extra materials

@@KetteiThe7th_ Wait wait it’s not like I hate Ben or the animal characters or anything like that. I just don’t really like how Ben feels to play. He’s just kinda slow and tbh if I can just land dodges at the right time, I won’t really need defense buffs anyway. The reason why I have Piper as my third is because she can help deal with more crowded situations, help stun enemies, and build up damage super easily with the assault anomaly. Plus I can try to inflict assault and burn on an enemy around the same time and cause disorder, which basically removes even more health. I’m pretty sure there are videos using that team that show just how devastating Soldier 11, Lucy, and Piper can be together. You could check them out if you want

Well, I kinda agree with you, but as a veteran Genshin player who reached out to the Ar60 abyss tryharder, I would say that without disc and upgrading some of it, the struggle is real, especially when you face the challenge of combat and sh*t. I think upgrading your stats is worth it while the game itself still gives you a lot of resources anyway. Just keep in mind to upgrade the characters that you play the most, not all of them.

Nah lol, but batteries are not wasted if you use them for guranteed upgrades like weapons and stuff but if your not in a rush I would just hold on to them and you can have a stockpile in the future to use on whatever you want!

the biggest worry about the electric synergy with rina x anby/grace x anton rn is that there isnt a 5 star electric dps agent yet so its gonna feel very lacking. my first run i pulled rina and did rina x anby x anton and it was okay… but it just wasnt good enough for me. i would wait for a better electric if i were you

I think there is some nuance for some of these. For the fuel, I think there IS merit in using them "below level 35". I have put them into raising my team. All of them. I've spent it all. And I think it's a worthwhile investment because 1) the way experience works, energy is more worthwhile early on as the thresholds between levels is smaller in the lower levels compared to higher levels, and 2) GUARENTEED upgrades will always be more worthwhile than CHANCE upgrades. I'm currently at lv. 33, and have unlocked not only more story content but also more Hollow Levels, which has significantly increased my enjoyment of the game. I DO NOT BELIEVE that there is a "right time" to use fuel. Yes, there's "wrong times" like farming discs early on, but there's just as strong of an argument towards using them for guaranteed upgrades and account progression. Yes, it's not a race, why would you use them to progress your account level. It's because that's what I want to prioritized. And having cleared up to Shiyuu Defence 6 with all S-Rank clears, and having the ONLY reason I cannot progress be that I need to raise a 2nd team. I cannot say that it was a bad investment. As for the W Engines, I think the same argument stands. Would I rather a strong engine, or 30 pulls? because on one hand, yes it is expensive to get the engine. But on the other hand, 30 pulls is really not that much, and you could just as likely get shafted with your pulls, making that 30 pulls wasted in a way. I think the right way to do it is to hoard these currencies, and decide what you'd like to prioritize more. For me personally, I have 117 pulls saved up, and I have no intention of pulling for the foreseeable future. But Alexandrina's W Engine is a HUGE boost in account value, not only because I have her on my account, but also because it's a downright insane support engine, giving Pen Ratio%, off-field energy regen, alongside a 20.2% attack boost. So I would really like to get it. Same logic and rules applies to the A-Rank Agents in the store. Again as I said before, it's guaranteed upgrades versus chance upgrades. Hopefully I don't sound too disrespectful. I'd like you to know that !'m not saying this to dispute or discredit the points you made, but rather to show that saying it's the wrong decision isn't painting the whole picture. At the end of the day this is a PvE game, so playing in a way that allows you to enjoy it best should be the driving factor. And having played multiple gacha games regularly, there really isn't any kind of damage you can do to an account that isn't fixable with better planning when moving forward.

I didn’t mean to come off as NEVER use your fuel Srry if it felt that way, you are correct if your using your fuel for guaranteed upgrades then it’s not a complete waste at all! And it can be worth to use some of your fuel before 35 I just don’t think you should use ALL of your fuel before 35 imo!

You’re right that there’s nuance to the energy situation.. it all comes down to how you feel about all of the different time gated content. Personally, farming for drive discs takes potential months, so shortening that length to build my team is more valuable to me than any other time-gated content in the game. That said, farming drive discs is probably going to be hell already, so valuing making the story more enjoyable instead of just making a grind less terrible is also valid. I guess it comes down to how much you hate the drive disc grind! A lot of the people watching this may not be familiar with this type of grind though, so I can understand why Kettei would recommend saving for it. It teaches them discipline, which is not only a valuable skill, but a necessary skill for these types of games. If they spend it for story progression, depending on the player….that wall later is gonna hit hard. Harder than if they’d waited to use the batteries.

I had the same plan for the W engine. But not anymore course i get 2 S Rank w engine from the standard. Big lucky is Rinas wich is my first S Rank agent. Than i got a attack one. So for me i take the chance in this case. Wish you all luck and fun with the game.

i dont agree with the batteries. We do need to use them to level up more easily. Plus, we still need to wait a bit until farming discs is super important so honestly just spend them to level up. We´ll get more of them

So this point on the batteries I explained myself more in my follow up video, but this video is for super casuals and I didn’t state that so it’s my fault, but for casual who play less than an hour a day and aren’t in a rush to min max for endgame there’s no need to rush to use them. But anyone else it’s perfectly fine to use them whenever

what kettei said, im using lycaon x ellen x soukaku (had to reroll like 8 times lol) and also got ellen w-engine and its probably one of the strongest teams in the game right now. Great DPS, great synergy and reaaaally fun to play. I def recommend rerolling if you can to get him

6:20 every advice are correct except for this one. It's the same misconception from genshin and honkai. You should use your batteries now (on anything other than discs) so you can hit higher levels earlier. There is no advantage saving them for later.

This advice is mostly for the casuals in the game, they gain nothing from hitting higher levels early because they only play a little bit a day, so I think it’s better for them to save their batteries for future characters they like rather than using them all. If your not a casual them using your batteries is perfectly fine

Funny how all of these tips can be applied to Honkai and Genshin as well. Artifacts and relics are pretty much useless before u can get 5 star ones. Currency runs out fast, when I ran out of mora in Genshin it was a hell grinding it. It's hard making multiple teams considering how much resources you have to use. I really love pulling for new characters and making new teams but then I remember that gacha games are so grindy. The best thing in gacha games are getting new characters bit It's a hell when you have to build them. Resources get thin and it requires a lot of grinding just to build a new character especially the more further in the game you are. I'm still in early game in ZZZ but in Genshin after I maxed my first team I ran out of mora and other resources making a new 4 characters team journey so long. I'm scared that ZZZ will probably follow the same path.

Some those S rank W-engine are literaly game changing items. Like top right one for Nekomata that one lone increases her dmg by 45%. Bottom left one for Solider 11 that on increases her dmg by 48%. Not sure how you can tell me to ignore them when alternative is a 5% increase in dmg. Don't get me wrong yes you could get 30 exclusive pulls instead and that is impressively better if your trying to get the banner character but if your not trying to force the banner character those engines are 100% better to go for than 30 attempts at the banner character.

Now I have said in 2 follow-up videos now if you don’t see a future character you want coming anytime soon, then go for the w-engine it’s not gonna hurt ya. But if you see characters you want, prioritizing them is more worth it

I managed to somewhat disagree with several of your points. 1. 35 is where Drive Disks can drop 1 S rank per run. If the trend follows HSR, 45 is probably where you're guaranteed 2 per run. Although you shouldn't extensively farm drive disks at 35 and maybe not even at 40, it should be worthwhile to do a few runs to pick up a few pieces to round out your sets. 2. Based on my HSR experience, where I started towards the end of 1.2, I never actually ran out of credits and I only did a little bit of credit farming due to people who were advising it. The main primary resource that I ran out of, a lot, during my experience, has always been light cone XP. Particularly if you're limiting the number of units you're raising, you shouldn't need to prefarm dennies. Promotion and Skill materials are probably a better bet. If you got enough, start prefarming for your second team. 3. Based on that same HSR experience, I was able to raise 2.5 teams without running out of materials, up until I got all ten of them to level 70. Because Shiyu Defense requires 2 teams, you should already be looking ahead and planning out your second team. When it comes to maxing out a character, if it follows the general trend, bringing a character to 60 and maxing out everything costs twice as much as bringing them to 50, and about four times as much as bringing them to 40. Now, again, my experience with HSR had me starting late, and that gave me some extra resources from the extended storyline that launch players did not have. Still, if you want to challenge the end game content, you should be fine to raise two teams. The main consideration is, will you pull someone in patch 1.1 or 1.2 that will completely throw out some members or all of your secondary team? Personally, I'm gambling on disorder holding up for a few patches and being a worthwhile low investment team that I can use to invest in now before pivoting to something else later down the line. 4. On saving fuel... I once worked out why saving fuel was slightly more efficient than spending it but I can't what it was. The main argument for not saving them is that there are no events where spending your fuel later is more efficient than spending them now. The farming stages you can run now that are less efficient simply front load the stamina expenditure you'd be using to reach the next proxy level breakpoint anyway. The biggest efficiency value you can probably get from saving up fuel is likely to be pushing your way to the next promotion to improve your weekly boss fight rewards (think of every fuel as a bonus 600 proxy XP), or to squeeze out a bit more farming to improve your Shiyu Defense attempt before it ends. I do overall agree with the message of not spending them right away - they're more useful for things like this when spending them usually isn't going to get you that much anyway, but there's no need to hang on to them until legendary proxy either. 5. I do agree with not buying the W-engines from the shop right away, but that's more due to not knowing right now which one might be the equivalent of Bronya's light cone (which I managed to still not get, because I spent my savings on Firefly E2 instead). I'm not sure spending them on A-rank units for constellations are worth it, but it might be worthwhile to get a new A rank you haven't managed to pull yet. If you don't plan on pulling on weapon banners (which I only did for Kafka's rerun and now Firefly), you might want to get one of those W-engines once it's clearer which one holds the most long-term value. Right now, except maybe buying a W-Engine in the shop, I don't think any F2P/low spending players are in any position to have made irreparable mistakes... unless they already went all out on disk drive farming when they haven't even unlocked S rank drops yet.

Credits it just depends on how many agents you actually plan to raise cause in Star rail I was starving for credits all the time cause I wanted to build a lot of teams 3. I think players should build one team up then build the second instead of trying to build 6 at one time 4. If your a casual like most people are I don’t think rushing to spend all your fuel is worth it when the game ain’t going anywhere and your just getting stuff a few days faster, I would spend it once you have a clear position on what you want to do with your account 5. Absolutely do not spend on W engines rn. F2P and low spenders should get the limited pulls instead. Maybe a w engine could be valuable later on but it isn’t rn imho

Essentially the same issues that all the other Mihoyo games have except for Honkai Impact, early game being anti-consumer and punishing you for wanting to build more than three characters, at the very least early game here is more tolerable than in Genshin

After reaching IK35,i've circled back to this video,and here's my advice: At max,you should be building 6 characters. Anby,Nicole,and your first standard should carry you until your first limited character. The Signal shop talent chips are shortcuts worth getting IF you have bought out the 10 searches and can keep your shop currency reserves above 900 for next month's reset. If you really like a character,wait for them to pop up in the monthly store,but remember they cost 7 searches you could buy instead. One shop S rank W-engine= 30 shop pulls,so i'd highly not recommend them.

just a perspective as a video editor, your concise and paced way of talking is really good for videos like this. However, make sure youre using a script instead of freeballing the info as you record. Nothing turns viewers away more than a slow pace of narration thats also full of repeated lines and improvised filler. I can understand wanting to meet the 10min mark but dont do it this way, especially when hundreds of channels are already covering these same topics in much shorter, more straight to the point videos
