Globally, UFC is already bigger than NFL & MLB. Many people from all over other continents outside America stay at night or wake up very early or stucked in front of their TV Sunday to watch UFC. They don't even watch/follow American football or baseball.

In terms of Revenue, MLB and NFL are miles ahead of ufc . But MLB and NFL are purely American sports leagues. UFC is more global in terms of the recognition from fans, but STILL doesn’t have the number of fans the NFL or MLB do. And that speaks volumes to just how popular NFL and MLB are because they are American sports leagues.

@@dingusbro925 Testing for ONE is more strict on testing regulations than UFC. Their weight cutting includes hydration and their fighters are tested through WADA. You're probably just used to seeing fighters sucked dry from cutting weight, that doesn't happen there.

Not sure about Bellator, but if One manages to appeal to casuals, then I can see it giving UFC some problems. One is pretty big is Asia, and I like how they have many things going on (BJJ, MMA, mixed rule set) and it's appealing to many fans of the sport. They just don't have big names yet and they can also do better when it comes to promoting fights and fighters.

Another factor is the time difference. Most of ONE'S Events are free on KZread. However for someone like me in California those events usually happen at 5am. But i get it they're deciding to stream it for the audience in Asia.

ONE has better striking battles due to Kickboxing, Muy thai, etc. UFC will forever reign supreme in the MMA aspect though.

I watch many UFC events, but I started enjoying ONE Championship a bit more over the past couple of years.

I watch UFC every sunday around 11am here in the Philippines with hangover, and then drink some beer while watching the fight knowing I have to go work on monday. That is UFC 😅

@@Kang501 : No doubt. Football has overtaken Baseball in this country. MMA is a growing sport but still it still has to compete with Boxing in the States and around the world. Plus Kick Boxing is still very popular as well. As for UFC fans being popular due to Conservatives. Probably true because Conservatives are always trying to prove their manly hood even though the fan base is very diverse.

Dana already bought a Scott Coker promotion, Strikeforce. Also Dana realizes he needs the competition so he can pay fighters as independent contractors instead of employees. Scott personality is perfect to attract the fighters he wants. Those that Dana no longer wants but have name recognition already. UFC is shrinking their roster so those fighters need places to go.

Personality is part of it, but Dana also understands the sport at a granular level. He knows it better than anyone on the planet. Dana is personality plus competence. Having just a brash personality isn't enough.

UFC is underrated as hell compared to some sports

So thankful chandler made the move to the ufc, one of the best signings they’ve ever made

Scott Coker does his thing in his own way and no good hating on him at all. Each person brings something to the table Scott has his own way of doing things and Bellator haven't done so bad, they still pay their fighters don't they? Give props were they are due, Scott and Bellator are not be as big as Dana and the UFC but they have provided jobs and opportunity for fighters like Chandler to move onto bigger and better things like the UFC. Scott has a heart of gold no taking that away from him and he will always be remembered as the man that brought us Strikeforce, a top class MMA promo that brought in 4 UFC champions and several top contenders. Chandler of all people and you Patrick should not belittle the many achievements of Scott Coker.

It's not just Dana's brashness that gets eyes on the sport. The ufc is by far the absolute best at promoting. Marketing geniuses. I know Conor mcgregor is a superstar, but let's be real, where would he be on nthe Bellator roster? The ufc are marketing monsters and they've made superstars out of sooooo many fighters. Dana and his team know exactly what fight fans want, and they deliver. Let's see some brash guy buy belator and replicate that.

Simple. UFC is universally recognized as the "Big Show" aka A-League. Bellator is B-League. There are great fighters in Bellator but they can't call themselves the best until they get to the UFC and beat their champions.

Fedor not signing with the ufc at his peak was because of the market at that time in Japan was alot bigger than the mma market in the US then ufc bought pride and Fedor went to Bellator to avoid fighting in the ufc. Ufc guys are cursing, drinking beer out of shoes, etc. These guys are just guys being themselves. It’s very refreshing to see people be themselves.

The thing that I don’t like about One is the referee that kept interferring with the fighters, constantly wanting the fighters to have action all the time, no room for maneuver and tactics.

To cry about fighter pay at this point in his fighting career is ridiculous and to waste his prime year fighting on negotiation rather than expanding his name values winning more fights to get bigger contract down the line is madness. I dont know what show his team is running unable to net profit as heavyweight champ while making 7 digits+ income per fight.

If yoy are an mma fan, which you don't sound like, you would appreciate the fact that their are more mma organizations meaning more mma and never a moment without action, more opportunities for fighters to feed their team and family, more chances of growing this sport.
