The Biggest "Fall Off" of All Time..

Музыка

Chance the Rapper had everything going for him in earlier 2010's. His mixtape ACID RAP is deemed as one of the greatest mixtapes EVER by many hip-hop enthusiasts, including myself. Once he dropped Coloring Book in 2016 - things only seemed like they would be going up for him. However, after getting married, and dropping one of the worst hiphop albums of all time.. he absolutely disappeared off the face of the planet. Today, we go through all the events that made Chance a star, to how he landed himself in the position he finds himself in today.

That positivity was exclusive to the album. In real life he was double crossing his day 1s, firing the people letting him know how bad the albuk was and shitting on his fans. Also, the quality on the album is just not good at all. Sonically, it was bad.

A lot of people don’t understand that “celebrities” are humans too. They are like us everyday people except they have the title of being a celebrity. Just like Chance people stop or slow down eventually bc that’s the way humans are. They can’t keep doing something that doesn’t make them happy even if it looks that way.

Why is the genre so negative? It’s sad that bringing positive vibes gets you killed. I can understand legit criticism, but people hate for the sake of doing so.

Songs and albums don't deserve praise just because they're "positive". You're simplifying what happened in a disingenuous way. The album was thrash regardless of how positive it was and the way he handled the backlash is what really killed his music career. People didn't dislike it *just* because it was "positive". He was clearly a beloved rapper before the album dropped so saying it "hating for the sake of hating" is ridiculous and pretty much always a cope when used as a defense.

Because rap us a bunch of dr Seuss rhymes about murder, drugs and women. If you release an album talking about rainbows and unicorns nobody will listen. It makes you think, hip hop is the number one genre in the world, at the same time minority violence is out of control too. There are no such things as coincidences

It’s our community. We thrive off of negativity and bull💩! Shame but true. We promote negativity like that’s the way to go about your life. We can never stick together and prosper. I listen to the drill and stuff but my music also goes beyond that. I can separate the real from the fake. Hope Chance and more positive rappers can offset some of the nonsense that our kids are force fed on a daily basis.

I'm literally appalled at people shitting on Chance for being POSITIVE?!!! Imagine having children and opening your mouth to shame an influential artist for being "too positive", in a genre that is so plagued by violence, that not one single year goes by that a rapper isn't murdered. Like you have a million slaughter house gangster rappers to pick an album from and you're dissing the one rapper who grew up in ChiRaq and doesn't want to perpetuate death in a city his family lives in, IMAGINE. I'm convinced that a significant amount of people have been given over to a reprobate mind....

  • @MrGreen-nl3yv

As someone from Chicago's south side, I found it refreshing to see people like Chance coming from my neighborhood. However, the hate he receives for being "too positive" confirms that we, as a society, are addicted to the drama-filled side of Chicago. Chance was showing that not every person from Chicago's south side embraces foolishness. We had King Von, Durk, and Chief Keef - three, from my experience, who were certified criminals. I wanted to see a balance, and I believed that Chance was necessary. The only downfall was his album, which talked about his strong-faced wife. What city in America fully wanted to be known for violence? and you do know that type of publicity drives the economy which drives away the tourists and there goes the jobs. We don't want to end up like Detriot we want to thrive like New York and Los Angeles and haters like Joe Budden and Wale prove that my city has influence cause I just saw a video of people in all places in Alaska acting like O-block.
