I'm sure it's going to take me some time to get my head around the idea that *one* lady managed to dismantle and move and then rebuild a shed! I am in awe that you accomplished that feat, by the way. Good on you! And that brings me to a second point, which is that if you can do *that*, meaning move a shed, you certainly can build a gate when the time comes for a second gate. For that matter, I've not a doubt that you could build both gates for your plot but of course you wouldn't be so ungracious as to decline your neighbor's kind and generous offer! Hey BHalliwell 👋 I did do most of it but I got a hand to move larger panels and the shed roof they were heavy and definitely not a one person job! Who knew roof felt carried so much weight! I will certainly give a gate ago. I would love to get an engraving or soldering tool too and etch the channel name in a wooden sign to pop on the shed or the gate! @@thetinygarden_ Ooh. It seems to me that roof-anything carries weight! A bale of asphalt shingles, for instance, weighs...enough. Roofing felt, too, as you've observed. Boxes of roofing nails, even. Apropos of nothing, no germination on the pansy seeds, yet, and I'll probably be waiting until next May to refresh the stock. If you're thinking of making a wooden sign, you might also want to use a wood burning tool rather than an engraving or soldering one. That's assuming you're happy with natural wood and the appearance of the incised and burned (discolored) lettering. Good success to you!

Hey Niki 👋 I am so pleased you like the new spot!! Honestly I couldn't be surrounded by a nicer bunch of people! I did get help to lift the big shed panels and roof they definitely weren't a one person job but sadly they didn't want to feature on the vlog! I was so surprised I actually finished it to be honest, I am not good in the sun or heat 🤣🥵 and 14 degrees is plenty warm for me so 22 degrees was a challenge! We are so more capable than we realise ♥️

Amazing work on your plot. Getting your shed & structures where you need them is a priority & grabbing the chance of a dry spell is wise. Sharing with plot neighbours is a great feeling. They are upcycling your spare stuff. Always good. Looking forward to seeing your next episode 🤩

Ooo, it was stupid 30C in our garden and I fell asleep after plantibg up some herbs I had kept indoors and were looking really rough, sowed some turnips and beetroot and that was me done in that heat. What a joy to wake up two hours later to see your delightful face xxx

Shop around the builders merchants for your guttering fixtures, they can be double the price in the DIY stores. Leftover over guttering comes in handy for peas . Well done on the big build.

Chadwicks , Morris diy on Tramore rd. Screwfix are very handy too, they open late most nights . You can set up an online account and then go and collect. Same setup as Argos, nothing on display. Very useful site for finding out prices and the names of items . I hate having to stand at hardware counters asking stupid questions and being sold the wrong item by some pimple faced youth who knows even less than me 😂

You have done so much Laura, moving the shed to the front is a great idea, what a fab view of your plot while potting up in there, it is really coming together. Well done 👍

Hats off to you, a great job 💪 Don't over worry about not planting anything at the moment. Get the infrastructure sorted beds can be covered for now as created and plan to plant things towards the end of summer for winter crops and for next spring, garlic, leeks, brassicas, japanese onion etc

Thank you so much! So much extra space, it will be a whole before I can afford a polytunnel but so worth moving the shed!

Great job. Thanks for sharing Laura. You're an inspiration. I've had to grow brassica's under cover as the worms get to eat more than we do. Looking forward to the next allotment instalment 😊

🤭 to be honest I was the same but I just went round and found screws that I could take out first and then when I was unsure a good old brut force helped (hence the snapped piece of wood and broken felt 😆) if it was all nailed together I think I would have struggled more! So glad you enjoyed the video!

Ooooooh Laura what an amazing job you've done! And you've blown the myth wide open - I imagine garden shed moving will now be added to lots of weekend job lists 😂

Myth Him: Are you sure this is where you want the shed? Her: yep, sure we can always move it! Him: nope, you can't move it once it's assembled. Spuds are flying, I've mulched them with straw to keep the rain out 😂

@@sandracraig3070 hahaha 🤣🤣 oh soo funny! That reminds me of my dad chatting to my mum!!! Once it's in you can't move it 🤣🤣. I need to go check on my spuds at the allotment but we're due thunder ⛈️⚡ so I'd rather stay indoors 🤭 glad yours are flying it! ♥️

Amazing work! 👍🙂🌱. The new grow space is a lovely size to be doing something with now. Skeletons sound grizzly, rats or chickens? Saying that I dig up a bone earlier, hope it was just something a dog buried 🤞

Thank you so much Blum blam ♥️ it feels like its taking shape now! Under the shed is very rocky which I didn't know until I'd moved it but I can use some of that clunky soils to level the walk way and other areas, the plot is very uneven and I keep tripping over the pot holes 🕳️ 🙈xx

Well Laura from the day you showed us the plot to now you have done an amazing job and you have got to be so proud of what you have done, with all that mud you had to the planting of your first lot of spuds, absolutely brilliant, you didn't need me there to help out after all 😂 Did you manage to fix that leaking tap? and you kept on saying We a few times so did you have some help in the end? Well Done again, now go and rest up i bet you were sore the next day? Look after yourself and take care. Barry (the Wirral, ENG) xx

Hey Barry thank you so much! The spuds area was pretty muddy now I think about it 😆🙈 I did get some help from my plot neighbours to move the big shed panels and roof, that part definitely wasn't a one person job! I was exhausted 🥱 took me a week to fully recover 😆 Didn't fix the tap leak yet I need proper sturdy brass fittings I think the pressure so strong! It's on the list...the very long list of to do's! Hope your keeping well and enjoying the bit of sun were seem to be getting 🤗x

OMG I can't believe you moved that shed. Well, I awoke refreshed but you got me so tired out I only have the energy for watering with the hosepipe now...lololol

😂😂 30 degree heat though Lynn you must be watering twice a day! I'd be interested to see how your beets germinate at that temperature as I have had pretty rubbish germination but I didn't put them on the propagator, maybe that was my mistake 🤔

@@thetinygarden_ I will be interested too Laura...my brain is total chaos...lol Well, the temperatures are fluctuating so fast. At night its dropping a lot so the beets and turnips should be fine.

Hey Heather 👋 the views are amazing we are at the top of a field and when the sun shines, Ireland really is one of the most beautiful places to be 🤩 I honestly haven't had quavers since I was about 12 so that was my inner child coming out there 😆😆

Skeletons! Oh no!! I guess they are skeletons of foxes or some such, bit of a dilemma how you're going to dispose of them. But well done Laura for doing most of the heavy and arduous work, you've got the plot just as you want it now and can't wait to see how it progresses. BTW has that dripping tap at the back of the plot been fixed?

Hey Sue 👋 haha yes unfortunately a few rats under the shed, there was a big problem before I took on the plot 🙅‍♀️🚫 looking forward to seeing it take a bit more shape now and no not yet but I noticed everyone at the site has brass taps so I need to install a more robust solution for sure. I am able to turn it off from the mains to stop it dripping which is great!

Hi laura your plot is really taking shape and I love the way you think things out and the way the plots looking it's going to be a grand affair next year can't wait😂😂

Well done!! You've worked really hard, its all looking so good. I'm moving house next year and hope to get an allotment then, hopefully with a shed too. I am definitely going to get a polytunnel as I am going to Scotland so I need to protect the plants from the weather!!!

@@thetinygarden_ that's Baxter dull as a brush and afraid of his own shadow , He just wants play with other dogs when he's out but when other people with dogs see him they steer clear 😂 can't say I blame them but not a nasty bone in his body , come 3-30 (i'm sure he has a watch 🙄)he has to go out the front garden when the kids in the street are coming home from school they love him he loves the fuss 👍

@@user-bw9yc4jj2h I remember you telling me about your dad, I didn't realise you lost your mum as well, I am so sorry to hear this news. Grief is such a difficult thing a rollercoaster is all I can describe it as. Our furbabies are the best always there when we need to snuggle but also there encouraging us to get up and at it. I hope we have a lovely summer and you can spend as much time healing in the garden! Mind yourself on the good days and the bad ❤️

Hi Laura, WOW, you've done a fantastic job, I am thrilled to see your changes to your plot, and moving your shed was an absolutely brilliant idea 😄 such exciting times and you were beeming with excitement, Bravo girl you've earned yourself a good rest up now 😊 The ideas you have for your shed moving forward are awesome, I can imagine beautiful clematis climbing over it. I wanted to update you on my sweet dumpling 🥺 something has munched on it, I don't think it was slugs as I don't get a lot of them where I live, but something enjoyed it. It's holding on with what is left of it, so who knows, maybe it will pull through, but in the meantime I am going to direct sow 5 more seeds and see what happens 🤔 I will post some photos on my instagram when I have sweet dumpling success xxxx Looking forward to your next video Laura, have a wonderful weekend xxxxx❤

Hey Julie 👋 so glad you like the shed move! It was surreal tired and elated all at the same time 😆 I was going to head into the home garden today but I might have one of those sit on the sofa drinking tea kind of days instead! My mother has beautiful clematis climbing her house and it's where I took the inspo from, the flowers although they flower for a short time are just fabulous 🤩 I'll try to get a variety that will flush twice I think! You don't get slugs 😲 wow I imagine it's because you have such warm and dry summers? I spent yesterday evening picking baby slugs off my dahalia seedlings! I was in two minds really as I thought they might now leave my carrots alone 😂 I have pretty bad luck with the sweet dumpling germination, absolutely nothing since we last spoke, I decided to sow the rest of the packet during the week and I have 1 little sprout 🌱 our sweet dumpling fait is hanging in the balance 🙈 I think I just followed you back on Instagram this morning, at least I hope it's you 🤞 have a lovely weekend Julie ♥️xx
