@@kelvinireland1 Ah, ok see this makes much more sense now. Because I did indeed prefer Benitez (and honestly I thought it was a no brainer her wold come in). Simeone is possible. It all depends on what the Board (and owners) culture and mindset is. Because look at Rafa at Newcastle, he tried. Carlo lost 1-3 at home to, 0le of all people, how embarrassing. I'm just saying, it's a dangerous season this one: we shall see. I don't like rapid changes myself but proof will be in the pudding come February-ish after the Jan window. The board, players and owners - they're all difficult too but lets hope we can climb and Arteta starts placing what he has in their correct positions. Just out of interest , wouldn't Simeone try but then just get angry with our board (they did profile him and rumours has it ''he didn't match Us'' - isn't that saying something about our board?

Don't kid yourself. It was better. Schemeichel, Kante, Mahrez, Vardy and even Marc Albrighton would all get into your first team today. Vardy would at least would give Aubameyang a run for his money. That's an entire spine that's better than what Arsenal have right now.

Like what the hell do you see that I'm not? And, more importantly, answer this: what is he doing right that any other proven experienced manager that Arsenal could realistically get wouldn't do and do better? Being a skilled debater at the end of the day doesn't come down to twisting words, it means coming up with the right arguments. Terry is a bad debater simply because his arguments are fundamentally weak, and it can't be any other way since there isn't much you can hold on to in order to defend a weak manager.

There simply aren't any objective arguments to defend a piss poor manager. The only "arguments" Arteta supporters stick to, at the end of the day, come down to pure faith (a.k.a. "trust the process") based on the fact that, objectively, the season's end is still a long way ahead, and to a twisted notion of loyalty to the club and such. And so these people instead of being desperate and "negative" aknowledging the reality as it is, they prefer to be patient, be optimistic and hope for the best, hence why they get so wound up when their fake positivity and delusion bubble is burst when the cold truth is exposed to them, which is a service done to them in reality, which is why I appreciate what Lee does. Simply stick to the cold facts, don't be biased and deluded.

Correct - having a fundamentally flawed argument wont win you a debate, but Lee won this too easy because Terry took his bait and tied hiself in knots. So my advice was simply IF you are going to debate, try and build an argument on the future instead of saying things like charity shield is a trophy and Leicester has a better squad than us lol. make sense?

But you miss the point. Yes, "theoretically speaking", if you give him more time then Arteta could "eventually" get results. This is true for anyone, and this is applicable for anything in life. AND? Why should anyone settle for that shit? Why was he given the job in the first place, when the club is (allegedly) bigger than championship and premier league mid-table level (when Arteta is a championship level manager at best)? Why was he, a person with literally NO managing experience, given the job in the first place when there were MULTIPLE managers available with actual experience, accomplishments and credentials? Why you, as a fan, have such low expectations for your club? And Arsenal did sack Emery mid season, so if they did it back then, what makes you think a club this big doesn't have the means of doing it again?

I rate Lee a lot and i watch a lot of his content....Largely based on the fact that he doesnt sugar coat things and at the very least says it as it is....If we are good he says so, if we arent he says so. He isnt deluded like a lot of our youtube fanbase, the other guy Terry seems like a genuinely decent guy but he did come out with some complete waffle

I have a question for Terry! Why is a massive club like Arsenal employing an amateur like Arteta? There is no debate here, Terry! You can't answer that. It's game over before even the debate started. No hard feelings. (I believe that Arteta has potential, but I agree with Tony Adams. We need a consistent system and the manager must know his best 11. That's not the case so far, that's sad. Players need chemistry and learn how their teammates behave on the pitch. So far we are not even close to any of that. So what is Arteta doing? Bringing Mustafi that haven't played a game - boss move, NOT, armatures :)

Missed most of it but this was a good one still. What I will say is I don't see progress since we have ready lost 4 out of 8 league games yet we sacked Emery despite losing just 3 out of 13. Arteta is not the man imo and this is something I have said for time. Lee won it imo BUT fair play to Terry for sticking up to what he believes in. This is a game of opinions at the end of the day.

Terry has one point that he keeps repeating like a cult!

How some people don't see how self-evidently broken Terry's weak arguments are (and how he doesn't see through that himself) is absolutely baffling.

If Arteta doesn't improve things in the next 3 games and doesn't get more than 6 points (minimum), he has to be sacked! Even if he does that and we're still outside the top 6 and nowhere near top 4 after 19 games (half the season), he should be sacked too! Also, I'm not sure what's wrong in sacking managers early if it ain't working out! Di Matteo was sacked after about 10 league games after winning the biggest trophy in Europe and an FA Cup!

Watching the 'sequel' to this brought me here. Claude is sorely missed.

Terry said he rather trophies than whatever league finishes but then says he didn't want people like José winning a title (trophy) then "fucking us up".. if it's all about trophies I'd die for a prem title if it meant next few years we didn't win. Better than the occasional rare fa cup as much as I love the cup. Won at Utd and looking like he'll get something out of spurs. Etc. This guy is hard to listen to. Contradicts himself & twists lees words often, speaks a lot of sense on the surface of knowing our squad is shit but then does the above. Arteta shouldn't be sacked if Mourinho wins the league with Spurs because Arsenal don't have as good a squad as Spurs. Any manager could come into Arsenal and still wouldn't finish above Spurs because Spurs have a better squad. Arsenal should be happy with top 4 at best this season as the squad isn't good enough to win the league.

Different competition back then. CL clubs didn’t drop into the EL after group stage so it was far easier for Jose. Emery slapped up Valencia and Napoli who were 2 CL sides who dropped in

Our board spent a net of barely £50mn; and did not buy £30mn Szobozlai. It's not good enough from them! He's massively under achieving. Injuries? Liverpool have tons of Injuries to big players and they're still top. That's a sign of a good manager. Every player has regressed under Arterta. Furthermore, he's doing worse than Emery did last season WHO HAD LOST THE DRESSING ROOM! Just before he got sacked.

Why does Fraudteta deserve any respect? He’s been completely awful in the PL since he arrived 28 games and counting. He also had a nightmare in Europa. If he didn’t fluke the FA Cup he’d have hands down been one of the worst managerial appointments in Arsenal’s history

No he doesn’t, he has spent time researching his side of the argument to convince people he is right Unfortunately there are plenty of weak minded people to suck it up

Terry talks a load of bull-he says GG was poor when he first started-He had a great first season finishing 4th and won the League cup-He inherited a load of dead wood like Tony Woodcock and turned the club around-I remember it well.

The problem is both Lee and Terry have different ideologies, Terry wants to win as many trophies as possible regardless of value, whilst Lee cares about the value of the Trophies. So to elaborate on what I mean Terry would rather us win 5 FA Cups, 1 EFL Cup and 2 Community Shields and Lee would rather us win 2 league titles and a Europa League Title. I personally agree with Lees way of thinking, but at the same time I can see where Terry is coming from, it’s just we don’t all value the same things equally. I support a team in Australia for a sport over here called NRL, (It’s the same as Super League in England if you know what that is, similar to Rugby but more structured) and my team is an Elite Don, The Melbourne Storm, we have won 3 of the last 8 titles and we lost in the final in 2 of the 5 we didn’t win, in a sport that has a salary cap so theoretically it’s an even playing field unlike how Arsenal are way bigger then most of the teams they verse, if we concede 1 point in a game I’m pissed off and for context the last big game we had in NRL (a rep game) the score was 20 - 14 so it’s way easier to concede points then it is football just for reference, so moral is I expect perfection. That’s the way I look at Arsenal, so when we concede a goal or don’t dominate the games we should, I’m fuming. Others say that’s unrealistic and you should never expect perfection, I say raise yours so our club can win titles not be happy with FA Cups and Community Shields

It's a matter of time before everyone becomes Arteta out. Terry is a lovely guy so I have nothing against him. We are going downhill fast and many fans would rather back Arteta than admit they were wrong. Some people go to the extent of calling certain fans "rats" for wanting Peps coneman out is crazy.

The irony is they were the rats as they rode an agenda against Emery from the day he was appointed - fact. People who want Fraudteta gone is because his results have been shocking, there’s no dark witch hunt like the Wenger fanboy melts.

love the debate... but Terry, as much as I like him, he had not a single argument against Lee. reason is facts don't lie. You actually don't need facts to see that Arsenal has no idea going forward. I can't remember when we scored from open play, besides it's really boring to watch. truth is Arsenal has a squad which can win you the FA Cup in any season, but competing with CL league teams ( like Bayern) you have to ask, if a first-timer (Arteta) is capable of achieving that goal. def not in his first season, def not with this team (Xhaka, Elneny, Laca etc.) imo if we keep Arteta, don't expect any success in Europe or in EPL in the next 3 years. It makes no sense to compare him to Emery, our squad has changed, so have all EPL teams. We can only judge Arteta by his decisions and results he gets...and that is below any expectation. I think the task right now at our club is too big for a first-timer like Arteta, you need a experienced managers for teams who needs a reshape.

Poor Terry. Struggling with context and shifting his position on every point. The whole premise is misleading. Emery wasnt good enough. Arteta isnt good enough. Next.
