The least they could do is make it so that the game actually depends on skill and not how much money a person can spend. Card levels are bad game design in every single way except for unethical monetization. I know most people who play Supercell games think that “they’re a business, they need to make a profit” is valid justification for every predatory business practice that it employs, but it’s actually a terrible argument that doesn’t hold any water.

Spawning balloons on your opponents tower, cloning troops that have normal hp, etc, etc. It's a double standard, they let gameplay glitches linger but if it's something that loses them money they fix it within 24 hours and drop a lifetime ban on you for using it. They can say the lifetime bans were unintentional but I find that extremely hard to believe. I'm surprised they even reverted them, they never listen to the community. Supercell is calculated when they do this stuff. Slash royale was definitely calculated. They knew they mislead the community into spending their resources before adding new levels only to play dumb and give half assed apologies/reparations. Supercell only cares about your dollar, not you, so I see no reason to defend their actions and double standards.

I am one of those players and tbh I'm not that salty. My brother was up at the time of the glitch (also a day 1 player) and got 4 maxed champs from 1 chest. Hmm… this reminds me of a similar event that happened back in 2019 mainly for a game most people are familiar of. Any Team Fortress 2 players that is familiar with the Crate Depression would understand. Unfortunately, I’m one of those people that has witnessed this event, but didn’t chose to exploit that bug… In any cases, if Supercell decided to let the players that abused this bug keep the rewards without reverting it, then there is seriously going to be a problem since unlike unusuals which is mainly a cosmetic effect, high level cards especially champions will make a huge difference in ladder/ranked plays.

the problem with the crate depression was that tf2 has an economy where you can directly sell items to other players for money. if you could sell your champions or ewc straight up to another account i’m sure they would need to revert but as it is it only affects the individual accounts “chance” for purchasing cards in the future. the price supercell can sell these cards for in the shop is functionally unchanged.

😂😂 Truly the Most "Clash Royale"sque moment in Clash royale history... Has there been a single update without any glitch ever?? The only reason they acted swiftly now is because their champions cards were being given out in chests... If it was a card mechanic glitch it would have been patched after 2 days of people abusing them

I don’t get why you guys are mad at F2P players as if only F2Ps benefited for this and as if it’s somehow wrong that they did because they haven’t spent money on this terrible company. You aren’t owes anything for spending money on this game, doesn’t matter how much. It doesn’t make you a better person more deserving of rewards (I’d argue that F2Ps who are constantly screwed over by SC deserve this tiny win more). That being said, you are owed something. What you are owed is an actually good game with a good monetization system, just like every other person. You’re owed a game without card levels (because card levels are an objectively bad mechanic that only exists to arbitrarily make the game harder for people who don’t spend money). You’re owed a game that treats you like a person regardless of whether or not you spend money. You shouldn’t have to spend money to be on equal playing fields, and that’s why I wish even more people could have benefited from this misplay on SC’s part, all of you included.

The greatest bug of the century and I missed out… and what sucks too is I had 4 chests ready to unlock… and I opened them all the day before the update… I don’t even have monk unlocked yet. I’m done, moving back to war thunder would be less of a grind

They’re gonna use this as an excuse for level 16 🤡🤡

Smartest thing that’ll fix it? Revert card levels to before the maintenance patch went live, revert coins, gems, elite wild card quantities. Gift all accounts a reasonably balanced coin, gem, and elite wildcard chest that makes up for the unintended economic disruption in the CR population.

This makes the Lucky Drop exploit feel tame in comparison... 💀.

This happened a long time ago with the 200 megaboxes for $3. They didn't reverse it, and compensation was bad. Doubt anything will change this time

If they can't reverte the changes I wish they compensate the rest of the players in some way, the most fair solution would be giving one of those glitched chests for free but being more realistic a book of books and like 200k ewc

This reminds me of the bug with level 14. When the update dropped some people including me had our accounts set to level 14, and they did not revert the progression. The same scenario may happen here .

I opened a legendary kings chest and got normal rewards around this time. I know they are probably going to revert the rewards but it's unfortunate.

aside from the ewc’s it’s not as crazy as it looks. it only takes about 40 champion cards to max one so it’s not like those other 150 champion cards are gonna do anything besides get converted into ewc which you would already have millions of from one of those chests

if I didn’t see this video, I would never know the bug was there.

I don’t think it will be reverted, a similar thing happened in BS and there was no reverting of the loot

It’ll be so hard to path… bcus people already upgraded their cards with coins so how are they gonna settle that

I think in many places it would be illegal to revert this considering people still pay to open these random packs. It seems to me that this is a problem with the loot box mechanism. I really hope the people who were playing get to keep their stuff, and perhaps others get a boost in their cards.

if they don’t/can’t revert it they have to compensate everyone

I highly doubt we'll receive compensation. Bs had something similar happened twice now (both with summer offers) where you could buy an insane amount of mega boxes for a really low price (1st one with gems, second with money) and they didn't compensate nor reverted anyone when it happened

Brawl stars is a completely different game, and one that is actually profitable. Clash royale is probably barely making any money so the monetization is a lot more predatory and the clash royale team cares a lot more about losing money

I’m so pissed too because I saw people commenting about the glitch on the community post within the time frame of bug but I thought people were just trolling 😭

I am not an advanced programmer but how can you even screw up a champion drop chance from a chest while changing some troop stats in the DB. Like these thing are completely different and I feel there's something more to it than just a random bug.

The dude who has 4.4mill elite wildcards will have close to 90% lvl 15 from 1 bug

Quick reminder: Cards that already have hit lv14/15 get converted to Elite Wildcards if pulled out of a chest. Just as an explanation for the horrendous amounts of Elite Wildcards among the pulls in the Video

I saw a tweet of Ken having a chest opened and though that he was so lucky just to see that it was a bug

This will break the games economy it has to be reverted regardless of "money lost"

Yeah no 2 weeks later, they not only reverted the changes, but they also downgraded cards which i had upgraded prior to the glitch

I was literally playing the game right before maintaince break but didn't open any chest so I missed out 😭

Now everyone is pissed

Damn I mad I did know this till now I needed this 😢

I can already see a ban panic from Supercell happening

Why these bugs never happen when I am online?

im not smart but couldn’t supercell go back to a previous game version before this happened to revert the changes? and also fix the bug to prevent it from happening again?

It happened to me, although I only got dozens of champion cards, still unbelievable for my new account

Only fix is making everyone level 15, and to those who had for example 10 levels 15s before the glitch, make them have 10 level 16s. Scrap the 14>15 costing 50 ewc, and make it so 15>16 costs 50k

The Mega Draft chest is real after all

Imagine putting thousands of dollars in the game only to be instantly underleveled in 2s by a random guy oppening a crown chest

This is unfair because those who won will have an absurd advantage over people who didn't win, I didn't win I was really sad because I didn't win anything

I hope they don't ban accs using this, I randomly opened my main acc's crown chest and it was bugged...

The only reason why they added "Well keep you updated" was because they figuring out how to revert the rewards not compensate everyone for it.

when did the maintenance happen cause i never encountered the glitch

Id like to point out that the brawl stars devs once added an offer that gave 49 mega boxes for 49 gems, as well as a stupidly good 3$ offer, but never reverted the rewards. Crazy how that game still makes way more money huh.

Hey does anybody know if they adressed this problem or does the people still have the rewards?

honestly though this bug is WAY more pressing than anything the game has ever seen, people are complaining about how they only care about profits but supercell could have lost millions because of this
