    Very Important video Delilah. I think the natural hair journey is all about accepting the hair that grows out of your hair. You can ENCOURAGE your curls or waves with techniques and products but you can't CHANGE what has been given to you. Im a wavy and I had some serious curl envy when I started CGM thinking I'll become a curly. Insta also has more 3A-3B curls that are idealised over wavy or coily hair. But thankfully, 2 years in and I know I have loose waves of 2A-2B and it's never gonna have ringlets and thats OKAY.

    Exactly! ❤️ So glad to hear you're accepting your hair as it is. Curl envy is real and affects us all, but we need to be realistic too.

    I finally let go of worrying about the frizz. It is what it is. BTW, I had one if the best curl days ever after I watched you show serious emulsifying of your products. I've seen it before but in four years, no one ever really showed it. Thanks.

    I guess I’m lucky, my hair gets better every day after wash day. I go a week and could go longer, but my scalp starts getting itchy. I just discovered my curls 1 month ago, thanks to my stylist. My whole life (68 years) I have been straightening my hair. I am happy to be embracing my curls, I feel free now!!!

    I agree. I wanted to have frizz free 3b hair. After 3 years on the CG method w/o cowash and trying a bunch of different products, I realized I had to appreciate my 2c hair for what it is and there is nothing wrong with that. I will say that taking care of my hair has improved my curls, I have gone from 2a/2b to mostly 2c and some 3a and 3b pieces.

    Hello Delilah, thank you so much for this honest video. I am at the beginning of my curly journey and I am overwhelmed by the variety of products and all of these videos on youtube where people present their perfect curls and they probably just use a lot of products to look like this. So don't believe them, as they just make money with this videos and it's their job to sell products. I have also fine hair, that unfortunately can easy be weighed down. On the next day after wash my hair isn't that curly as it was, but as you said it's normal. I wish all those influencers would stop to do so like they had the perfect hair. That's why I like to see your video's because you have a healthy relationship to your hair!❤

    This is why I don’t understand why so many people prefer their hair on day 2 or 3 as opposed to on day 1.

    I think it's my low porosity hair but my hair looks the same, whether it's day 1 or day 4. Frizz usually isn't an issue but it depends on the product I use. I've been doing this for many months but still trying out new stuff - and I hate when I get something that doesn't work. Sometimes it means trying it out in a different way, like gels that flash dry my hair I combine with my curl cream, which works pretty well but a little bit of frizz by day 3. Can't wait until I finally figure out the exact combination that works best for me!

    Why is it an improvement to have gone from type 2b/2c to 2c with some 3a?

  • @HolisticEnchilada

    @HolisticEnchilada

    It isn't an "improvement" but people expect their hair to get curlier, which in their eyes is improvement.

    We all see those bombarding videos saying “do this and your hair will go from wavy to shiny voluminous spirals!!” So it is tempting and probably confusing and frustrating for so many thinking they can transform their hair type.

  • @columbia2635

    @columbia2635

    @@Dogandcatmom51 The point of doing all of this is to "train" your hair so it's okay to expect it to "improve" some, initially especially as you hone your products. Add to this is that hair can change as you age, environment, beauty care, haircuts, etc. I was a 2c/3a but feel like I'm more and more a 3a, as my curls tend to spiral more than wave. As for it being an improvement...depends on my state of mind. I see people with beautiful 2b/2c waves and sometimes feel a bit jealous, LOL!

    @@columbia2635 , my point is that we shouldn’t imply that any curl type is an improvement over another if we don’t want to perpetuate that idea.
